*SPOILERS* Achievement Walkthrough *SPOILERS*

As you probably expected, here's my Speed-Run Achievement Walkthrough for LucasArt™'s amazing Let's Monkey Island™ 2: LeChuck™'s Revenge Special Edition 2010 HD Live Online Evolved Ultra Deluxe Super Turbo Plus EX Alpha The New Challenges XIII Classic Neo Arcade Reloaded (or MI™2 for short). This walkthrough will net you all 12 achievements in as quick a time as I could possibly muster. (Other, and definitely superior, speed-run walkthroughs are also available!) Make sure you skip ALL cutscenes, by holding [Y], and as many conversations as you can; just keep holding the [Y] button when conversing. This won't help a great deal when going for the SPEED DEMON achievement as you will easily complete the whole game under 3 hours even if you don't! (NOTE: Skipping some dialogue will result in whole sections of narrative being skipped; eg. at the very beginning, if you skip the dialogue with Largo LeGrande, you will skip his entire mugging scene and start in the middle of the bridge as if nothing had happened!)

There are some extra BOLD bits in square-brackets: These are for you to note down useful snippets of information (like the winning wheel number, Sunken Monkey co-ordinates, the song verses, etc) which means you don't have to remember them and have to hunt for the answer when you invariably forget them! (The only puzzle you have to remember yourself is the Phatt island cottage brick puzzle!)

 

As ever, I'd recommend PRINTING OUT this walkthrough and ticking off each line as you finish it! SAVE OFTEN and in different slots... blah... blah... blah... you all should be extremely aware of the deal by now, infact many of you could be married to the deal or, at the very least, sleeping with them!

 

72.316% of the conversations have been removed and, because of this, you will not get the full comedic experience of Ron Gilbert™'s second (and final) outing of our unfortunate, idiotic and blatantly useless piratey protagonist, guy.brush Threepwood™: Mighty Pirate™. You will not hear the brilliant Dominic Armato™, the beautiful Alexandra Boyd™ and the simply bloody amazing Earl Boen™... as well as all the other, equally talented, voice actors and all their great, hard work!

Also, some of the puzzles have been removed as they are not required to complete the story. I can do a 'deleted scenes' section if anyone is interested... but I'm guessing you won't be! I know I'm not!

 

Any olde hoot, here's a walkthrough written by a 12 year old™ f**king loser who needs to die! Thankyou please! Enjoy! Oh, and congrats to the 25,000 people who have already got their 200GP before this walkthrough was posted! You guys are the best!

 

EDIT: I've played through this game a couple of times now and even without skipping anything, the game can be beaten well within the 3 hours. So, you can enjoy the humour of MI2 without having to play it numerous times! (Although I recommend you do, 'cos some of the developer commentary is hilarious!)

Use bucket o' mud with door. (If LeGrande returns to the room before you've had a chance to complete this action, you will have to go back out of the hotel and all the way to the map screen, then return to WOODTICK and LeGrande's room before you can try again!)

Walk to dressing screen. (To the left)

Open door.

Walk to stairway. (Right of the reception area)

Walk to ship. (The ship in the distance, where you got the bucket from)

The guy will show you the three numbers of the password. Each number will consist of two sets of fingers. Remember the first set he shows you each time. You will need to correctly identify the three sets for the guy to give you the next winning number.

For example;

If he shows you TWO fingers, then FOUR fingers; select TWO.

Then, if he shows you ONE finger, then THREE fingers; select ONE.

Finally, if he shows you FIVE fingers, then TWO fingers; select FIVE.

Use ship's horn.

Use flag. (To the right, under the woman with the red scarf around her waist. You need to do this quickly before the Spitmaster returns, infact almost instantly after using the ship's horn. If he does come back then 'Use ship's horn' and try again)

Use yellow drink with blue drink.

Use crazy straw with green drink.

Talk to Spitmaster.

Look at Great Shipwrecks of Our Century. (The book in your inventory)

Make a note of the Mad Monkey wreckage co-ordinates. [CO-ORDINATES: ...... W ...... N]

Talk to woman in big hat.

- "Could I have one of those leaflets?"

- "I'm interested in chartering a ship."

- "OK, I'll pay you the 6000 pieces of eight."

- "Yeah, I'm hot to find the wreck of the Mad Monkey!"

Click on the co-ordinates you got from the disasters book on the map. (Move the cursor around until it appears)

- "I'll dive in and look for the sunken galleon."

Pick up monkey head. (On the bow of the sunken ship. You might have to move right a little for it to fully appear)

Walk left.

Use anchor. (To the left. Or you can 'Use rope' or 'Pull Rope')

Walk left.

Walk to door. (To the antique shop)

Give monkey head to antique dealer. (Four Map Pieces Complete 1/5)

Walk to door.

Open vanilla envelope. (You will get the bottle o' near grog in your inventory)

Walk to door.

Click on WATERFALL. (It's at the top of the map, where the lake is)

Walk to path. (Click on the top-right of the waterfall)

Use Jojo with pump.

Walk to path. (Left of Guybrush)

Walk to newly discovered gaping hole. (Middle of the rock-face)

Walk to door. (To the left)

Walk to door.

Walk to door. (It will be a round door)

Walk to cottage. (Click on the cottage at the top of the screen) (SE:Manual Mode; you will have to walk up the path to the left which goes back to the map view. Then click on COTTAGE to the left of the map)

Open door. (To the cottage)

Walk to door.

- "I'm looking for a map."

- "I'm Guybrush Threepwood. Prepare to die."

Pick up mug o' grog. (On the table)

Use mug o' grog with tree. (To the left of the table. You need to do this and the next step, before the pirate returns to the table)

Use bottle o' near-grog with empty grog mug.

Open shutters. (The window to the right of the door)

Use mirror with mirror frame. (Above the seat that Guybrush was sitting on)

Walk to door.

Use telescope with grotesque statue. (Right of the cottage)

Remember (or note down) the brick the light is shining on.

Walk to door.

Walk to trap door. (Or near the trap door)

Push brick. (The one the light was shining on. If you push the wrong brick, you will have to walk back to the cottage and try again. It may help to 'Use telescope with grotesque statue' again to refresh your memory)

Pick up map piece. (Four Map Pieces Complete 3/5)

Walk to hole. (Left of the screen)

Walk to path. (To the left, where Guybrush walked up to get to the cottage)

Click on DREAD'S SHIP.

Pick up ashes.

Walk to coffin. (SE:Manual Mode will have 'Use coffin')

Row right.

Row to shack.

Look at jar. (You will need to look at the jar that is third from the left on the bottom shelf behind Guybrush, it will be called 'Ash-2-Life™'. Searching around until it comes up is easiest! Make a note of its location) (This bit is easier in SE Mode as you can just press RT when you've found the jar without having to move the cursor)

Pick up Ash-2-life™.

- "I'll take it!"

Walk to coffin.

Row left.

Row to shore.

Walk to path.

 

Click on CEMETERY.

Walk to crypt.

Look at coffin. (The open coffin of Rapp Scallion)

Use Ash-2-Life™ on ashes.

- "You WERE killed, Rapp."

Walk right.

Row to shore.

Walk right. (Through the doorway and up the stairs)

Walk to passage.

Walk to back tunnel. (To the right of the wall of signs. Right of the middle of the screen, NOT the door all the way to the right which comes up as 'Walk to tunnel')

Look at spit encrusted paper.

The connections change each game, so find the 'ugly bone thing' on the wall that matches the first three body-parts at the beginning of each line of each song verse. The first verse describes the first room; the second verse describes the second room, etc. You might have to 'walk to archway' to the right repeatedly to find the correct 'ugly bone thing' in each 'room')

For example, if the verse says

THE HIP BONE IS CONNECTED TO THE RIB BONE.

THE RIB BONE IS CONNECTED TO THE LEG BONE.

THE LEG BONE IS CONNECTED TO THE HEAD BONE.

then select the 'ugly bone thing' that has a hip-bone at the top, a ribcage in the middle and leg-bone at the bottom.

[VERSE 1 TOP: .......... MIDDLE: .......... BOTTOM: ..........]

[VERSE 2 TOP: .......... MIDDLE: .......... BOTTOM: ..........]

[VERSE 3 TOP: .......... MIDDLE: .......... BOTTOM: ..........]

[VERSE 4 TOP: .......... MIDDLE: .......... BOTTOM: ..........]

Push ugly bone thing.

Walk to ugly bone thing. (Repeat the above three more times until you get to the huge door)

Open huge door. (Or 'Use huge door')

Walk to doggie door.

Pick up voodoo key to jail. (Hanging to the right of 'LeChuck's voodoo throne')

- <Pick any response from the list>

Continue picking responses until LeChuck leaves the room.

Leave game running for 5 minutes. (Five Minutes Later... 1/1) (There is no necessity to save before doing this, as the game returns you to this room after a quick cut-scene)

Use crazy straw with green drink.

Spit shield. (Or any of the other spit-related action-names. You need to spit on the shield to the right of Guybrush) (This one will hit the balloon)

Spit shield. (This will hit Wally)

Spit shield. (This will hit the balloon again)

Spit shield. (This will extinguish the candle)

Use matches.(LeChuck's Fortress Complete 1/1)

Pick up bottle. (At the shoreline, left of Guybrush)

Use bottle with rock. (Behind Guybrush, left of the still)

Pick up martini glass. (Under the still to the right of Guybrush)

Use martini glass with ocean. (Anywhere on the water)

Use glass o' water with still.

Pick up crowbar. (Right of the still)

Walk left.

Walk to jungle. (Behind the right-angled tree, to the left of the Welcome sign)

Walk to more jungle. (Lefthand path)

Walk to more jungle. (Top-left path)

Use broken bottle with bag. (Hanging from the tree)

Pick up box.

Walk to more jungle. (Right-hand path)

Walk to more jungle. (Bottom-right path)

Walk to more jungle. (Top-right path)

Pick up rope. (On the brown box)

Use crowbar on box.

Pick up dynamite.

Walk to more jungle. (You will need to walk around the jungle randomly until you get to the 'call-box'. If you find yourself back at the beach, then 'Walk to jungle', head right and try again)

Use call-box. (Call 9-1-1 1/1)

- "Thank-you, you've been very helpful. Good-bye."

Walk to more jungle. (Bottom-left path)

Walk right. (Until the parrot appears)

Open box. (This is not required in SE:Manual Mode)

Use glass o' distilled water with box. (From your inventory. The box you picked up when you attacked the bag with the broken bottle)

Open barrel. (Under the parrot) (You will receive the third cracker in your inventory)

Give cracker to parrot.

Give cracker to parrot.

Walk left.

Walk to jungle.

Walk to more jungle. (Top-right path)

Walk to more jungle. (Middle-right path)

Walk to more jungle. (Top-right path)

Walk to more jungle. (Upper-middle path) (You should see a dinosaur topiary in this area)

Walk to more jungle. (Upper-middle path) (You should see a dolphin topiary in this area)

Walk to more jungle. (Middle-right path) (You should see a pile of rocks to the left in this area)

Use shovel on Big X.

Use matches with dynamite.

Use lit dynamite with hole in the ground.

Use crowbar with rope.

Use crowbar 'n' rope with twisted metal rods. (Above the treasure chest)

 

Use lightswitch. (It's to the right-middle of the screen. Just move the pointer around until it appears in the action description)

- <Pick any response from the list>

Continue picking responses until LeChuck teleports you to a random location.

(Periodically, LeChuck will transport you to another, random, location. Just head back to the room you were previously working in and continue! This bit is VERY annoying, but please persevere!)

Head all the way to the right until you cannot go any further. (The room previous will have a 'First Aid >>>' sign)

Walk to door. (Middle of the screen)

Look at remains. (The skeleton on the right)

Pick up Dad's remains.

Open medical drawer. (To the right)

Pick up hypodermic syringe.

Open trash can. (To the right of the medical drawer)

Pick up stuff in trash can.

Walk to door. (To the left)

Walk to door. (To the left)

Walk to door. (Middle of the screen, this room will have the 'First Aid >>>' sign)

Open box. (Left-hand box)

Pick up balloon in box.

Open box. (The right-hand box in the foreground)

Pick up dolls.

Walk to door. (To the right)

Walk to door. (To the left)

Walk to door. (Middle of the screen, this room will have the '<<< Elevator' sign)

Use surgical glove with helium tank. (The green tank in the middle of the room)

Use surgical glove with helium tank. (IMPORTANT: You have to inflate BOTH gloves!)

Use balloon with helium tank.

Use coin return. (On the broken Grog machine)

Wait for LeChuck to appear. (Once he does, he will try to pick up the dropped coin. Get ready by selecting 'Pull' before he appears)

Pull underwear. (Or just 'Pull LeChuck' which ever you feel is easier) (SE:Manual Mode will come up with 'Pick up LeChuck') (LeChuck will teleport you to another, random, location)

Make your way to the elevator, which is the second room from the left.

Use call button. (On the wall, left of the elevator door)

Walk to elevator door.

Wait for LeChuck to appear. (Get ready by moving closer to the lever to the left and selecting 'Pull' before he appears)

Pull lever.

Pick up crispy beard bits. (On the floor)

Push lever.

Use helium balloon. (Helium Inhaler 1/1)

Wait for LeChuck to appear. (Get ready by selecting 'Give clean, white hankie to' before he appears)

Give clean, white hankie to LeChuck. (The easiest way to do this is to make your way to the left-most room with the smashed-up treasure chest in it and position Guybrush to the left of the light-switch. There's only one entrance, so you can hover the cursor near the door and so give LeChuck the hankie before he teleports you away) (This action seems to be easier in SE Mode than in Original Mode)

Use voodoo kewpie doll with juju bag.

Use crispy beard bits with juju bag.

Use used hankie with juju bag.

Use skull with juju bag.

Use underwear with juju bag.

Wait for LeChuck to appear. (Get ready by selecting 'Use hypodermic syringe with' before he appears)

Use hypodermic syringe with generic kewpie voodoo doll.

Walk to door. (The door LeChuck walked through to escape. If he's not there, then return to the room you just came from)

- "I wonder what would happen if I tore the leg off this thing?"

- "Oh, all right, I'm coming over."

Continue picking responses until the game finishes. (A True Pirate 1/1) (Speed Demon 1/1) (Monkey Master 1/1) (Free Thinker 1/1) (Turning the Lights Out 1/1)

Lord knows, you might be staring up a guide for Sam and Max: Season 3 as I type this.

They're getting there, but if the XBLA achievements turn out be similar to the PS3 trophies, then some of them will be very difficult to do! Some make the Wallace & Gromit 'I Say' achievement look easy!

 

If I was an arrogant or paranoid man, I'd think TellTale Games were trying to test me! But I'm not... really! ^_^

This part with the elevator, right at the end, is driving me nuts. I can't seem to get the timing down. The door keeps jamming.

Any suggestions?

 

Should I be pulling the lever before he gets a chance to talk, or after? It doesn't seem possible to do it before and if I do it after, the doors don't cut off any part of his beard.

 

EDIT: Got it, I'm an idiot. I didn't fill up both gloves with helium so I was too heavy for the doors to close.

No problem, just go back to WOODTICK & visit the cartographer. Give him the model lighthouse lens and a map piece. He will ask you to go to the Voodoo Lady for a love bomb. Head off to the International House Of Voodoo and you will get this as a conversation option.

 

during chucks fortress you should note which shield to spit at as there are 2 of them

Ok people, I've changed the format a little to make reading the walkthrough easier; the notes are in a smaller font-size than the actions, making the actions easier to read on the screen. If this helps people, then I will reformat my other 7 walkthroughs to match.
