Wer Bn
Hello guys I can't install disc2. I've tried many ways. 15GB free in HDD. Tried to install online, offline, cleared the cache but nothing works. Tried to boot from disc1, and swap to disc2, like it tells you to, but jumps to dashboard. Stops at 80% and at the Dashboard I can see 1.4GB of Halo4 corrupted files. Happened to anyone but me?
thashadyone
Happened to anyone but me? Happened to me too, bruh. It's disheartening to see that there's not an easy fix to this. This is actually the first time I'd seen someone else with this problem. My installation never even starts and I definitely have the space. MyRifleIsBroken
Try exchanging the disc where you bought it from or maybe buy a new console?
F0RcEx
Trade with a friend? After installation, the disc in pretty much useless.
thashadyone
Buy an entirely new console because this game won't install? Haaaaaaaaaaaa But I'm going to try and play around with it tonight to see if there's something I can do short of making the exchange. If not, will exchange it tomorrow. Xathlak
Weird. I put disc 2 in the tray and didn't even get the option to install. I figured it was special features.

I just shrugged, and moved on to play the game. Unless I'm missing something, I'm guessing installing Disc 1 is good enough?
thashadyone
Did that let you play the campaign only or were you able to play multiplayer?
MyRifleIsBroken
Disc 1 is Campaign Disc 2 is Infinity so MP/Spartan Ops When you load up disc 2 you are forced to install it and you see a white bar at the bottom of the screen, doesn't even say what's going on but when it fill up you get told to put disc 1 back in and they you can play MP

lfPetrini
Same for me.. but mine bar fills up until the end, and after a message pops up telling it failed. When I check in the file system there are about 1.9 GB corrupted.. I could try to exchange the DVD but with the several similar cases related in many forums I'm not sure if the problem is really in the DVD. Burnout x360a
That's odd, I didn't have any issues myself aside from not being sure how one would go about installing disc 2 so I had to google it.
FighterHawk
i just assumed the second disc was multiplayer. i guess i have to install it later
ViNyLek
i just assumed the second disc was multiplayer. i guess i have to install it later Guess I'm lucky it went without hiccup, though I have Reach limited ed console, so it's probably more compatible with Halo Games (J/K for all of not so bright users...). I installed first disc out of dashboard, but when I tried to do it for second it wouldn't work. So I fired it up and had an option to install content (which took rougly 10mins) and swap back to first disc to play. By the way I wish AC3 did the same thing. Tell me: is your console a Slim with a hdd from the older one? Or a older one with a hdd from the Slim? Because I phoned microsoft and the guy told me the problem could be that, and I have a 60GB hdd in a Slim. I'm gonna check if the disc works in another console. Clueless
It sounds like you have a bad sector in your hard disk. Try to download and 'fill up' that memory to the 4 GB size with downloaded content (big demos) Basically the 4GB worth of downloads will be saved within that bad sector, freeing up a good sector for you to now install to. Now try installing the Halo 4 Disc 2 If it worked, awesome! You can delete all the demos now. Hope this fixes it! Cheers!
Robobeast76
I installed disc 2 before even putting in disc 1 - maybe delete all files and start again? If you have any campaign saves put them to a USB
LordDVS
And now I understand how it works. I was trying originally to install the disc via Dashboard like I did disc 1. I beat campaign, and went to start Infinity and tossed in Disc 2 like it prompted. Was weird, as it booted me to the Dashboard when I ejected the game. It installed fine after disc 2 loaded, then prompted me to replace with Disc 1, which booted me again *sigh* So, everything works fine now. I'm guessing Disc 2 was only needed for some obligatory installation? Also, I noticed when I was asked to install, it gave option to install from Disc 2, OR online/Live. So... you really never needed the 2nd disc (other than convenience)?

I'm still not sure if it's the DVD, it wouldn't make sense, there aren't any scratches and I'm not the only one with the issue
smurfwedge
Just in case more people battle with this, there is another option that I used last night When you have disc 1 in, and you go to MP, you have the option, once you click Infinity or Spartan Ops to download from XBL for free Also if you dont have the space like I did, you can download one or the other MP, Forge and Theatre are one file of 1.93GB (Approx) Spartan Ops is another file of 1.56GB (Approx) So if your space is short you can download one or the other depending on your preference Using the disc u cant do this as it wants to install everything Worked a treat as I played MP using this download last night as I didnt have the space to install everything.......now to free up some space for Spartan Ops....hmmmmm damn 20GB HDD Hope this helps someone
