Street Fighter X Tekken Mission Mode Guide

It appears that the new Mission Mode for Street Fighter X Tekken has been given a few people some problems so I posted this thread for helping everyone with the Mission Specialist achievement. Personally, I didn't find it to be impossibly difficult to clear all 20(especially with some tricks) but even some novices should be able to clear all 20 with some luck and the right strategy. Most intermediate players should be able to breeze through all 20 missions fairly easily with their best teams but any players that are here simply going for the achievement and need a cheap strategy can also use this guide. The following achievements can be unlocked in Mission Mode:

http://psnprofiles.com/lib/img/games/eb18e8/trophies/26Sd9a481.png http://psnprofiles.com/lib/img/games/eb18e8/trophies/27Sad9ac4.png

  1. The First Mission 10:gsicon: Clear one mission in Mission mode.

  2. Mission Specialist 30:gsicon: Clear all of the missions in Mission mode.

The enemy A.I in Mission Mode is much smarter in Mission Mode, however the Zangief technique is still just as useful when used properly. So for mission mode(with the exception of a few others missions) you'll want to use Zangief as your primary character and your best character as your secondary. Akuma is a pretty good second pick because of his Air-Fireball and Teleport which come in handy for later missions. Other than Akuma, Rolento also proves to be a worthy side kick because of his Patriot Circle attack! This thread also serves as discussion for mission Mode so feel free to post your strategies that helped you unlock the achievement as well.

----------------------------------------

Basic Mission Mode Strategy

----------------------------------------

Zangief Techniques

Here are the main moves you'll be using or spamming in Mission Mode for Zangief:

Double Lariat: http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216205617/streetfighter/images/5/58/Arcade_Button_Punch_x3.png(http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/lb.png)

This will be your "panic" move whenever the A.I decides to break out combos on you. This move is easy to abuse since all you have to do is press :lbbut: to do it. Hit your opponent with it and as they get up hit it again and repeat. Not all opponents will fall for it so easily, which is why it's important to move left and then right when doing it to catch opponents off guard.

Flying Powerbomb: http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216221828/streetfighter/images/d/d8/Arcade_Stick_360.png +http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216210110/streetfighter/images/e/e5/Arcade_Button_Kick.png (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/a.png, http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/b.png or http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rt.png)

Move the d-pad or joystick in a 360 motion followed by a kick button to have Zangief run towards his opponent and slam them to the ground. As your opponent gets up, jump upwards and press http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216221828/streetfighter/images/d/d8/Arcade_Stick_360.png followed by a kick once you land to grab them again. They will usually fall for this quite often. If you press and hold down the kick Zangief will open his arms out and will only go for the powerbomb once you release it which helps you time it better while the A.I is getting up. This is an extremely useful move because it actually keeps some of the more aggressive opponents at bay. It's only risky to use when facing other grappler such as Hugo or Marduk since they may grab you instead!

Banishing Flat(Green Hand): http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216221550/streetfighter/images/1/15/Arcade_Stick_S.png + http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216205555/streetfighter/images/2/21/Arcade_Button_Punch.png(http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/x.png, http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/y.png, or http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rb.png )

Zangief moves quite slow, but that's where this move comes in! Zangief is most deadly close up because you can use your Double Lariat or Powerbomb to devastate your opponent. So use this move to quickly get close to your opponent. You can also cancel this into your Flying Powerbomb as the A.I gets up!

Akuma Techniques

Akuma has the lowest health bar in the game, but that's why he is mainly used as your secondary character. You'll only tag Akuma in when Zangief is low on health and needs to heal up. Akuma also has an Air-Fireball and Teleport which helps with keep away tactics. If you have basic knowledge of how to use shotokan characters then he'll make a useful backup for Zangief.

Air-Fireball: http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216221456/streetfighter/images/3/32/Arcade_Stick_QCF.png + http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216205555/streetfighter/images/2/21/Arcade_Button_Punch.png(while in the air)

Keep backing up and jumping while pressing this air-born. Even though it inflicts little damage it helps keep the A.I away as you allow Zangief to rest.

Teleport: http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216221550/streetfighter/images/1/15/Arcade_Stick_S.png + http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216205617/streetfighter/images/5/58/Arcade_Button_Punch_x3.png (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/lb.png)

Whenever you are cornered this is a very ideal move to use to get away from the aggressive A.I. You can teleport toward and away depending on the d-pad motions you use.

==============================

Mission 1: First Communication

Level: 1

Conditions: Win with only special moves

==============================

Recommended Gems: http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/8877/2zecmt4copy.png Super Easy Input

Strategy: Trivial Mission. Simply select Ryu, Ken, or anybody else with a good crouching heavy attack of your choice. Get close to Balrog and crouch. Hit Heavy Kick (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rt.png) and he'll usually fall for it after enough tries. Try to avoid angled jumps against Balrog because he will hit you with buffalo headbutts if you do. Only worry is him tagging in a fresh Steve, then the possibility of a time-out can become a problem. With enough luck though you can probably crouch heavy Steve to death within the time limit.

===============================

Mission 2: Critical Strike

Level: 1

Conditions: Win with only special moves

===============================

Strategy: This one should be very easy since you can simply Zangief spam using http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/lb.png(Spinning Lariat).

=================================

Mission 3: A Real Tag Team

Level: 2

Conditions: Do a 15 hit combo with a Switch.

Time: 60

=================================

Recommended Gems: http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/8877/2zecmt4copy.pngSuper Easy Input

Strategy: Select Rolento and Ken in that order. At the start of the match hit Rolento's Patriot Circle (http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216221456/streetfighter/images/3/32/Arcade_Stick_QCF.png+ http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rb.png) 3 times in succession and on the third one quickly switch out by pressing http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/y.png+ http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/b.png. Ken will come out. While your opponent is still air-born quickly hit a delayed Fierce Shoryuken by pressing http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216221550/streetfighter/images/1/15/Arcade_Stick_S.png+ http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rb.png.

Yoshimitsu moves around a lot and it can be quite tricky to hit this on him at times. If he happens to tag King in then it should be slightly easier since King is less jumpy. Don't expect to get 15-hits on your first try, this may take multiple attempts. Delay the Fierce Shoryuken as much as possible and also make sure you use the fierce version of Rolento's Patriot Circle with http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rb.png . There is a more skilled based method in the video below. Checking the video comments for more tips can help also.

==============================

Mission 4: The Four Kings

Level: 1

Conditions : Defeat all of your opponents

==============================

Breakdown: You must defeat all 4 members of Shadowlaw and their health has increased making them substantially tougher. Also, there is a 99 second time limit for each one and failing to KO them within the time limit will result in failure.

Strategy: Pick Zangief and Akuma for this. You want to spam Zangief's Powerbomb move by pressing http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216221828/streetfighter/images/d/d8/Arcade_Stick_360.png + http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216210110/streetfighter/images/e/e5/Arcade_Button_Kick.png. If you hold http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216210110/streetfighter/images/e/e5/Arcade_Button_Kick.png down Zangief will be invincible shortly, allow your enemy to get close then let go of kick to grab them and slam them to the ground. Use http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/lb.png as your panic move or to get your foe on the ground. Once you get to Sagat he will spam Tiger Shots. You need to get in close by possibly using Banishing Flat(http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216221550/streetfighter/images/1/15/Arcade_Stick_S.png + http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216205555/streetfighter/images/2/21/Arcade_Button_Punch.png). Don't jump towards him because he'll Tiger Uppercut you. Next up is Bison, who loves to spam scissor kicks and psycho crushers. Back up and wait to block one of his special moves before punishing him. You can use the Powerbomb on him or simply spam your Lariat on him as he gets up, that seems to work quite well.

==============================================

Mission 5: Attack? Defend?

Level 2

Conditions: Defeat your opponent.

Time: 30

Other: 50% Vitality Start, Opponent: Regenrating Health Gauge

==============================================

Strategy: Trivial mission. Use Zangief's Lariat or Powerbomb if you wish. Abel and Rolento will not hesitate to run their Cross Assault on you so quickly spam Lariat to clear this seemingly tricky mission.

===================================================

Mission 6: Penetrating Eyes

Level: 2

Conditions: Win with only counter hits

Time: 99

Other: 50% Vitality Start, Max Gauge Start, Opponent: Max Gauge Start

===================================================

Strategy: You must defeat Dhalsim with only counter attacks. Anything else will inflict no damage. Counter hits are any attacks that you connect while Dhalsim is attacking. Dhalsim will teleport a lot and hit his Super Art when you least expect it. You can probably Zangief spam lariat on him and hope he attacks before getting him or use your most comfortable character. Don't forget to switch out when low on health and let your partner have a stab at him. 99 seconds is plenty of time to fool around and hopefully KO him.

Another method is to select Ogre for this mission and use his Ancient Power move(http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216221550/streetfighter/images/1/15/Arcade_Stick_S.png + http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216205555/streetfighter/images/2/21/Arcade_Button_Punch.png). Credit goes to CoregBlue for this method. You can also use the Dhalsim strategy provided below.

=============================

Mission 7: Girls Only!

Level: 2

Conditions: Defeat all of your opponents

Time: 99

=============================

Breakdown: You defeat the 5 teams of Lili/Julia, Nina/Cammy, Ibuki/Asuka, Xiaoyu/Chun Li, and then Juri/Poison. Your health will regenerate between rounds.

Strategy: The enemy A.I for this mission isn't too bad. However, this doesn't mean they won't decimate you with combos! Zangief works well in this regard. Spam his same moves and have your 2nd best character tag in if Zangief gets low on health.

===========================================

Mission 8: Special Battle!

Level: 2

Condition: Win using only Super Arts.

Time: 60

Other: Regenerating Health, Opponent: Regenerating Gauge

===========================================

Breakdown: You will be facing off against the team of Ryu and Kazuya where only Super Arts will inflict any damage.

Strategy: Pick a character with a ranged projectile type Super Art such as Ryu and his Shinku hadoken. It can be performed by pressing http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216221456/streetfighter/images/3/32/Arcade_Stick_QCF.png+ http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/lb.png and since you have infinite meter you can spam them all you want. You want to use your Super Fireball sparingly because Ryu and Kazuya will jump over it and capitalize on you. So step away and fire away when you see Ryu shoot a fireball or Kazuya go for an attack.

======================

Mission 9: Don't Be Stubborn

Level: 3

Time: 99

======================

Breakdown: You must defeat the 3 teams of Rufus/Bob, Marduk/Hugo, and Zangief/Kuma.

Strategy: Nothing to this one but Marduk can be annoying. Your power bomb works much better than your Lariat on him. As for Zangief/Kuma, stand 2 paces away from Zangief and on wake up hit http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/lb.png for your lariat. He'll usually try to hit banishing flat on you but will get him by your lariat in the process.

==============================

Mission 10: The Last Stand

Level: 3

Conditions: Defeat your opponent

Time: 30

Other: 25% Vitality Start, Max Gauge Start

==============================

Breakdown: You must defeat Jin with only 25% health. He has 50% health and you get a full meter to start.

Strategy: The only sole person preventing you from clearing this mission is Jin. Defeat him by normal means, he is trivial.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UV7iQlW_t9s&feature=related]Street Fighter X Tekken: Mission 10 - The Last Stand - YouTube[/ame]

==============================

Mission 11: Championship Turbo

Level: 3

Conditions: Defeat all of your opponents.

Time: 99

==============================

Breakdown: Must defeat the 3 teams of Xiaoyu/Raven, Chun Li/Cammy, and Vega/Bison.

Strategy: This mission has some annoying parts but overall not too daunting. You may find yourself perfecting Xiayou on some rounds using the lariat. Avoid over-using the lariat on Vega though as he will use his backflip kick on you. Powerbomb works much better on him.

==============================

Mission 12: Raging Assault

Level: 4

Conditions: Win using only Cross Assault

Time: 99

Other: Max Gauge Start

==============================

Breakdown: You must defeat the team of Rufus and Bob and they will only receive damage while you're in Cross Assault mode which can be triggered by pressing http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216221528/streetfighter/images/9/9d/Arcade_Stick_QCB.png+ :ybut:+:bbut:

Strategy: There are 2 basic strategies to this. First is to use Akuma and Zangief in that order and activate Cross Assault by pressinghttp://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216221528/streetfighter/images/9/9d/Arcade_Stick_QCB.png + :ybut: + :bbut: . You'll be in control of Zangief and you'll want to spam lariat until Rufus dies. If you fail to KO him then you can try and get your meter back up and try again or simply restart the mission since it's very possibly to KO him with just 1 Cross Assault, just takes a bit of luck.

Second strategy is to use Hugo with certain equip-able gems as seen below. If you fail to KO Rufus you can spam his Monster lariat with http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216221456/streetfighter/images/3/32/Arcade_Stick_QCF.png+ http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216210110/streetfighter/images/e/e5/Arcade_Button_Kick.png to get your meter up and finish them with a Second Cross Assault if you have to.

==================================================

Mission 13: Catch Me If You Can

Level: 4

Conditions: Win via Time out.

Time: 60

Other: 25% Vitality start, Max Gauge Start, Opponent: Regenerating Gauge

==================================================

Breakdown: You must survive for 60 seconds against the team of Guile and Law. You only have 25% health but with max gauge and your opponents have regenerating health. KO'ing either Guile or Law will result in failure.

Strategy: Two methods for this mission. The first involves a cat and mouse strategy with Akuma. Select him and use his Teleport(http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216221550/streetfighter/images/1/15/Arcade_Stick_S.png , :lbbut:)to keep away from Guile. Guile is fairly stationary and will mainly shoot sonic booms at you. You have the options of teleporting backwards through these, jumping over them and let them pass under you, or counter with a Gouhadoken. If Law gets tagged in be extremely careful because he will attack, attack, attack. Be prepared for Cross Assaults too because they occur quite frequently. Keep timing your teleports and with enough attempts, you will stay alive long enough to see time expire to 00.

Defensive Method

You'll want to select Zangief and Kuma for this for their big health bars and equip them with defense gems. When the mission starts simply back away from Guile and block the whole time. Once Zangief's health is low switch to Kuma and let him finish the rest of the time limit. A video of this method being done is provided below.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGXc386JVPw&feature=relmfu]Street Fighter X Tekken: Mission 13 - Catch Me If You Can - YouTube[/ame]

===========================

Mission 14: Mishima Bloodlines

Level: 3

Conditions: Defeat all of your opponents.

Time: 99

Other: Opponent: Max Gauge Start

===========================

Breakdown: You must defeat the the 3 solo opponents of Jin, Kazuya and Heihachi each starting with a max cross meter.

Strategy: As always, for novices, you can take Zangief and Akuma into this fight. Zangief for spamming Lariat and Powerbombs. Akuma for Air-fireballs and any other means of offense. Jin is quite the pushover and falls for both the lariat and power bomb most of the time. Start the match with banishing flat to get you passed his red projectile he likes to throw.

Next up is Kazuya and he is very aggressive offensively, he will even guard most of your attacks and capitalize with some of his own. Start by backing up and waiting to see what he does first. When you see him attacking try to sneak your lariat in on him. As he gets up try to hit it again on wake up until he's down. He'll be kicking you around quite often in between all this so don't hesitate to switch to Akuma to let Zangief rest. This may take several attempts.

Last, there is Heihachi who has high priority moves that can break through your lariat at times. Lariat still works on him but play it safe and start the fight by backing up. See what he does first then lariat when you can. The power bomb works as well if you prefer that. Also I found that low attacks from Akuma work as he only blocks them half the time. There's also a Rolento/ Balrog strategy below if you know how to use them.

==========================================

Mission 15: Done and Done

Level: 5

Conditions: Defeat your opponent.

Time: 99

Other: Max Gauge Start, Opponent: Regenerating Vitality

==========================================

Breakdown: You must defeat the team of Juri and Hwoarang with their health constantly regenerating.

Strategy: Very easy mission. Zangief spamming works well here. Just use the same moves in your arsenal as always.

============================

Mission 16: Curse of Pandora

Level: 4

Conditions: Win using only Pandora

Time: 60

Other: 25% Vitality Health Start

============================

Breakdown: You must defeat the team of Law and Ken in Pandora Mode. Any attacks landed outside of Pandora Mode will inflict no damage.

Recommended Gems:http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/3626/4q35aqcopy.png Immense Power, http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/2817/wgtevqcopy.pngDivine Speed.

Strategy: Assign some Immense Power and Divine Speed Gems to Hugo first. Now select Kuma and Hugo as your team for this mission. At the very start of the mission hit http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100715150739/streetfighter/images/1/15/Arcade-Stick-Down.png, http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100715150739/streetfighter/images/1/15/Arcade-Stick-Down.png, http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/y.png+http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/b.png to sacrifice Kuma and bring Hugo in. Hit Law with a crouching heavy kick with http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100715150739/streetfighter/images/1/15/Arcade-Stick-Down.png + http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rt.png first. Then you'll want to use Hugo's Moonsault Press by pressing http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216221828/streetfighter/images/d/d8/Arcade_Stick_360.png+ http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rt.png on Law before your Pandora meter is up. If you hit it maybe once or twice it may be enough to get the KO as seen below.

Mission 17: Lets Get Physical

Level: 4

Conditions: Defeat all of your opponents.

Time: 99

==============================

Breakdown: You must defeat all 4 of the grappler characters in succession. The includes King, Hugo, Marduk, and Zangief last.

Recommended Gems: http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/8946/259y4o5copy.pngHarmonize

Strategy: This is arguably one of the more difficult missions, possibly top 3 hardest next to 4 and 19. As mentioned before, you'll want to use Zangief again for this along with your best character or Akuma. King will present few problems for you, he'll eat the lariat for breakfast.

Your second opponent Hugo, however is extremely difficult to deal with at times. If you try to lariat him on wake up he'll simply grab you. If you try to power bomb him he will still sneak Moonsault presses on you. Never jump against Hugo because he'll jump grab you into a backbreaker near every time. Look for safe openings and spam air fireballs with Akuma when you can to take him down. This fight may come down to the wire at times before the clock expires!

Next is Marduk who is even more annoying. He has 2 moves he likes to do and they have god-like priority. He's tackle and punch move and his charge punch which has invincible start up frames. You may use the lariat on him at your own risk but the power bomb seems to work much better. Keep power bombing him on wake up and he should go down fairly easy.

Last is Zangief. He is actually a slightly harder version of King. Main tip here, keep your distance from this guy. He will get in and piledrive you before you know it. He'll also be using his banishing flat(green hand) move to get close so that's why it's wise to stay two paces away from him and spam lariat, hoping he'll walk right into it for the finish.

Below is a video walkthrough of the mission being cleared. If you don't know how to use Rolento or Balrog then at least some of the strategies here may help.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juTUBB6AQXc&list=UUU1hP4-jO5aVzU6Jqx9pg8A&index=5&feature=plpp_video]Street Fighter x Tekken Mission 17: Lets Get Physical - YouTube[/ame]

=====================

Mission 18: Ferocious Instinct

Level: 5

Conditions:

Time: 99

Other: Max Gauge Start

=======================

Recommended Gems: http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/2817/wgtevqcopy.pngSpeed Movement

Breakdown: You must defeat Kuma without taking any damage(Perfect).

Strategy: There are many ways of going about this mission. Akuma is great since you can air fireball and teleport away from Kuma when he corners you. But air fireballs are pretty weak and it may come down to you tagging in Zangief to sneak in big damage on him before the time runs out. Not the easiest strategy for this mission but it can work with some luck.

There is also a method you can use by selecting Hugo. Kuma will spam his roll move and this will be your chance to use Hugo's Meat Squasher move by pressing http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216221828/streetfighter/images/d/d8/Arcade_Stick_360.png + http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216210110/streetfighter/images/e/e5/Arcade_Button_Kick.png. Keep backing away and using it until he goes down.

===========================

Mission 19: Being Beyond Human

Level: 5

Conditions: Defeat all of your opponents.

Time: 99

Other: Opponent: Regenerating Gauge

==============================

Breakdown: You must defeat Ogre and then Akuma. Both have unlimited cross meter along with regenerating health gauges.

Strategy: The most difficult part of this mission is downing Akuma mainly, Ogre you will eventually learn how to get by with ease. Your first opponent Ogre can be aggressive at times but sometimes you may even perfect him when using Zangief's Powerbomb or Lariat. He will however teleport when you knock him down so lariat immediately once he's knocked down to be safe. Ogre's A.I appears to vary, sometimes you'll easily beat him while other times he'll prove to be quite trouble some. He will go for his Super Art on some occasions as well so be careful.

In the next round you'll face Akuma who is possibly the most difficult opponenet you have to face in all of Mission Mode. Akuma fights similar to Shin Akuma, plus he has infinite meter so he'll be spamming Misogi on you at his leisure. The Misogi can be blocked, just make sure he doesn't land directly above you. Also, when Akuma activates Misogi you can tag out by pressing http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/y.png+http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/b.png and let your partner take the Misogi if you're already low on health. The lariat seems to work much better on Akuma than the power bomb. But you may need to get lucky to hit it enough times to KO him since he'll possibly be going ape-crazy on you at this point. If you happen to get a full Cross Gauge, it wouldn't be a bad idea to land some Super or Cross Arts on him yourself if possible.

===========================

Mission 20: Crazy Crossover

Level: 5

Conditions: Defeat all of your opponents.

Time: 99

==============================

Recommended Gems: http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/8946/259y4o5copy.pngHarmonize

Breakdown: You must defeat all 18 special tag teams in Street Fighter X Tekken followed by the team of Akuma and Ogre. If either of your teammates are KO'ed it will result in failure and having to start all over again.

Strategy: This is a lengthy mission but luckily it's the final one! Mission 20 is a survival-type mission where you must defeat every team in the game without losing. Most teams are pretty much pushovers but if you use the same strategies throughout the guide you'll get this one with time. The major trick to this one is to save as much health as possible for the later fights, which is why a Harmonize Gem can be very helpful here. After defeating the first 18 initial teams, you will face the final team of Akuma and Ogre in the 19th match. Don't worry, they're not in their Super forms as they were in Mission 19. Defeat them to clear the mission. Below is a video of Mission 20 being done and can be helpful if you're looking for a startegy to clear it efficiently.

i will post 2 helpful hints that helped me.

13. where you must win via time out i used akuma and spammed the forward teleport through them then id jump backwards then do a forward teleport to the other side then jump back. it was cake doing it this way especially with law since he doesnt have a projectile.

19. akuma is the major issue here so getting to him with as much health as possible is key. you can actually glitch ogre to where you can keep doing the full circle + hk move where zangief runs in then slams him. if you time it right as soon as ogre gets up zangief will grab him instantly and a lot of the time ogre just lets it happen. i beat akuma by usin zangief and ryu as soon as the fight began id switch to ryu and jump fireballs and do a 2-3 hit combo and then when i got akuma low enough id do the cross move where you tag team d, df, f + mp+mk. it took me a while to get it but once i got it it felt good. as for gems i didnt use any specific ones for any missions lol i just used geif and ryu mostly.

nice guide though this would of helped a few days ago hahah JK. hope my couple tips help some.

For Mission 13, I used your Akuma strategy myself! However when posting the guide, I wanted to find strategies that went along with some of the videos. The Akuma tele-port one is helpful though so I will go back and add it in!

For Mission 19, as mentioned, Akuma is the true threat. Most people will probably use Zangief and Ryu(or Ken, Akuma) for these missions regardless since they're easy to use. Super Akuma will spam in the beginning as you said so switching to get in doesn't hurt. You could always Lariat through the fireballs though! :p

I also found Zangief's Banishing Flat move to be a good zoning method as well to get in close. I didn't emphasize doing Cross Assalts much in the guide but the damage for them can be quite rewarding. But they never seem to do enough damage when you pull some off even Akuma's Misogi. The A.I has so much health in this mode.

nice guide though this would of helped a few days ago hahah JK. hope my couple tips help some.

Lol hey give me a break, the game is 4 days old! :p

Well... not that I really want to admit it but...

Rolento :boom :ass(why is there even a smiley for this)

He is a glass cannon... but man his Patriot Circle attack is a ridiculously useful secondary to Gief spam. Combine it with 2 Immense Power Lv. 1s and 1 Immense Power Lv. 2s and his PC is pretty much a hot knife on butter. His range on his attacks is good enough that its pretty safe against the AI.

Great for matches in which he is only needed for 1 battle.

Just finished all missions. The worst by far were levels 17 and 19 for me. Got lvl. 20 on my second try.

My bread and butter combo except for Gief lariat spam is Rolento's c.mk into triple Patriot Circle, followed up by a c.HK (slide). If you have the meter, do his super art after the Patriot Circle. The AI will usually block the first two hits if it managed to block the c.MK, which only means less damage scaling and more damage from your super, which is a good thing.

For level 3, I used Rolento and Steve. Simply do a c/MK into Patriot Circle, tag in during the third part and do a slightly delayed super art with Steve. 23 hits.

For level 19: after you activate the last of Akuma's gems, which is another healing gem that regenerates his life bar stupidly fast, you have to make sure that you NEVER get hit by Misogi again. It's a good 15 second animation and he will regenerate NEARLY HALF HIS LIFEBAR in that time. Although the lifebar isn't on screen, the gem's healing powers are still very much in effect. I strongly suggest using Rolento's B&B combo or looking for openings with Gief and using lariat or a Powerbomb after you block his Tatsumaki.

His favorite dick move is to Misogi when you tag into your partner. To avoid this, block a Misogi, use the vulnerable frames to jump HK him and combo into LP, MP, HP, HK to tag your partner in.

Hi guys

I Completed missions mode yesterday. Here is what I did to complete a lot of them.

PS - this is a cheap method which involves little skill.

TEAM = Hugo and Zangief

Gems = Gem 90 ( Fortitude lvl 1 - Incured Damage Cut +100 - connect with 3 special moves)

Gem 10 ( Immense Power Lvl 2 - Damage output +20% - connect with 4 special moves )

Gem 161 ( life force Lvl 1 - Vitality gradual restoration +80 - Get hit by 2 special moves )

Choose Hugo first , then Zangief.

As the round starts do the following move : 41236 HK - from here there are 2 things to do..

1- If opponent does a techincal ( gets up quick ) do the first move again.

2- If opponent stays down do the following move : 41236 HK ( HOLD down HK until it becomes a special move)

When it comes to grapplers like King etc , switch to zangief and just keep pushing LB to do the lariat. If its hugo however space it well and do some switch combo's,

Keep in mind for mission 20 you will fight every team. For the last 3 teams I just used Zangief's lariet to finish them off. If Hugo's health gets low be sure to switch zangief in.

It took me 3 attempts to get mission 20 done. The other ones where you must finish certain opponents goes real quick.

Other quick tips :

Mission 3 : A real Tag-Team

Easiest way i found was to pick rolento and ryu. and here is the move for the combo

Rolento - 236 HP , 236 HP , 236 HP ( Switch must be during the last 236 HP ) Ryu - 236 3 x punch ( special move )

Mission 13 : Catch me if you can

I used the same setup as above ( hugo and Zangief ). I just ducked and blocked. Make sure you hit Guile as well as law with one lp , the rest of the time just duck and block.

Mission 19 : Beyond Being Human

Use Zangief and his lariet against Ogre , then for akuma only attack after he does a special with either Zangief or Hugo.

If you want any other mission specific help let me know and I will post what I did to pass it.

Hope this helps someone out there :-)

First of all, I would like to thanks everybody who posted in this thread and of course FeLizP, you really helped me!

Well, I finally dit it! Here are some tips and methods I used.

17. Zangief/Kazuya.

Gems used: Zangief > 161, 90, 10. Kazuya > 88, 2, 3 (because you'll use a lot of combo, regular moves)

-King: I used Zangief's Double Lariat (LB), juste pick up the good timing when your opponent is on the ground.

-Hugo: I started with Zangief Down, Backyard + MK (B), if you get the good timing, you'll can charge it. When Zangief gets too much hits, switch to Kazuya and "spam" (one more time with a good timing) his LP, MP, MK, LK (X, Y, B, A) -tips from ACEMLC-. Rush your opponent to the wall and he won't block you, trust me, AI really don't like this combo! When your Cross bar is charged, unleashed your best Arts to finish them off!

-Marduk: The hardest one for me, I did the same thing as above, Zangief, then Kazuya to finish him. Watch out for his jump move (when he rush at you and beat your face on the ground), such a pain .. u_u'

-Zangief: For the last big guy, I mixed pretty much the same methods as above. Zangief standard moves (Double Lariat and Down, Back, MK) works pretty well here, do not let him hits you!

19. Zangief/Rolento.

Gems used: Zangief > 161, 90, 10. Rolento > 161, 90, 10.

-Ogre: I used Zangief's Double Lariat (LB) -yeah again!- and Rolento's Patriot Circle (Down, Forward + HP [RB]), if you have enough charge you can chain it with his Super Arts. For me, it's a good "advantage" to reach Akuma with full health. Trust me, after a few tries, sometimes the green guy won't ever touch you.

-Akuma: Here it is .. The Super Ultra Mega Akuma Alpha ++ HD Remix X God! Damn, he's a PAIN. I used Zangief Zangief's Double Lariat (LB) -Last time, I promise!- and spam, spam, spam, spam him. Try to stuck him to the walls, and with luck you'll hit him before he launch his godlike powers. Be careful when his health becomes lower, his Gem will heal him in no time so don't do your Arts at this time. I lost many times at the last hit, he's able to launch his Art, take you down AND relaunch his same Art before you could do any movement .. 3 hours to do it, lot a luck, sometimes the AI will spam Art at his first attack, sometimes it will take every of your attacks. Pretty weird, but with luck and patience you'll be able to take him DOWN! Don't forget to switch for your second character, Rolento's combos and Patriot Circle works both pretty well. When his last Gem expires, unleash your Cross or Super Arts, this time he won't heal himself.

Here is a link for another strategy, pretty similar to Kazuya's combo: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1TllWgAGNE&list=UUrPvUkv9oYcLrLbjDmTJCGQ&index=1&feature=plcp]Street Fighter x Tekken: Mission 17 strategy - YouTube[/ame]

20. Zangief/Rolento.

Gems used: Zangief > 161, 90, 10. Rolento > 161, 90, 10.

This mission isn't that hard, but you can lose quickly. I used same methods as above. Try to avoid most of your opponents attacks to keep most HP as possible for next matches. In this one AI have a normal health bar, it seems that your opponents are easier to beat than 17th or 19th I think. The most difficult part is the second half of the roster, be careful. Take your time and you'll success.

Hope it will helps a little. I didn't write this to gain any credits, just to share with you what I did to pass this mission mode. Trust me I love fighting games but I'm not really good at it, so if I can do it, you can too. Be patient, don't broke your controller, breathe, retry and it will pass. Good luck.

Akuma I hate you. ;_;

i just finished all the missions and i thought i should offer some advice.

i used zangief and kazuya and honestly kazuya helped WAY more than zangief. i had a lot of trouple with "the four kings" mission. everyone would pawn zangief.

i used kazuya's LP, MP, HK, LK combo. do that over, and over, and over as they wake up. the computer has trouble blocking that combo. the HK hits low and the LK hits high. so when the computer would block high the HK would hit then the LK would hit for 2, or the com would block low and the LK would hit for 1. i also used 2 +20 % immense power gems that activated at 10 normal hits cause all i would do was that combo.

even for the last mission i used kazuya as my main and zangief as my sub and finished it on my second try. it worked for me as i hope it works for other pple. good luck all.

Mission 17

Very easy way to beat Hugo is to knock him down then walk away and when you're far away from him and do a little forward backward motion fast he thinks you're going to jump and goes for air throw then punish :) I use zangief against him but I'm sure any character goes because he seems to be doing it always when you're far away.

Still f*cking hate this mission... marduk blocks that kazuya combo everytime and zangief just pds me from any distance...

Stay free everyone who has to use Gief to do missions. Marduk/Hugo made this a BREEZE. Lariat spam? Scrubs.

Hoping I read your post right but the purpose of the methods and techniques presented in the guide has nothing to do so with skill, finesse, or anything pro-related but rather to the easiest and most effective way to earn the Mission Specialist achievement. It has nothing to do with being a scrub. If you don't have to resort to these methods for the achievement then good for you, but not everyone plays for the same reasons.

Save our real-play strategies for Evo Tournaments not for calling anyone who uses lesser methods a scrub. Aside from that, your Marduk/Hugo team seems to be a helpful combo, I'll see if I can add that into the guide somewhere!

i just can´t beat akuma in mission 19. tried for the last 3 hours.

even if i perfect ogre, he always counters everything i do with misogi. he even did 3 in a row and the chip damage is insane. is there a way to avoid misogi completely?

I tend to do a backward jump and block and the chip damage is very small since you are away from the main splash of the damage. It only took me an hour to beat mission 19. Mission # 17 on the other hand... I wanted to smash my tv lol. Took me hundreds of tries. So glad I dont have to deal with that again.

just got it. i don´t have any advice, after 3 hours of zangief and hugo i chose my main team jin/julia and after like the 10th try i got him. important was to finish ogre without loosing too much life. i could get a few nice combos on akuma with special step when he did his gohadoken.

it really amuses me right now how often i blocked low out of reflex when he did his misogi and screwed up because of this.

i read that many had trouble with 17, i got it on my first try but 19 took me a total of 4 hours now. my advice would be, stick to your main team and cross-up the hell out of him with nice combos. finally all done, now its time to enjoy the game again lol

still, thanks ferrara

I finally finished. Most mission are easy but mission 17 is the worst I hate Zangief. My advice for mission 17, King is really easy, Hugo just stay back let him make a mistake and punish, Marduk pick a character that has multiple hit normal moves e.g. Rolento his medium punch so if he uses armour moves you will pass right through, Zangief just pick a character with a good cross up and then knock him down and cross him up he will just take the hit but he might block so get ready to neutral jump to avoid the SPD. Also make sure you use your meter for cross arts ( http://media.eventhubs.com/images/sf3/sf3_joy_qcf.png + http://media.eventhubs.com/images/moves/punch_medium.png + http://media.eventhubs.com/images/moves/kick_medium.png ) because they are really strong and do a lot of damage and remove the sub health.

The team I used was Rolento/Marduk (my main team). When fighting Marduk in mission 17 with Rolento use this off the wall move http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216221528/streetfighter/images/9/9d/Arcade_Stick_QCB.png + http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081216210110/streetfighter/images/e/e5/Arcade_Button_Kick.png and then press http://media.eventhubs.com/images/moves/punch_medium.png this move hits multiple times so it will stop Marduk spinning back fist.

Thanks for the guide FeLizP!

Just finished it myself.

The last 4 were really painful to do. #17 more than anything else! VeNNoM, thanks for the input on 17. Kazuya really helped on that one. And for #18 the tip for Hugo worked too. #19 was a pain in the a$$. I got it though, after about 20 tries. #20 I thought was not that hard. Got it in 2 tries.

Also got a tip for #2:

Use M.Bison, add Immense Power gems when he connects with 3/4 Special moves, and just use his Psycho Crusher/EX Crusher. Got it under 20 seconds and got the Gold Trophy, too!
