Is the game really as good as the comments make it out to be?
I really hope so, after reading these comments it kind of excited me
It's true, and I highly recommend that you continue playing it. In my opinon, it had one of the best storylines of any game I've ever played. It also has a unique style of gameplay that is much different than your generic game. The only thing I disliked were the excessive amount of collectibes, though they weren't that horrifying to collect.

Yes, the comments are true. This is one of few games that isn't trying to copy Call of Duty. I'm looking forward to playing this game again in the future as I believe the 2nd playthrough will be just as good as the 1st.

Got this recently on a sale they had on XBL, for $5. Seemed like a steal! Now I just need to clear my backlog a bit to play it. Glad to read that it's a good game.

Thumbs up Loving the first part of the game

I am still in the first half of the game and I have to say it's a great game! It really brings you into the storyline and it's very fun to play. Although at some points I find it a little hard (I am absolutely terrible at video games) at points it's never been so bad that I wanted to quit. A++ so far, can't wait to keep playing.

Probably one of the best plots of any game I've ever played. It blended very well with the visuals, mechanics, lighting, OST, etc. for me. One of my favorites.

I'm on the fence of getting a new XBox 360 just for Assassins Creed Rogue (have sold mine some time ago) and I'm thinking of getting this again too, next to Rogue, Assassins Creed 1 and The Witcher 2.

I have played this game on release day that day, also got the limited edition, which was pretty cool.

Such a good game, but pretty tough and the achievements have also been not very easy.

Definitely one of the best games of last-gen, with spectacular graphics and atmosphere (the woods, the fog!), and of course with great references to Twin Peaks!

Alan Wake is a game that you should play it more than one time to fully understand what a great story this game has.

The game is good, but the climate in it causes that I was only playing for a half of hour on one sitting.

How do you compare this game with Alone in the Dark, if you didn't know whole series (from PC) before?

This is still one of my absolute favorite games, and after seeing the Alan Wake 2 that could have been, I'm hoping Remedy and Microsoft eventually get around to making the sequel they always wanted. Alan Wake is a game I recommend to all of my gamer friends because the story is so fantastic! If anyone sees this and is on the fence about getting it, just do it. You'll be glad you did!
