They better not screw this game up

For as long as I can remember my family and I have played Trivial Pursuit. It's a brilliant game. This version, from the screenshots, looks like heading in the right direction.

Here's some things that this game better have!:

- Online multiplayer for 6 people (i'm looking at you Monopoly developers)

- Intelligent questions (the latest physical version of Genius Edition is a joke)

- No annoying commentators, or at least the ability to mute commentary

- Multiple Game Modes (which from the screenshots, it does)

- A heap of downloadable content (including updated questions!)

- Better music than Uno!

Also, does anyone know the release date? I'm keen!

Post your wishes for this game.

Ok just searched up some info. I'll edit this post as more comes to hand:

- Retail title, not arcade. Multiple console/platform release.

- According to xbox.com, NO F***ING ONLINE PLAY!!!

- Multiple game modes

- Release date is Tuesday 10 March 2009.

- Avatar support (as per Uno, Kingdom of Keflings etc)

Here's a snippet of info about the game:

"With dynamic visuals, new questions and question types, the console version of Trivial Pursuit brings the party to the living room TV allowing players to customize the experience with several ways to play. Players can connect with friends in classic Trivial Pursuit mode, hone their knowledge with the single player mode, and gather their buddies and bet on their brains with the high stakes mode where every answer counts."

Also, here is a few more screens that i dug up:

Looks great. Pity so many people, including myself, won't go near it cause it has no online play.

Doesn't really appeal to me (mostly because I suck at this game) but the acheivements look easy enough as there will probably be a question answer guide so it shouldn't be too hard.

An answer guide? Lol! This is one game i will play for the enjoyment. In regards to an answer guide, i'm thinking that will be difficult as there would have to be thousands upon thousands of questions.

I imagine that will be a hugely exploited trick. I'm thinking they'll have a 10-15 second countdown after the question is asked where you can't pause.

I think that would be good. Or at least have it as an option (i.e. Turn on/off Pause During Questions ability).

This is the internet theres hundreds of people with too much spare time. So I wouldn't be suprised if they did eventually make on.

You're right. I think i knew that as i was writing that last post.

Was just thinking that in terms of DLC for this game, not only new questions would be good, but THEMED games. Like, you could have an Xbox themed game with xbox related questions, graphics, wedge pieces etc. Or a Street Fighter one (that's got a long history), you get the idea.

What you reckon?

When I was young I had the original version of Trivial Pursuit brought for me at Christmas.

We played it a couple of times and the rest of the family got board because the questions being to hard. I didn't know the answers either but I still enjoyed it.

I might get this so I will be playing with other people how want to. Most of the achievements don't look to hard but Someone will eventually make a guide with all the answers so It's all good.

I hope that they put an option to change the difficulty of the questions.

This will definitely be a console release: [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Trivial-Pursuit-Xbox-360/dp/B001IX4CN4/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1235150688&sr=8-14]Amazon.com: Trivial Pursuit: Video Games[/ame]

The product has weight and dimensions, which you wouldn't get if you were just getting a point card sent to you. And it'll be just shy of $40, which I'm inclined to pay.

EDIT: Also, according to Amazon all the play is offline. Upon that revelation I think that I'll wait for the sequel to come out, since I don't think this game will be able to compete with Rock Band at social gatherings.

what the hell....did these fools not learn anything from monopoly? If you look at the title listing on xbox.com it is confirmed there will be no online play. Pretty disappointing and ill probably just end up getting the game for the points and then sending it back to gamefly.

Exactly. I'm actually sad would you believe. Why the fuck would they not make social multi player games like Monopoly and Trivial Pursuit online enabled?! That is the reason behind services like Xbox Live.

Very, very disappointed. :(
