The Stray
Formatting is all over the place, roadmap overview needs to be finished off and re-assembled, guide need more info. 1. 2. 3. http://download.xbox.com/content/images/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d8024b5607e3/1033/banner.png Achievement Guide/Roadmap Copyright: This guide is written for the sole use of x360a; if you wish to use this information please ask first. Overview: Estimated achievement difficulty: ?/10 Offline/Online: 970/30 (48 Off/2 On) Approximate amount of time to 1000: 90-100+ (More or less, give or take) Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1 for Legend, and 22 for each character in Dream Mode, 10 each for Co-Op and Team Online, and a lot for grinding “True Master of the Apocalypse” Number of missable achievements: None Glitched achievements: None Do cheat codes disable achievements? No (There are none) Does difficulty affect achievements? No ---------------------------------------------------- General Achievement Note: The achievements are plain and simple to earn like the 1st game, since all you have to do is beat the Legend Mode, and then the Dream Mode with each character with the associated achievement on them. After that, the online modes and the grinding for “True Master of the Apocalypse” achievement. Both the JP and the NA/EU version are stackable for up to 2000(G). But be warned that the JP version has some restrictions regarding use of the online mode/pass which makes non-JP XBL accounts render unaccesable to get the full 1000(G) on that particular version. Plus, always save your game every now and then, since there’s no auto-save feature, so be careful. Intro: Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage 2 (Or Shin Hokuto Musou in JP) is the Sequel to the 1st Ken’s Rage in which this game has some new additions, slight changes, and a couple of other stuff, such as that you can’t jump anymore, in favor of dashing, and also, this game covers the entire series, such as the re-telling of the 1st season, and adds the 2nd season on Legend Mode, also, Dream mode are no longer What-If Scenarios, just flashback stories before the main one. Controls: -Move, -Camera, :dleft:/:dright:-Scroll Sig Moves, -Weak Atk, -Strong Atk, -Signature Moves, -Dash/Evade, -Block, -Special Move, -Taunt, -Throw. Game Manual: http://bit.ly/15n4aog Conclusion: Fans of Dynasty Warrior type games (and FotNS as well) will have no problem getting this to complete, but is a bit of a grind than the 1st KR that is, but at least it’s a bit better and runs smoothly. ---------------------------------------------------- Guide Start! Part 1: Legend Mode Achievements All of the Legend Mode Achievements are pretty straightforward; just defeat the boss at the end of each chapter. This will also allow Kenshiro to level up and earn Signature Moves as well. Simply play the game on Easy to make things quicker. Note, during certain parts of boss fights, you can do a QTE to damage them greatly, but it only happens in certain ones that’ll prompt you to press a certain button to trigger it. For starters, I suggest having the Difficulty to easy, as it will make things a bit easier on yourself, also, instead of how the 1st game made it to be too much explored, now it’s made linear and simpler. Of course, you can no longer jump (except in A button prompts) in favor of a dash/evade, which may sometimes come in handy, you can block though. As the game progresses on, you level up your 5 Skills over time (Atk/Def/Aura/Life/Tech) and gain Signature Moves for Kenshiro. Also, the Meridian Chart system has been removed in favor of scrolls, the scroll feature makes things simpler to power up your character in 5 skills, also, the scrolls you earn are random and each are assigned random values (from Lv.1 to Lv.7) and stats (like “Recovery”). More on the game flow can be found here at: bit.ly/Yyb9Ee True Successor - 60:gsicon: Complete(d) all Legend Mode episodes. This will unlock when you complete all 36 episodes in Legend Mode. The Stray
Part 2: Dream Mode Achievements After completing Legend Mode, you can now go on to Dream Mode in which you’ll have to take bases, defeat bosses, and clear Dream Mode with everyone except Mr.Heart and Outlaw (plus Amiba, Nameless Shura and Han). Post-Apocalyptic Savior - 15:gsicon: Complete(d) Dream Mode with Kenshiro. In Dream Mode in KR2, they are no longer What-If Scenarios, more like stories before they take place in Legend Mode. Also, what’s different in KR2 is that you no longer need to do tasks to finish a stage in DM, now what you can do is capture any 5 bases and defeat the boss, simple as that, but also, you’ll be graded in each stage (more on that in “True Savior” achievement) where E is the lowest and A is the highest. Also, I suggest the scrolls you acquired as Ken (or any character) can be “Proffered” to other characters so that they can become stronger, but be warned that proffering can only be done once on scrolls that you proffer to and receive to other characters. Note that in DM, other characters (except Ken) can learn Signature Moves once your Aura skill is leveled up during gameplay (using scrolls with Aura in it doesn’t count), so yes, it can take a while to earn moves for screen killing enemies though. Also, use the scroll management and nexus skills with bonuses like “Recovery” and “Champion” to make your characters stronger. The Stray
Part 3: Online and Clean-Up Once you get both the Legend and Dream Modes out of the way, 1 achievement you’ll earn naturally later on is the “Fists of Persistence”, followed by the Co-Op and Team online achievements, completing the challenges in Dream Mode and getting almost all A ranks in Dream mode with every character that’s not from “Others”. After that, the last achievement will be getting 100,000 kills over time, which KR 1 used to be 10,000, but 10x more kills, more on all this down below. A little note though, playing online games will reward you better scrolls, but I heard you can do the same with a maxed out character solo. More info on how the online game modes work can be found at: bit.ly/12uxA4d Note: The JP version of the game requires an Online Pass to play online and the JP XBL account (as 2P) for it needs to be logged on in order to play the online modes with your regular account (as 1P), the NA/EU (Int) versions do not use an Online Pass and can play the online modes freely. Co-op Play Veteran - 15:gsicon: Participate(d) in 10 online Co-op Play games. In order to get this achievement, and in order to play and/or host Co-Op online, you must have at least finish the "Wasteland Thugs" quest first. Since its only a solo quest. After that, you can play the next quest "The Chosen Ones", which can be done in Co-Op, and can be done 10 times on Easy difficulty. Just play your best character with your stats up and scroll skills up. You'll most likely get this done quicker with Kenshiro after you finish the Legend Mode with all of his Signature Moves and Skills/Scrolls almost maxed out. To see how many Co-Op games completed, go to the online menu, select Player Info (completely optional), and it will show you the No. of Co-Op games won. Team Match Master - 15:gsicon: Claim(ed) victory in 10 online Team Matches. Note: A little something on Team Matching is that you must have up to 4 people minimum to boost this (2 on 2). Also note on TM, is that you don't beat up the other players, but more exactly, do "Missions", pretty much do random tasks on whatever stage, also, best set the missions to 3 to make things quicker. Here's the list. Reach the Goal Destroy x Green Barrels Open x amount of Chests Collect x amount of Karma Defeat x amount of Enemies Defeat x amount of Commanders Destroy x amount of Jagi Statues x = any random amount that will be displayed on screen to clear a mission. Also, whoever you're paired up, is random, and to see how many Team Matches you have won (completely optional), on the online menu, go to Player Info, and it will show you the No. of TM games won. Fists of Persistence - 35:gsicon: Play(ed) for over 50 hours in total. Unlike the 30 hours achievement for the 1st Ken's Rage, you must now play over 50 hours, of course though, this will come naturally after beating through Legend Mode and playing over Dream Mode. Note: The achievement unlocks after completing any chapter/stage in Legend/Dream Mode. Ultimate Nexus Master - 35:gsicon: Collect(ed) all scrolls and complete(d) an Ultimate Nexus. Although "collecting all scrolls" is kinda misleading, all you need to do in order to make an "Ultimate Nexus" is collect 5 scrolls with three stats in them and line them up in vertical positions of a 2, 3, 4, and 5 scroll nexus. The link below shows an example of how an "Ultimate Nexus" is formed, in words of course, 5-Yellow/Aura, 4-Red/Atk, 3-Blue/Def, and 2-Green/Life. But any other combination is possible. http://bit.ly/YgRsRl Quest Master - 35:gsicon: Complete(d) all Dream Mode challenges in Free Mode. Simply complete the “Challenge” portion of DM, which has no story or anything, just take out bases and defeat bosses, simple as that, you’ll mostly do it as Ken with almost max stats (and more often using the Heavenly Destruction Sig) and other skills too. True Savior - 60:gsicon: Complete(d) all Dream Mode quests with the highest Level. What this really means is that you must “A Rank” almost every stage with each character (except “Others”) in DM, how this works is that you’ll be graded on taking down bases, the higher the level and difficulty (Up to Lv.7), the more “Savior Score” you’ll earn, there are bonus messages in certain bases you’ll need to gather to get that A rank, as follows, you’ll have to defeat enemies… -With a Steel Girder -With a 50 Combo or more -With a Signature Move (B-Button) -With Mighty Aura Activated (1 level of Sig power gained) -When your life is Green -And within a 30 Second time limit Doing these tasks will grade your performance when you clear a base (higher level bases are essential), and if you do it with A ranks in bases, you’ll earn stat bonuses as follows. D Rank-Speed Increase C Rank-Max Health Increase B Rank-Max Aura Increase A Rank-Attack and Defense Increase Note: Outlaw will come in most of the time, defeat him, and you’ll earn 1000 Grade points, same with certain bosses of each chapter/stage. Once you clear a Stage, you are taken to the results screen as follows. For A ranks totaling on all aspects, here’s some estimates Karma (get more than about 600) Savior Score (depending on character and stage, about more than 8,000-10,000) Damage (About less than 3000-2000) Time (less than 15-10 minutes depending on char/stage) Note: You must always have an A rank for Savior score, or you’ll most likely end up getting B ranks most of the time. The rest can be done easily, but for more sense in the matter, any 3 A’s and 1 B that’s not on “Savior Score” will still award you an A rank, which will show a Golden “Cleared” meaning you A ranked the stage, note also that certain characters in the Hokuto/Nanto Story will have branching paths with other characters, once you’ve “cleared” the same stage name once with that one character, you don’t need to A rank it again with other characters which makes it easier. Already tested and tried true. Also: The Online Stages (and the Challenge Stages, since they don't count) on Dream Mode are not necessary to complete since it doesn't grade you on anything, of course. True Master of the Apocalypse - 35:gsicon: Defeat(ed) 100,000 enemies. This is mostly likely the last achievement you’ll earn in the game, once you complete both the Legend and Dream modes altogether and around 49 achievements, you’ll most likely have a kill count of 50,000-70,000. Here’s an easier grind method which will take a while, and yes, will add up to the totals if you either complete it or exit out of the game. First, Select Toki, then set up whatever skills to make him have “Ultimate Nexus” and others, after that, play the Dream Mode challenge stage “The Chosen Ones”, after that, start up and use his RB Special to gain limited boost stats (Atk, Def, Spd), note that you’ll have to do this every so often, also, here’s a whole roadmap to grind kills with Toki. Special > Move/Dash to any base > either use () Face-Breaking Fist of Compassion Sig (wave slicers that shoot straight, then diagonal) or use (3),(2) Combo (if you don’t have any sig power.) Then, makes sure you leave 49 kills in each base, since you can only kill 32 already generated enemies at a time in a base, then perform the FB-Fist Sig, and then move on to the next 7 bases once you see the Defense Captains (or those that don't have one). Note that the LV.2 Bases won’t have a defense captain and will claim the base. It’s best that you don’t do this, since your cavalry will decrease the number of enemies once they’re at a base. Leave and then go onto the rest of the bases, then take down the defense captains, and then the bosses Mad Sarge and Colonel. So yes, in math terms, 49 + 32 = 81 x 8 = 648 Minions + Defense Captains/Mad Sarge/Colonel = Over 650 each time you play the stage over and over. Yes, it might take a while, but this is the best spot to gain kills faster. Of course, there's an alternative, although you'll get fewer kills in the process, but might be a bit faster, play the Legend Mode chapter "Farewell, My Rival", where Ken will be on Kokuoh and trample minions out of your way, you'll get around 300-something kills every 3 minutes or so before they no longer respawn. --- Alternative: You can now buy the DLC "Challenge" episode "The Mighty Ken-Oh Army", which costs $1, in which you have 1 hour to kill as many enemies as you can, since they'll infinitely spawn until you defeat Raoh. Much easier...
Cinderkin
So if you don't care about achievements skip the first game and play this? Also I've been playing this on hard for no reason? Thanks for making a guide Neo
The Stray
Nevermind Cinder, already fit it all in, but yeah, I still care though, not skipping stuff, got both games and already completed them...And yes, difficulty doesn't matter, of course it'll earn you extra karma though. The Duke of Darkness
Good job on the guide Neo. How long does it take each time you play the stage for your kill method? I have a method that might be faster.
The Stray
If you're talking about the one with Ken in "Farewell, My Brother", don't, cause even though that's faster, you'll earn less kills anyways, about 300 something to be exact before they no longer respawn minions in 3-1/2 minutes. Doing the method provided as I mentioned, you can kill over 650 enemies in about 5-10 with Toki maxed out and using to quickly dash over and over. Yep thats the one, I'm getting 1200 kills every 15 minutes which is fast enough for me. Also your description of true saviour kinda looks like you're saying you have to get an A rank using the character that the quest belongs to, when you can just do it with your favorite character in free mode. EDIT: If your time estimation is based on what the game tells you at the end of the stage, you should know that game time and real time are not the same. I just did " The Chosen Ones" as fast as possible capturing the bases immediatley and killing the boss. The game says it took 3:05 when it actually took 4:30. The Stray
hi , thanks for the guide , i just wanna know where i can find level 7 scroll ???The only way you'll earn level 7 scrolls is if you max out your character, have the 4-scroll nexus to increase your odds at higher level scrolls, and play online (co-op) as well to earn them. It might take a while, but it'll be well worth it. You can find scrolls in game, and earn bonus ones, not too hard, you'll naturally get them anyways. davhuit
Alternative: You can now buy the DLC "Challenge" episode "The Mighty Ken-Oh Army", which is 80MSP in which you have 1 hour to kill as many enemies as you can, since they'll infinitely spawn until you defeat Raoh. Much easier... Yeah, it's probably the fastest way to do the remaining kills once everything else is done. I had 100 MS points unused on my account and didn't know what to do with them, so I just bought it and tested to play it 10 minutes to see how many kills I would do with a Kenshiro lvl +50 in attack mode (like most of us will have once the legend mode and Kenshiro's dream mode are finished). In 10 minutes, I managed to do 1600 kills. Not to mention as it's a dream mode mission, you can save anytime with the temporary save, though I would personally rather defeat Raoh from times to times to be sure the kills are saved. It roughly make ~10000 kills per hour. I'm already at 34000 and have probaby ~15 more characters to do in Dream Mode so I suppose you reach, at least, 45000 after everything is done (maybe even 50000 or more, depending if you played a lot online or not). So it would just require 5 hours (or less if you have more kills in your stats) in this DLC mission to get the 100000 kills.
JieXY
Some information on playing online for the JP version using a non-JP/Asian account: You need a JP console, the JP version game and a JP silver account (gold will do for sure). 1. Redeem your online pass using your JP silver account on the JP console. 2. Log in with your main profile on the JP console via profile downloading. 3. Enjoy. The online pass is the same as any DLCs, meaning it is tied to the account that redeems the code AND the FIRST console that the online pass is downloaded to, so any account on that FIRST console will be able to use it. davhuit
Yeah, it work for everything you can download, minor a few exceptions (probably some bugs). For example, the DLC "Nightmare in North Point" of "Sleeping Dogs" have a bug which prevent you to play it on another console, even if you are logged to the XBOX Live with the account which bought it. Only the console which bought it can play the DLC. And the Games on Demand were unplayable, even with the account which bought them, on another console until the last big dashboard update (the dashboard actually used by Microsoft, the one with the ads). I use that trick on my two XBOX 360 to have my content on both. My account is the main account of my first 360, the one who bought all the XBLA games/DLCs/Games on demand, and so my brother, who only play on this 360, have access to everything bought with my account. On my own 360 (the second one), I also have access to everything I bought as long as I'm connected to XBOX Live, and as this second 360 is always connected to the XBOX Live, that's not a problem. It also able me to do some co-op game with only one game bought (Games on Demand), as both account can play the game as the same time (the first 360 because the game has been bought on it, and the second 360 because my account is connected to the XBOX Live). It's not a surprise the Online pass are working the same as a DLC as the Online Pass is a DLC ^^

The Stray
Just did my first Dream Mode stage, I got a B, but I noticed the game doesn't tell you what grade you've completed the stages on, that's damn annoying. I've already mentioned this in the Description/Help for True Savior, since you said you got a "B" on the stage, a silver "Cleared" will be there, if you get "A's", a golden "Cleared" will be there, the game does keep track of your progress though, but to some confusion for some players though. SimonJK
If you are going to download 'Mighty Ken Oh Army', in my opinion, a Leveled Kaioh with a supremacy setup totally rocks! He has an signature move called 'Dark Gem Deadly Flame Ring' which destroys any body within a huge radius including any Base Defenders before they even appear most of the time (but not applicable in this case). You can stand by a base and fire it off every 5 to ten seconds for a full fifty kills and about every 2 usage it seem to kill enough for a full bar refill then you can quickly kill Raoh with a few unblockable ' Incineration of Ignorance'. I did two 30 minutes sessions and netted over 10,000 kills each time.
