Graivul
Please tell me there will be a Tropico 5.... In this endless sea of carbon copied FPS games and RPG's, we need our dose of Tropico to keep us sane......really wish they would get yearly releases like Call Of Duty do.... Viva La Tropico!!!! Numbthumb
Then you'll like this: http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/17/new-tropico-in-development-at-haemimont-games/ Good news, El Presidente! The next Tropico is developer Haemimont Games' next title after it ships Omerta this fall. Even more interesting, the game won't be as obviously iterative as it was between Tropico 3 and Tropico 4. "We've already started on Tropico. This time we're wiping the whole game clean and building it from the ground up," explained Gabriel Dobrev, chief executive officer of the Bulgarian developer. "We're starting with a clean design this time and all the graphics will be new." Dobrev says he's a fan of the Caribbean atmosphere, political aspects and story possibilities of the Tropico universe. He wouldn't share any more details about the new island adventure or pinpoint the era it would take place in, but said it's "larger in scope." No matter what they decide to do with the new design, El Presidente shall return!
Foxxy kyle
I am hoping there will actually be a whole country, and a chain of islands we can can control. Instead of a little tiny island being our entire country multiple times. Tropico 3 and Tropico 4 were only a little over a year apart, so hopefully we will see Tropico 5 this year. T4 was almost identical to T3 aside from a higher saturation and the faces of characters in the campaign. One aspect I liked in T4 over T3 was the office buildings because they allow you to become a developed country in that your economy doesn't solely rely on raw materials/manufacturing, hopefully T5 expands on this. Bulldog NL
Some features of Tropico 5 that have been confirmed by the developer: - The Eras - From the 19th century to the 21st, each era carries its own challenges and opportunities. Begin your reign during colonial times and advance your nation through the modern era and into the future!T - The Dynasty – Each member of El Presidente’s extended family is present on the island and may be appointed to key leadership positions, earning skills and experience in their assigned roles. - Research and Renovate - Advance your nation by discovering new buildings, technologies and resources. Transform your old buildings into modernized, hyper-efficient designs worthy of an economic superpower! - Advanced trade system and trade fleet - Amass a global trade fleet and use your ships to secure import/export trade routes to neighbouring islands and key nations. - Explore your island - Discover what lies beyond the fog of war. Send prospectors to look for new mineral and ore deposits, but be wary of hostile animals and native tribes. - All new art - All artwork is reworked to provide Tropico 5 with a distinct historic visual identity. Choose from over 100 unique buildings from each of the individual eras. - Cooperative and competitive multiplayer – Up to four players can build up their own cities and economies on any given island map. Players can share resources and citizens, or declare war on each other. Especially that last part will be an interesting one!
Graivul
So nice to see coming back to my very old post, that my sincere wish for a Tropico 5 has become a reality, and as 2013 draws to a close, and we are about to enter 2014, we are getting nearer to that Tropico time again! I am being totally honest here, as someone who has played and pretty much maxed out every single Call of Duty game...Tropico 5 is a far more exciting prospect and eager countdown than the uber-hyped Call Of Duty Ghosts was for me lol. Ah I can hear the radio announcement now...."Good Morning Tropicoooooooo".....Bliss:dance:
twotonkoala
Just came across this: Unfortunately the last few seconds mentions "Xbox 360" and "PS4" which disappointed me. I was hoping we'd get it on the One, especially due to some of the problems that plagued the larger islands on 360. Sad face. But hey, at least a new one is coming out, I really enjoyed 3 and 4 (even though I only played 4 for a little while on a friends system).
Eggnogga
^^ Hopefully it will eventually come out for the One. I'd probably wind up buying it for both the 360 & One if that were the case. (I couldn't possibly wait that long knowing the 360 version will be out months beforehand.)
Wolfgar61
The freedom to play the Tropico series anyway you see fit, is the timeless appeal for me. Tropico 5? Awesome!
