dontgoeasyonme
I thought we could create a thread where we could discuss this game. I'm about 6 hours in but have restarted 3 times because I just don't get how to build convoys or get them to buy specific items only... Any help? Outlinez
Dock convoy in the same port as the ships you wish to add to it, then with the convoy selected click on the lighthouse and a menu will come up that lets you add/remove ships from the convoys hope this helps as for the buying specific thing havent seen this yet but havent played the trader campaign in depth yet
Zombiechild
I never thought i would say this about ANY game.. as i know male pride normaly forbids the following.. But The Game manuel is actually pretty useful and there are certian things that the game never explains that you can find in this small unassuming booklet.. dontgoeasyonme
Yeh the problem I was having was that I tried to add multiple convoys were, supposed to make 1 ship the lead of the convoy then add un-selected ships to it. As for only buying certain items, you can instruct your Captain to buy certain items whilst creating routes. Unfortunately I haven't found out how to buy 'X' from one port and sell 'Y' at another :S

Hopefully we can keep each other informed on here. I'm official awful at the Naval battles, I'm going to have to keep simming them I think

ScottCorno1987
No manual for me because I'm renting from LOVEFiLM. Restarted just the once, after aimlessly sailing around exploring, not realising the money was going down :/ I can only recommend following the advisor, money ticking along nicely, got 2 convoys, one going round on a trade route (automically I think) and the other I'm controlling to go the missions the ports give you, as the completion bonuses can be 20k, plus doing the random missions that come from some ports about rescuing people that go overboard. dontgoeasyonme
If I make a shed load of supplies should I sell it to the villages or put it in my storage? Also if I'm producing goods are they added to my warehouse or are the sold by the villagers? I'm also without a manual and this is the last thing that I'm to grasp in the game. Nephews currently asleep on the game manule so doing this from memory and please forgive spelling mistakes, Items you produce on an island automaticly go to your warehouse, these items are only sold if you have/do the following 1, Hire a steward and set him to sell the goods at market(local) when the price is right you can set the % the demand price is by selecting the warehouse scrolling to the steward and changing it 2, you set up a convoy trade route solely to take items you own and sell to markets on other islands 3, Get a ship load the goods into it and sail around your self otherwise they sit in your warehouse collecting dust and rats and costing you storeage fees.. Which i dont get as its your bloody warehouse!? lol

gazmaster1
By the looks of things some of the cheevos carry over between saves, I unlocked the turn over 100,000 just after I started on the adventure strategy campaign. Now just how to figure out what the best course of action is for taking over 30 towns and having 250,000 barrels in one game. BUZZARDIO 1080
Ok so ive got about 4 trade routes each with about 4-5 ship and at least one bad ass military ship (war galleon /military corvette), ive got them all set to profit except one that pass through my 2 towns , that one is set to raw materials, all was going great , but pirate are becoming more and more of a problem, i guess they ,like other nations ,get stronger if left unchecked. Whats the best way to deal with them, should i group all my convoys together and go pirate hunting, or is it best to just keep increaseing the firepower of all convoys (so they can look after themselves better)? Zombiechild
Ok. Pirates .. The more they raid and win the stronger they get and they get stronger very quickly as the NPC nations do nothing its all left to you.. My easy Way to kill Pirate Scum! ALWAYS fight the Battles your self unless your rocking a couple Man'O'War's fully kitted out IF YOU FIGHT THE BATTLES YOUR SELF only make ONE Ship an escort the AI control is crap and other ships will die if you let the AI play. Ive gone 1 Sloop Vs 3 Gallys and beaten them trick is to lure 1 ship away from the group and pound it at distance watch the target circle under the enemy ship and only fire when its green also when your controling the ship your cannons seem to have a much longer range than the AI has ( bug? ) with careful control you can avoid taking Any damage. I get to cocky and take a hit every now and again but no damage is possible doing it this way ofc you can use this method to take out sails/crew and board the ship to capture it but you will need a bigger ship for this as youll need the ammo and crew Also Taking out the pirate lairs is a good method for Booty/gold and stopping pirate activity for awhile but i have yet to find a effective way of wiping the out apart from attrition and throwing men at them until their drained, so if anyone knows how your supposed to take them out share the method! xD hope this helps a few people and ope it makes sense!
