Even though it is not 100% certain, Obama has been crowned winner of the 2008 Presidential election of the United States of America. McCain conceded tonight as well on national television, leaving the future of America into the hands of a young, confident Senator from Illinois. CNN was first to break the news that Barack Obama will be the future President of the U.S. Post thoughts, comments, or questions in this thread. Clipse 2
oh, didn't notice. sorry! why close big news like this though? Politics and large groups of people don't normally mix when their views vary. Someone says something, others get all pissy, name calling and flame wars ensue. loren83
I think that this historic day marks a huge turning point in our nation. I am so proud that we could break down that barrier and I hope that this makes us a better nation. I believe Obama is the right person for the job and let me just say "Yes We Can!". In the words of a friend of mine, "Arguments on politics and religion lead to epic forum failure". Either way, the other topic became an argument on arguing. o_O;

edd__
I don't really like it.Didn't want him to win presidency, wanted McCain. Looks like we'll be pushed around by other countries now. Not trying to start any arguments or anything, just curiosity got the better of me. Have you any evidence to back up that assumption? Maybe to avoid arguments if you PM me rather than using this topic? I dunno, just really intrigued by what you said and why. Well done USA though. I strongly believe in Obama, he better not disappoint! And hopefully, we'll never, ever, ever have to hear from Sarah Palin ever again. Though that means no more Tina Fey on SNL ;D edit: http://i33.tinypic.com/zx6yi8.jpg Edited November 5, 2008 by edd__
master_shake_350
Yer I caught Mcain's congrats speech when I went to college today. Did Obama have glass around him when he was giving a speech due to his win??
plumbpist
I think its a joke, yesterday the local (NYC) news said, and I quote, "Voting is not just about race anymore!" Seriously? How was this election not about race? What issue was more important than the fact that Obabma is black(ish) during this election? This i gonna end badly for the U.S.
CovertDog
The reasons threads like this never go well is because people have views with nothing to back them up. So all it becomes one flammatory statement after another, and because Tron and Pants are super bad ass, with ninja stars and flame retardant samurai outfits made out of 50%Cotton, 50% awesome.
