MilkySheep
http://techau.tv/blog/images/AFL-Live-on-PS3-trailer_F3D1/AFL-Live-201.jpg This guide has been written for use on x360a and x360a only. - Estimated achievement difficulty: 4/10 - Approximate time: 60-70 hours - Offline: 985 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png - Online: 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Roadmap Step 1: Practice AFL Live has a steep learning curve at first. To learn the game and to make the achievements less work, play random teams in the quick play mode. Play on Professional setting, but quarter length is up to you. Make the achievement "Winners (Are Grinners)" your goal, keep playing and learning the game until you get this achievement. If you are only just winning, play a few games, get use to spoiling, ruck taps and moving the ball quickly, these are what will win you games. Once you are ready move onto Step 2. Step 2: Professional Season This will be your first season play through. "The Professionals" and "Amateurs' Hour" are stackable, so fire up a season on Professional. If you've followed the steps so far you should find Professional pretty easy (in other games it would be normal or medium). Aim to win every game, if you think you are about to lose, quit out and start again. In this play through you should be aiming for "Hot Streak", "Chas", "Set for September", "First Class Century" and "Got the Wood On 'em". Look through the guide for instructions on how to get each one. Step 3: Legendary Season This will be your second season play through. Legendary isn't overly difficult, but can be headache when playing against teams like Collingwood, St. Kilda and Hawthorn. This step is going to be a massive grind, but you don't need to finish on top of the ladder, so quiting out and re-starting shouldn't be a problem until the finals series. Aim to win about 15 games, this will get you into the finals and in some cases the top 4. You need to be patient with this step, don't try to rush it and don't get flustered when things are not going your way. And remember, you can always quit and start again! Step 4: Nabbed It By now you should have the season achievements and you should of also won a premiership on Legendary difficulty. That will make the "Nabbed It" a fairly easy achievement. Treat it exactly like you did winning the AFL premiership on Legendary, remembering that you can quit out at anytime and restart. Step 5: Random Achievements This step is the random achievements that require you to do more than just play a regular game. Go for "Online Player" first, this can be done before the other steps if you want to make sure people are still playing the game, but I recommend waiting for the first patch before going online otherwise you'll be playing more than 5 games. The first patch should be out before the end of June. "No 'I' In Team" is another one to go for, as are "Australian Made", "Chairman of the Board", "Playing Tall", "Storming Home" and "Dancing with Your Sister". Check out the guide for how to complete each of these. Step 6: 5000 Goals Now you can do whatever you like as you grind your way to 5000 goals. You should already have most of the random achievements ("Kicked a Bag" and "50 Metre Bomb" for example), but also aim to complete what is left as you reach the elusive (and annoying) 5000 goals. Glitched Achievements Attacking Pressure - players report that the achievement has dropped without the goals being kicked. In some cases an out-on-full has made the achievement drop. Additional Note I have taken some information in this guide from other threads on this site. I have given appropriate credit. If you wish to have it removed from the guide, please feel free to send me a message and I'll remove it ASAP. MilkySheep
http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/5-v2k6g=.jpg Leather Poisoning - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Gather 40 or more disposals with a single player. Solution: the easiest way to get this achievement is to play 20 minute qtrs on rookie difficulty. You should get the achievement towards the end of the game. Another way to get this achievement is to take control of the centre square, continously tap the ball down to the same player. If they get subbed-off, sub them back on. If you are playing on rookie, you should be able to get this with 10 minute qtrs if you are good at ruck taps. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/5-nXmh0=.jpg No 'I' in Team - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Play a co-operative match with at least 2 players on the same team. Solution: have a friend play a game with you on the same team or turn on a second controller and have the controller set to be on your team. You don't need to win for the achievement and it can be achieved with any settings. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/5-+0gMI=.jpg Downtown - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Kick a goal from within the centre square. Solution: to get this achievement you need the forward to be completely open as you need the ball to bounce through the goal. The easiest way I've found to do this is quickly break out of defense, this should give you an open forward line. You will need to move the ball quickly and a bit of luck is needed to get a free player in the centre that can kick the ball from the edge of the square. I found this easiest to get when not really trying to get it, if you play through normally you will get into situations where you can do this achievement. In kicking the goal from the centre square you will also unlock "50 Metre Bomb", if you haven't already. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/5-oWazs=.jpg Australian Made - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Create a player in the player creator. Solution: for this achievement you have to go into the Footy Factory menu. Under here go Create a Player and go through the menus. When you finish the achievement will drop. If you want this quickly you can rush through the process without changing anything as it automatically gives each new player details. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/5-g3Yo4=.jpg Kicked a Bag - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Kick 5 or more goals in a match with a single player. Solution: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/5-qPkvQ=.jpg Fruity - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Kick a goal from the boundary with a banana. Solution: not as hard as you may think. When you are on the boundary line, enter the goal kicking mode. Line it up like you would a normal shot, then hold down and then hold down like you would with any other goal. Might take you a few goes to get use to the angle, but you'll eventually get it. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/5-8teQ0=.jpg Talk to the Hand - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Break 2 tackles in a row with fends. Solution: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/5-rwjhM=.jpg Shut 'em Down - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Perform 10 effective tackles in a match. Solution: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/5-lOY9I=.jpg Online Player - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Complete 5 online games. Can somebody confirm this solution? I haven't done it myself, I am just basing it off what I've read/heard. Solution: you go to the online menu and play 5 games. Completing 5 online games requires you to play online until at least the 4th qtr, if you or the player you are playing quit out before than it doesn't count as a completed game. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/5-5UeFE=.jpg Dancing with Your Sister - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Play out a drawn game. MilkySheep
http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/-aNNSQ==.jpg Slippery When Met - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Win a match in the wet. Solution: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/-4JE-A==.jpg Storming Home - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Storm home to win without the opposition scoring a goal in the final quarter. Solution: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/--1YGw==.jpg 50 Metre Bomb - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Kick a goal from beyond the 50 metre arc. Solution: most forwards in the game can kick this if they mark the ball just outside the 50 metre arc, just kick it like you would any other goal. This achievement can also be combined with "Downtown". http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/-h2giA==.jpg Poster - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Hit a goal post and score a behind. Solution: actually trying to get this is very hard, but just playing out a regular game will get you this very quickly. The achievement should drop during your first few games. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/-mK8bw==.jpg First Use - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Perform 5 taps directly to a receiver in a match. Solution: this achievement isn't that hard. When the ball is bounced down (or thrown up), your controller will give a little vibration when the ball has reached its highest point. When you feel the vibration tap the to the direction one of your free players is standing. All they have to do is catch it. Repeat this 5 times and the achievement is yours. Remember to only tap the in the direction. Don't hold it there and don't move it in multiple directions. You will win the ruck most of the time if you just tap the . http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/5-2ViXc=.jpg Even Spread - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Win a game with 9 or more individual goal kickers. Solution: a few of the teams in the game have a dominate forward-line which can make this achievement a problem (for example, the automated substitution system doesn't sub off the strong forwards). The best thing to do if you want this achievement quickly is to take control of your own team-management. Once a player has kicked a goal, sub them off or to another position. It shouldn't take you too long to get the 9 goals with this method. This achievement doesn't drop until the game is completed. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/5-x1ceQ=.jpg Chairman of the Board - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Create a full team of 40 or more players in the Footy Factory. Solution: if you are creating a real team you intend on using, than getting 40 or more players can be a bit challenging, especially if you want a team that can compete. However you can easily get this achievement by acquiring the cheapest players of each club. You can take 5 players from each team, so go through 8 teams and 40 real cheap players later you'll have "Chairman of the Board". http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/+iCvBQ==.jpg Attacking Pressure - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Kick 3 goals as a direct result of free kicks from tackles in a match. Solution: you need to keep the pressure on in your forward 50. To do this keep tackling opponants by holding down . Getting the free kicks is the hard part, but if you are having trouble with it you can make the qtrs 20 mins. This achievement will drop as soon as you've completed it. This achievement is also glitched. Myself and others have had the achievement drop even if a goal isn't scored. I myself had it dropped when I kicked it out of bounds on the full. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/+AGmsA==.jpg Road Trip - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Win a game with an AFL team against an interstate AFL team at their home ground. Solution: first and foremost, this achievement can only be done with the original teams. You may need to reset the teams by going into Footy Factory and selecting reset teams. After this jump into a quick match and select either a Victorian team to play away against a non-Victorian team or vice versa. For this achievement I played as Richmond at the Gold Coast. MilkySheep
http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/+1muWQ==.jpg The Professionals - 30 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Win a Toyota AFL 2011 Premiership Season on Professional, no simulating. I recommend first playing through a Premiershup Season on professional (see "The Professionals") or play a few practice games first. Legendary isn't all that difficult, but you should definitely be prepared when starting the season. The main point about this achievement is winning. It isn't enough that you have to play 40 hours of football, but you also have to win. You should aim to win 15 games during the season, this will get you into the finals and in some cases the top 4. Once you are in the finals you need to be prepared. As soon as it looks like you might lose the game, quit out (the season saves after each round, so you exit back to the dashboard by pressing the Xbox button and then ) and start again. This could take a few goes and you may also have to do this a few times during the season. I'll update this with more tips later. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/+Jhffw==.jpg Amateurs' Hour - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Win a Toyota AFL 2011 Premiership Season on Amateur, no simulating. Solution: a very easy mode. This achievement can also be used to get "Chas", "Set for September", "First Class Century" and "Got the Wood On 'Em" This achievement is stackable with "The Professionals". http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/+rlWyg==.jpg The Beautiful Game - 30 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Kick the ball off the ground to score a goal. Solution: a kick off the ground is achieved by double tapping . The hardest part of this achievement is having the ball line-up in front of goal. There are a couple of ways to get this but it all comes down to luck. If the ball is in the forward line, keep 'soccering' it towards the goal until it goes through. Or if you have a throw in/ball up, tap it to the top of the score but instead of having your player pick it up, 'soccer' it. Good luck! http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/-xu9Mw==.jpg Nabbed It - 80 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Win the Pre-Season Competition on Legend in real time with extreme injuries. Solution: follow the rules provided for finals for the "Legendary" achievement. Can anybody confirm whether you can simulate this or not? Also does "real time" = 20 minute qtrs? http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/+8BXlg==.jpg Hard Nut - 30 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Perform 20 heavy bumps. Solution: this is another tough achievement and one that seems to be buggy. The easiest discovered way to do this so far is play with 2 controllers (1 on each team), keep giving the other team free-kicks and when they are lining up with the man on the mark, wait for the whistle to blow. When it blows, have a man bump the player with the . Repeat 20 times and the achievement will yours. Solution: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/5-0-SaQ=.jpg Lifetime Lagger - 80 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Kick 5000 goals. Solution: no way around this apart from playing lots of AFL Live. You have to play through 2 (maybe 3) seasons of AFL Live for other achievements and you have to play through the pre-season cup, these will add a lot to the tally. On the easy difficulties, getting 30 goals a game shouldn't be an issue, this is what I would recommend doing when grinding out the last couple of thousand goals after what you have to do. MilkySheep
http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/5-+Hud4=.jpg Hot Streak - 30 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Win 5 matches in a row during a season on Professional difficulty or above. Solution: you have to take this one slow. Don't rush and try your best to not play on. You need to look for open players or players running towards you. This can be very hard, especially if you are not focused. Taking it slow is literally the best advice anybody can give. This video is a mini-tutorial on the achievement. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBgJl55RIoo]YouTube - AFL LIVE 2011 - End to End Achievement[/ame] Thanks and credit to IckleRonnikens for this great video. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/5-7NgZ4=.jpg Winners (Are Grinners) - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Win a match. Solution: this will be one of your first achievements. AFL Live can take a few games to get use to, so if you are not winning just hang in there. The game is pretty predictable and won't take you look to master. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/5-zsiCs=.jpg Playing Tall - 30 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Win a ruck contest with the shortest player on your team. Solution: the quickest way to do this achievement is to play with 2 controllers, 1 on each team. You'll need to substitute your regular ruckman for the shortest player on the team. Compete in the bounce up and without anybody controller the other ruckman, you should get this first attempt. Below is a list of the shortest players in the league. These were taken from each clubs website, many of the players have been confirmed by people with the achievement. Players that are confirmed to work have an astrix next to their name. Adelaide - Michael Doughty Brisbane - Joshua Green Carlton - Eddie Betts* Collingwood - Kirk Ugle, however Jaryd Blair* is reported as working Essendon - Alwyn Davey* Fremantle - Hayden Ballantyne* Geelong - Matthew Stokes* Gold Coast - Hawthorn - Melbourne - Aaron Davey* North Melbourne - Matt Campbell, however Brent Harvey* is reported as working Port Adelaide - David Rodan Richmond - Robin Nahas* St. Kilda - Adam Schneider Sydney - Ben McGlynn West Coast - Ryan Neates, if Neates doesn't work try Daniel Kerr Western Bulldogs - Andrew Hooper http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/5-2msGs=.jpg Chas - 30 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png In Season mode, a member of the player controlled team wins the Brownlow medal. Solution: not as hard as you may think. Most people are reporting that they are winning this with easy and with players that aren't the stars. When playing through the season just make sure you always have a player on top of all the stats charts, especially kicking, tackling and goals. One of these players should win the Brownlow. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/5-jivro=.jpg Set for September - 30 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Finish on top of the ladder in a Toyota AFL 2011 Premiership Season, no simulating. Solution: very easy to do on amateur difficulty (and it gets you "Amateurs' Hour"). Try to complete this with "Got the Wood On 'em", doing so will mean you are well on your way to being top of the ladder, in fact you only have 6 other games you have to win. Once you've mastered the game though, doing this on amateur won't be an issue. Soap of Death says - There are 24 rounds in the season. You will only play 22 matches due to each team having 2 byes. Every win earns you 4 premiership points, a draw earns you 2 and losing gets you nothing. The best way to ensure you finish top of the ladder is to win more games than anyone else and by the biggest margins possible. To separate teams who are equal on points, winning percentage comes into play. You can win 20 games by 1-5 points each time. But if another team wins 20 games by 20+ points on average, they'll be rated above you on the ladder. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/5-idol0=.jpg First Class Century - 80 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Have a player in your team kick more than 100 goals in a season. Solution: you need to do this with a power forward. Whilst you might just be able to do it with an average forward or a regular player, doing it with a power forward means you have the marking power and it makes goal kicking easier. The best choices for doing this are with Jack Riewoldt for Richmond, Lance Franklin for Hawthorn, Jonathan Brown for Brisbane or Nick Riewoldt for St. Kilda. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/5-nkowE=.jpg Got the Wood On 'em - 30 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Defeat every team at least once in a home and away season. Solution: doing this on amateur shouldn't prove to be that difficult. If it looks like you are about to lose, quit out and start again. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1871/5-kCRik=.jpg It's a Drubbing - 30 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Win a match by over 50 points. Solution: do this on rookie difficulty, 10 minute quarters and play as Collingwood vs. Gold Coast. If you have experience with the game, you should be able to do this in 1 attempt. joyous being
Awesome guide. I was going to have a crack at one myself, but wouldn't have put the amount of time into it you have, so well done. With Lifetime Lagger you can use two controllers and kick about 130 goals an hour with 10 minute qtrs. The problem is sometimes your goals disappear from the stats menu doing this. To stop that happening, make sure your opponent kicks one goal, and when you've finished the game start a game with you vs the cpu and quit straight away (it would only take the goals of the last game you played off your total if you played multiple games in a row - if you start the game against the cpu, the last game you played is nil goals) Also, for "Downtown", obviously a smaller ground like Darwin will be easier to get the achievement. With "By Hand", I got to 3 qtr time in an amateur season with 10 minute quarters, and just spent the last quarter handballing. Also got me "leather poisoning" as I was just handballing between the same few players. I had to complete 5 online games to get the Online Player achievement, and they had to be completed, a few times players quit out on me and it didn't count. They also have to be ranked games, you can't get it from private matches. Spoil Sport if you don't have it by the time you're doing Legendary, you will get it then. To beat a team on legendary difficulty I think you'd be spoling at least 20 times a match rather than trying to outmark their forwards. Plus spoiling their kick outs when you score a point is also a good tactic, so with all that you should get spoil sport. Storming Home you must be losing at 3 qtr time to get that one, then stop them scoring in the last quarter. Can be done the first time you try champion difficulty after upping from amateur (that's how I got it), or if all else fails, two controllers. I think we've pretty much covered everything... hydrosugar
i can really see myself getting 1000g in this. the only one i had doubts about was that shortest player in the ruck one, but duh i can do it with two controllers. might start up the game again tommorow and begin a legendary season. got a real footy match to watch today(GO SAINTS!) and a party to go to. anyways legendary is surprisingly easy, the first time i tried it i won like 85 - 15 in 3 min quarters(st kilda v st kilda)

Prod1gy94
Great guide! But just to let everyone know the shortest person on the geelong team is infact Matthew Stokes, so try not to get confused with this, maybe the author could correct it? XxXRyan21
Is it just me or is this game on legendary next to impossible? I'm fairly decent at this game on all the other difficulties but I'm just getting messed over by heaps of goals in only the first quarter. At first I thought maybe it was because I was playing as Essendon, so I changed to Geelong but still nothing changed, apparently the recent update made Legendary next to impossible? chrstphrwnstn
Great guide. Lifetime Lagger and Legendary should both have been worth 100G in my opinion. I can't count the amount of time I've put into getting those. Edited February 23, 2012 by chrstphrwnstn

MoshFish
Finally made myself get back into this, to keep working on LEGENDARY and LIFETIME LAGGER. Taking a huge amount of time, but at least the game is fun enough. I am so bad at Marking on Legendary difficulty, though, so I always have to spoil it in the direction I want to run and then haul ass to get the ball first.
