ZeroDC
There's probably another thread for this exact purpose, but I can't find it. This thread is aimed at expanding the musical horizons of xbox360a users. I have a fairly wide music taste, so I'll kick it off with two very different tracks on my iPod. So yeh, Go ahead, give us all something that we should listen to. It can be something that you think personifies a genre, something you've recently discovered, an old favourite, or a lost love. Happy listening! ^.^

Sabrelord
Nice Thread here:) I'd just suggest that we stick to youtube videos and "special" songs, we got other Threads for Favs and stuff. Actualy i was about to post on "Song of the day" but this suits even better . So i'll add some more songs i just stumbled upon today, after a decade literally. The '93 anti-NeoNazi song "Cry for love" by Die Ärzte FYI Die Ärzte ("The Physicians" or "The Doctors", German pronunciation: diː ˈʔɛːɐ̯tstə is a punk band from Berlin. Die Ärzte are one of the best-known German punk rock bands and have released over 20 albums since 1982. They had trouble in the late 80s with the BPjM (Federal Department for "youth-harming" Media) because of some songs about different stuff i'm not sure if i can tell here, so they got 2 albums on the "index". This prohibited the band from performing the songs live or promoting two albums and, more importantly, shops were prohibited from openly displaying these records. I'm obviously not going to post theese. Btw.: that "Metal umlaut" on the Ä is in common use here, they're making fun of it sometimes by adding a third dot to it. Here we go, "Cry for love" [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MVzzey-A6A&feature=related]YouTube- Die Ärzte - Schrei nach Liebe (english subs)[/ame] The '93 song "Peace-tank" (sry couldn't find better Quality with subs) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhLMy-MAhrM]YouTube- Die Ärzte - Friedenspanzer (English subtitles)[/ame] 2003 love song to Rockmusic and about "unrockable" girlfriends [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tpkuuljhb5k&feature=related]YouTube- Die Ärzte: Unrockbar (English subs)[/ame] A song about revenge on the guy always trying to pick on you 1995 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gjnhMlOGAE&feature=related]YouTube- Die Ärzte - Schunder Song (English subtitles)[/ame] "A song about censorship" from 1998 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6j9OLgRCTo&feature=related]YouTube- Die Ärzte - Ein Lied über Zensur (English subtitles)[/ame] Another one about it, well...the video. DepecheMode like sounding "Please, please" 1988 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7v7o1mV-6s&feature=PlayList&p=25068072D527F4DA&playnext_from=PL&playnext=1&index=6]YouTube- Die Ärzte - Bitte Bitte (English subtitles)[/ame] "Hooray!" a half ironic song about the fall of the Berlin wall with kinda pointless "everything is nice" lyrics. It hit the spirit of times back in '95 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gRIgW7YTC8&feature=related]YouTube- Die Ärzte - Hurra! (english subs)[/ame] Hope you enjoy! Edit: @ Zero 0.o Holy Ice Cream that was just retarded, i kinda like the beat at the end where he shuts up at around 2min though. Thanks for giving some good stuff to calm down afterwards Edited June 8, 2010 by Sabrelord
ZeroDC
I agree on the youtube video front. The plan was to have songs being suggested as opposed to albums... Haha Nice. Not listened to nay punk for a while, might have to go and find me my NOFX albums... I appreciate the mind numbing nature of Dubstep, and I'll try to only put the best stuff I can find on here... Today's track (for now) is The Futureheads - Hounds of Love. It's a kate Bush song, but I couldn't find a decent vid of Kate Bush performing the song... -.- [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcMAM9B7yAA]YouTube- The Futureheads - Hounds Of Love[/ame]

milecoupe
Hardcore: Of Mice & Men Burden of a Day Agraceful Comeback Kid For Today Underoath Don't use the myspace charts next time as most bands are listed wrong on those things;) I'm just saying because i know alot of other forums and sometimes this one were i visit and if u said those the flame war would be on big time especially with omm listed as hardcore. Neverender
I didn't use the genre that MySpace classifies them as, I just classified them according to what they were closest to out of the categories I listed. And for Of Mice & Men, you could consider them post-hardcore, but most of the post-hardcore bands I listed sound lighter on the non-hardcore parts, so I just went with Hardcore when classifying them.
