Veteran Status.

Recommended Posts

I've got battlefiled bad company 2 today through the post same time as a friend of mine, we both have veteran status.

When i logged on the game, nothing, when he logged on the game he got a welcome back veteran message and he unlocked the m1 garand :(

Anyone have this issue?

Any ideas why I have got veteran status on Bad Company 1 and it's demo on the veteran website, but at the top it says veteran status 0 ???

Also I can't claim veteran status on BF:BC2 because when I select it, there is no field to type in my gamertag ???

Any ideas ???

They were supposed to update BFBC2 and BF1943 automatically without you having to type anything in, but they haven't even got it to work with 1943 yet, so I don't know when they will add BFBC2 automatically.

FYI: I have the M1 Garand and according to the site I have a Vet Rank of 2. I've played BF2MC, BFBC1 and BFBC1 Demo. I also played BFBC2 and BF1943 but they don't show up.

To get Veteran status for Bad Company 2, you need to do it through the official website; badcompany2.ea.com (sections of it are down due to high traffic). When it's working again, login and select My Soldier, you can manually do it there.

1943's Veteran status can be updated by using the EA Support features (support.ea.com/chat), you can also get BF1942 added that way (you need a valid CD Key though).

@Adz - Thats the way veteran status works. The first game you add, you do not go up in rank, when you add game number 2, you will be Veteran +1, game 3 = Veteran +2 etc etc. The demo does not matter (neither do the expansion packs for the others).

@Slacky - Have you played BF1943? Im sure the M1 Garand is only for those who played that.

im uber frustrated. ive linked my gamertag to my EA acct. But (i guess) because ive changed my name since ive played these games i cant get veteran status for them. Same gamertag just names changed. I find my old names on the leaderboards for each game, but it will only let me link active gamertags to my ea acct. I dont understand the fail here. When i popped in BC1 it already knew i had played the demo, and was a veteran of bf2mc. Didnt have to do a thing.

any help?

ok so i feel the need to mention some of the name changes were not voulentary(sp)

EDIT: Conf that ea live customer support will fix this for you, but the link in this thread is no good. started at @ 9 pm est on a monday took about 40 mins total. I have my MI but it doesnt show me as a veteran, wtfever.

Easy wat to get veteran status:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.php?board=957917&topic=53758626

- Set up your EA Account (either through EA.com or by playing BC2 online for the first time).

- Download the Battlefield 2 PC Demo ( from http://www.filefront.com/3876613/The-Battlefield-2-Demo/ )

- Install the demo, launch it, and follow the in-game steps to create a new BF2 online account.

- Quit the game. You don't need to play a full match, first -- all I did was select the first available server from the multiplayer lists, and then quit immediately afterwards.

- Go to http://veteran.battlefield.com and log in using your EA Account credentials. Register your BF2 online account -- one down, one to go.

- Go to the Battlefield Heroes website (http://www.battlefieldheroes.com/) and create a new hero under your existing EA account credentials

- Return to http://veteran.battlefield.com and confirm that the BF:Heroes emblem has appeared as well

Congratulations! You are now "Veteran Status 1" and will receive the Garand when you next sign in to BC2.

slackydave, which of you played the game first?

I'm also a Veteran, but I first played BC2 a few hours after one of my friends did...His Veteran status was recognized and he got his M1 Garand and Veteran rank icon, where-as mine wasn't (I also didn't get the gamer picture that the LE is supposed to give you.)

I have a feeling this is because they've shut down certain features of the Veteran status service (anybody with a Veterank rank icon just has an empty white box right now; their number isn't shown) in between the time my friend and I first booted up our copies.

So if you played the game after your friend, then my hypothesis is right and they disabled the Battlefield Veteran program before you were able to claim your rewards, but after your friend got his.

I am already veteran status 1 (BC1 and Heroes, plus I'd have 1943 if I could ever get it to work on the site) and I still do not have the M1 Garand.

Because you probably don't have Veteran Status for BF1943, it has to be done manually by the EA support line, which has been posted more then once in the thread.

yea this is true i have status 1 but not with 1943 an i dont have the garand i wanna verify my 1943but theres no option and ea support is down while they fix the site !!

Right i've got the Garand now and it's not to do with 1943.

What i had to do was download Battlefield 2 demo on my pc like a guy said up there and this took me veteran games to 3 and increased my veteran status to a 2. Then the next time i logged onto battlefield bad company 2 it said welcome back veteran blah blah blah here is your Garand :)
