GeneralCurry726
Is there a specific build I can use? Or maybe a specific strategy? It is impossible to do this with randoms!
Dante XBA
It is very possible to complete Extinction by yourself. Armor Piercing ammo, Weapon Specialist, Sentry Guns, and Body Armor ought to get you through.
Junki3
Just did this myself - going for the "Completionist" achievement in the process - using Weapon Specialist, Normal Ammo (only takes 2 points in the tree to max the guns capacity), Armour, Sentry Gun and Death Machine. You could argue Death Machine could be swapped out for Riot Shield for protecting your back, but it's individual playstyle I suppose. What I did was put bullet damage to max ASAP (alongside the additional point or two in sentry's as needed) and bought the MR-28 (over by the rocks in the first area) - you should be able to 1-hit kill the scouts, and 2-3 hit kill hunters/scorpions. Next max out sentries and keep putting two down when possible, you should earn the money back no problem. After that, it's personal preference to upgrades. I think I was putting points in armour next for the health boost, one point in pistols for increased movement, and one or two in death machine. FYI, I only really used death machine towards the end when I was maxing out my cash anyway as an added bonus. Oh, and buy the SAW in the last area right away - with the bullet damage maxed out, you'll have slight of hand/faster ADS and make this ridiculously less cumbersome and more OP. Like a permanent mini death machine.
GeneralCurry726
Ok, thanks for the tips. I actually got into a good game earlier, but we fell just short These tips should help me with the achievements hopefully because the completionist in me is worrying that extinction mode is going to screw me up! Dz06lt
are there fewer enemies when playing solo?
GeneralCurry726
are there fewer enemies when playing solo? I believe so. You also get either 1 or two revives to use on yourself. Don't remember how many exactly though.
GthreeBEEoh
I was just about to try this tonight, and going for the complisionist as well. I was 1 challenge short fucking sniper.
VIII OLFIO 81
I finished in SOLO using this loadout: MEDIC (no damage from the scorpions venom when upgraded) with armor, death machine, explosive bullets and VULTURE (fully upgraded is awesome), using the pistol only relic, because you don't have to change weapons for the challenges. I have failed only the challenge at the last hive, I had to kill 5 enemies with traps, but they are too far from the drill... I was very unlucky. When you start you can revive yourself 1 time but you gain an "extra life" when you destroy a wall-hive, so you can reach the final area with 3 lives. There are more or less 500 enemies in solo. GeneralCurry726
I actually did completionist and escape with a relic at the same time a while ago. I played solo as a weapon specialist using the pistols only relic. I upgraded death machine and used that exclusively. That was before the nerf of course. Dante XBA
Solo-ing Point of Contact is a breeze with a variety of tactics, but Nightfall's a completely different story. I solo'd it only once, killing 666 enemies (heh) and only missing one challenge. Set up was the same as my earlier post, although I believe for better success rate I should equip the Vulture. Turrets aren't very effective in the Facility area.

Poolsharker
Nightfall Completionist Achievement. Add my Gamertag: TH0RNTON ( First 0 is the number 0 ) Good player and 25 so not going to mess around. Have OCD issues and want to 100% every game i have lol. How can you help with soloing Extinction? My loadout for Point of Contact was: Explosive Ammo: Level 1 Explosive Ammo: Level 2 Explosive Ammo: Level 3 Explosive Ammo: Level 4 Medic: Level 1 Medic: Level 2 Medic: Level 3 (Possible before the first wall-hive) Sentry Gun: Level 1 Sentry Gun: Level 2 Sentry Gun: Level 3 Sentry Gun: Level 4 Feral Instincts: Level 1 Feral Instincts: Level 2 Pistol: Level 1 I missed a bunch of the challenges, but Sentry Guns really make the run. I used the AK-12 as my gun, had Red-dot, Rapid Fire, and Grip, pistol is really your choice I feel. I also had a Riot Shield to protect my back. When I do it again, I think I might switch in AP Ammo instead of Explosive, just didn't have it unlocked at the time. Once you get the 14th Hive down, take some time to get Sentry Guns setup at the first choke-point (where the 1st Rhino was) before setting the nuke. If you have the money, get the chopper as well to help you on the exit, or on the 13th or 14th Hive if you struggle on it.
My Chrysalis
I prefer solo over multiplayer, it's less stressing and it's easier if you want to get "Complete all challenges" achievements. More On Topic: Armour Pen - Armour - Riot Shield. As long as I have these 3 items, I never fail.
