Arsenic 17
So I have hired level 3 breeding specialists and done all the research from the research tree about breeding, but I still rarely get any animals to actually breed? Is there some hidden requirements that I need? Can you offer any tips? I understand happiness is important, but it also mentioned the animals need shelters to breed (and the obvious, same species opposite sex thing). Dont all exhibits for animals that can breed have shelters (big rock caves). I am almost level 35 in challenge mode and have only got two babies born. Both were actually from the same two parents of antelope I had in a large exhbit. I have ten breeding specialists active in 10 different exhibits for all different animals. Does exhibit size matter, even if the animals are perfectly happy in smaller ones? I know babies cant breed (level 5 and below cant breed?), but can level 15 not breed? a lot of my animals are level 15.
Samarin_6
to get my breeding going i used medium exhibits with 2 animals of each gender that way i could be producing up to 2 baby animals at once. Also, if you notice none of your animals are breeding, save and exit and reload. When i load back in i usually get 3 or 4 "animal is pregnant" messages. Hope this helps edit: also make sure to use lvl 3 breeders and have breeding research maxed out. I played two hours tonight and only one animals was ever born. I also tried exiting to main menu and reloading many times as you mentioned. I have to be doing something wrong. Surely that is not how often animals are born? I have 8 medium pens built with 2x2 of animals in each. There is 16 breeding opporunties. I have breeding max researched and also have level 3 breeders on all my exhibits....I think mine is glitched? Or level 15 really cant breed. EDIT: OK I have done some extensive experiementation. I am about 95% certain level 15 animals will not breed at all. Once they age that far, you should just release them and replace them with the youngest animals you can get that is an adult. Also, I am again about 75% sure that if two animals breed more than once together (i.e. mom and dad have two kids), the kids will turn out 100% the same (either regular or variant). So if this is the case, as soon as two animals spawn a baby, sell the parents and replace them with a young animal to be the baby that was just borns mate. Dog Face
Don't think that's the case. I have 3 Asiatic Lions and they breed like crazy.

Dog Face
don't think what is the case? The first thing in your edit. I have 3 level 15 Asiatic lions who've breed multiple times together. Not sure about the second either. My lions have also bred normal and a color variant (once)

Let all my breeding animals go and sit at level 15 for 90 minutes. Not a single one ever got pregnant. Never have been able to have a baby with a 15 level animal at all. Either you are mistaken, or there is some very very small chance that breeding can occur at that level. Either way, as soon as I switch at the Level 15 animals with level 6-8, they are pregnant within 10 minutes at most. Sometimes faster. That was a total of 12 breedable species. None got preganant once. Even went to main menu and back several times, which usualy triggers births and pregnancies. Do you have a tier 3 breeding center, tier 3 staff assigned to your exhibit and tier 3 animal breeding at the gate? Only thing I can think of. I'll look into it later to see if I'm wrong. There are so many animals to breed. I have about 10 of the 60 animals fully bred, photoed, and released with variants.

I have been having the same issue. Everything at level 15 and no babies! It was driving me nuts! Time to release everything and start over!!! Arsenic 17
Hey thank you soooo much for confirming my suspicions. I have been having the same issue. Everything at level 15 and no babies! It was driving me nuts! Time to release everything and start over!!! I can confirm animals can get pregnant at level 14 and then give birth after they have already turned level 15, but I am certain level 15 cannot become pregnant. Also, I was wrong before about color variants. Animals can breed more than once, and with the same two parents breeding, you can have have a color variant and a regular one from same parents. also, if you breed a color variant with a regular, I am quite certain this will always end up with a color variant baby. For this reason, breeding can be boosted between friends. Well at least you can somewhat lower your time. With two people, you can say each person should do specific animals types. When you breed a color variant, gift it to the other person.
