What is Microsoft smoking?

Seriously. After all this time, WHY is the friends list still limited to 100? What kind of stupid shit is that? Ok, as a programmer, I could see 255 (byte). MAYBE. But how can they keep this stupid low limit when so many people have full lists?

An option to ignore all new requests would also be helpful. I know a guy on Halo that got 150 in one day! Everybody spams the high ranks with friend requests. Sadly, the only defense is to have a full list.

Smoking crack, i sold it to them :p Seriously though I wouldn't mind being able to have more than 100 friends and to block friend requests that being said its not a very important issue for me really i just apologize for deleting people when they realize and say i needed the space or i done it by accident as i was going to bed ;)

My friends list got a few new spaces todat. Deleted a few people that I really never talk to and are of no use to me in any game that I still need to complete (a friend for Madden only? Seriously?). It is nice to have a large friends list, but at some point it just gets redundant. Once I have enough people that I can organize an eight person boosting session without using the achievement trading threads, do I really need more? Sure, if they are interesting people, add more and keep them, but for the most part, you really don't need more than 100 (or really even 50). And the constant "This person is online" messages can get annoying and disctracting.

100 is plenty to have on your friends list.

Come on, as people have said no can possibly game with or regularly talk to 100+ people so why does anyone need more.

This ain't fucking Facebook where people feel the need to have hubdreds of people on their account despite not knowing most of them and having a large friends list is not the same as having proper friends. I'd love to meet the person who has 100 friends that they talk to and socialise with and all happen to be xbox gamers lol.

there is no need for a higher limit. ive only got around 30 at the moment and a few of them haven't been online for months so i'll probably delete some more. no-one has a 100 very good friends that play xbox live with them. i'll admit i don't send fr's myself, but even someone that dishes off requests like hotcakes shouldn't need more than 100.

and if you do what i do and delete requests from people you don't know/didn't send a message it should help to keep that total well below 100.

It's like Facebook, let's be honest, no one is really 'friends' with everyone on their lists, how often do you keep in contact with everyone on Facebook or Xbox. I see people with over 1,000 friends on Facebook, and I think it's nonsense. I have like 400, and I don't really even talk to more than half of them. I think 100 is fine for Xbox.

lets be honest here. you do not have 100 friends lol. Friend lists like that are just filled with people you add and barely ever speak to again.

Try to whittle it down to a handful of people. say 20 that share the same taste in games as you and you will not have to keep having to add so many randoms.

Do people REALLY need over 100 people on their friends list? i mean, at MOST you can only play with like 10-16 of them... not to mention only chat with 8 at a time.

FYI, I've heard there are clans on Halo with upwards of 60 people. That would chew up space on your list.

In my case, I play Halo: Reach around 12 hours a day, and I like to run with full team. Not everyone is on at the same times, but most of them do join me at least once a week when they see an empty slot. Some have been friends for a while but don't come on Halo as much, etc. Halo is the only thing I've spent time playing online (90 days playtime!) and my list is constantly full. I wouldn't be able to play other online stuff without constantly looking for people to delete. And you know you can never find the right ones to delete when you're looking for them. You see them sign on here and there and think they're the next to go, then you can't remember who it was when you need a slot. lol

The reason my friends list is full is because I share my xbox with 3 other people and they got all there friends and I usually regularly only game with 4 other people but they refuse to let me delete the friends who they don't even know. So in my case I can't added someone to help me boost which does get annoying after a while.

I have about 30 friends from school and college although their not always online its nice to have a chat from time to time. About another 10 are from uni or who I've met in person. Then another 20 i play with regularly and try get achievements on games with then theres about another 10 which i play multiplayer with on games From gears of war 1 to Call of duty black ops so i know them quite well and always keep in touch. So 70 out of 90 i keep and talk to regulary, another 10 are people i know in person but don't really talk to such as my cousins friends so I'm in a party with them regulaly don't want the arkward why'd you delete me haha. Then the other 10 are people who i used to play with quite alot who i don't talk to as much or who are no longer online one is waiting for his 360 to get back from microsoft. Then i did have another 10 which were second accounts etc which are no longer used so i deleted them.
