Ninjamonkey6493
I have been trying for forever now. But I know to get the schematics you must complete all quests for the boomers in order to get the airplane to be repaired. But I have completed all the side quests except the one that has to do with caesars legion, I have given them probably 100+ scrap metals and maybe 30+ missiles. But the plane won't appear repaired and the schematics won't be on the wall, and my guide don't tell me any specifics about how to get it. Can someone help me??? BlackDragon
You CAN'T get the Rock-It Launcher in New Vegas. Sorry. The schematics were there, but you couldn't actually build it. Guess they removed the schematics in the 1.2 patch to avoid confusion. In fact, it seems like the vast majority of 'improvised' weapons from Fallout 3 are gone, having been replaced with radioactive cooking recipes... yay. ~_~ I miss my Shishkebab... Ninjamonkey6493
Wow thats gay. I mean I found videos on youtube of people showing where to get the parts but that sucks. I spent 10 hours of useless looking for scrap metal for nothing.
TheMaster328
I miss my Shishkebab... You can actually get a Shishkebab in NV. It requires you to be disliked enough by the Legion for them to start sending assassins after you. It should be in one of their inventories after killing them... BlackDragon
Interesting. I wonder if some of the other home-made weapons from Fallout 3 are also hidden in obscure locations...
phenominality
They sure did drop the ball by discontinuing the majority of the improvised weapons from FO3. It just makes sense that you're going to find a load of random items in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, and you're going to want to combine them to make an assortment of goodies. They understood that in the last, so why rid us of that in the next. They could have planned countless more items to create in New Vegas that would have been greatly appreciated. I thought the reloading bench was a rather weak idea. I hardly used it, seeing as ammo was plentiful to find and inexpensive to purchase.

KaosL0RD
I love the dart gun... it helped sooo much against deathclaws. And any other thing that moved fast... I wonder if it would work on cazadores...
Ethereal235
I don't understand why they removed them. The system they introduced in the game for crafting would have been fucking perfect for that shit, but they took out the one thing that might have made that stuff really useful. Also, the Shishkebab can be bought from the guy who sells stuff at the Hoover dam as well. I think you might be able to get it at Mick & Ralphs, too, but I've never seen it. With the jury-rigging perk, you can even repair it with pretty much any blade you find in the game.

I wonder if it would work on cazadores... You have to get with the times. Dart Gun is old yesterday's news. This game has cool weapons to take out the deathclaws. Personally I love to snipe the deathclaws with the anti-materiel gun. First I shoot the young Deathclaws which will upset their parents and send them into a frenzy. Guess who I shoot next. I wonder if it would work on cazadores... The Railway Rifle would complete wreck them. That was the best makeshift weapon in Fallout 3 and it pissed me off they took it out of New Vegas. What pissed me off more is they put one on Mick&Ralphs wall, but you couldn't do anything with it ! I don't understand why'd they upgrade the building system, but then take away the ability to make weapons.
Pixo
Interesting. I wonder if some of the other home-made weapons from Fallout 3 are also hidden in obscure locations... You can also buy the Shishkebab at the Hoover Dam from Quartermaster Bardon in the offices. I think he has 3 actually. The dart gun was amazing in F3. I wouldnt be able to kill Deathclaws without that thing. Now I have my Anti-Material and Multiplas rifle. Edited January 23, 2011 by Pixo

I did collect all the unique weapons. In the beginning I used the fully upgraded laser rifle because it has a scope. Which energy-weapon is the best in your opinion? laser-rifle, laser RCW, plasma rifle, Multiplas, plasma caster or the ammo-consuming weapon you find at the Crashed Vertibird? BlackDragon
It's very situational. The Tesla-Beaton Prototype (the ammo-eater from the crashed vertibird that you mentioned) is basically an energy-based rocket-launcher (or, if you bought the Meltdown-perk, an energy-based Fatboy), so it's great if you need to take out large mobs. For general use, the Plasma Caster or Q-35 Matter Modulator works well. For taking out enemies at long range, the unique Gauss Rifle - forgot the name, it's Y-something - works wonders. I never found much use for the Laser RCW or the Multiplas (or, for that matter, the Tri-Beam Laser). This game has too many heavily-armored enemies to sacrifice single-shot damage for DPS. But THE best Energy Weapon? That would be the EUCLID Range-Finder, once you've powered up ARCHIMEDES-II. Can't beat a KillSat.

I'm told YCS stands for Your Console Sucks, which is some website. I'll give the YCS a try, since it seems to work like a sniper. :-) Sure the Euclid C-finder is very powerfull. But since it has only one shot every 24 hours the usefullness is pretty limited. I read somewhere the use during the president's assasination will yield a lot of XP.
