Achievement Guide/Roadmap

MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL 2K11

Overview:

• Estimated achievement difficulty: 6/10

• Offline: 40 (915)

• Online: 7 (85)

• Approximate time: 100+ hours (without simulation)

• Minimum number of play throughs needed: 5+ (Player Seasons, 10 Ranked Live Matches, MLB Today Games, 1 League Game & utilizing Franchise Mode or Quickplay)

• Missable achievements: 1 (Same as last years 2K installment, the Mid-Summer Classic can only be obtained on the day of the actual All-Stars Game (JULY 12TH))

• Does difficulty affect Achievements? Difficulty is not specified in any achievement descriptions, just as long as it is an un-simulated game.

•Glitched Achievements: Same as recent years, nearly 1/4 of the Achievements have issues but if you are lucky, you will not have any issues.

You can do a lot of these achievements in League or Online games, but again, like last year, two-controller quick play will not work. Most Achievements can be obtained in Franchise mode.

Introduction:

MLB 2K11 is another fun 2K Baseball installment but can be somewhat time-consuming if you are looking for that 1000/1000 on your Gamercard. My Player Mode gets a few more achievements compared to last year's MLB 2K10, but thats only a good thing, as it is one of the most fun game modes in the game. The game has been tweaked a little bit from last years game; mostly the Fielding and the pitching. The Pitching has become a bit more realistic, seeing that now the ball does not go EXACTLY where you place it in the strike zone. This Guide will tell you the easiest ways to obtain each achievement. Enjoy.

Step #1: Franchise

Franchise is a great place to start. In order to get the season oriented achievements, you are required to play at least 20 games before, in-between, or after simulating. During those 20 games, you should hammer out a lot of those situational achievements (Example: Lead off Triple, get a Walkoff home run). After 20 games, you can sim to the end of the season. Make an extra save file first, them sim to the playoffs. Hopefully you are in them. If not, reload your save, and repeat. Now sim to the end of the postseason, reloading your save if necessary. Once you have won the World Series you can move on. You will have other opportunities to gain the situational achievements, like in Quick Play, Ranked Matches, or League Games.

Step #2: My Player

My Player is the main attraction, and this year it finally pays off (gamerscore-wise) to put all of those hours in. Use the achievement guide to aid you in making it to the big leagues, raising your player rating, making the All-Star team, and eventually making it to the Hall of Fame. Unfortunately, all of the situational achievements are not obtainable in this mode. Only ones specifically for My Player can be achieved here (example: 4 strikeouts as a batter, hit a homerun off of a former team). To reach the Hall of Fame, you will need to accomplish 12 HOF goals, and play at least 5 seasons (which those 12 goals will take 5+ seasons anyway). You can simulate games, but the game requires you to play key games.

Step #3: Ranked Matches

You will have to play as 10 different teams, so during these ten games win three times in a row, beat the Giants, play as the Pirates once, and catch the viral achievement. If you are crafty and play during low traffic times, you could possibly boost ranked achievements with a friend (see achievement boosting forum for help). Something to help you in online matches, there is a slight lag when you hit swing and when you actually swing. This will take some getting used to, though 2K is said to be fixing the issue.

Step #4: Online League games (and whatever you missed in Step #1)

Here you would like to get some friends together and play some MLB 2K11 Online League Mode. If you have no friends (unlikely) or friends that don't own MLB 2K11 (very likely), go over to the Achievement Boosting thread and make some 'friends' to help you out.

Step #5: Exploring the remaining game modes

Earn gold in all the training drills, win the Best of the Best HR Derby challenge, and finally play a game of MLB Today. Kill two birds with one stone by making that game of MLB Today the All-Star game, which requires you to play the actual day of the All-Star game in real life (JULY 12, 2011).

Conclusion:

Three things make this game a relatively hard 1000: Ranked Matches, specifically winning three in a row, the High Crimes achievement, and the length of My Player mode. Get past those three things and you should be golden. As with a lot of games, boosting eases this difficulty.

ACHIEVEMENTS:

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/-j0fCw==.jpg No Hole Too Deep (10G) - Battle Back: Down 0-2, get walked in a non-simulated game.

For this Achievement, all you need is a keen eye and a thumb. If a pitch gets somewhat close to the strike zone, hit your right analog stick to the left or right to foul it off. once the count goes 4-2, you will hear the bloop.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/-93nmA==.jpg My Main Squeeze (15G) - Bunt the man home in a non-simulated game.

This achievement is pretty easy, just have your guy ready to steal home, lay down the bunt towards the first base side and you should be golden.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/-GMKWQ==.jpg State Farm™ - The Road to Victory (20G) - Get 3 consecutive batters on base in a non-simulated game.

This achievement may take some time, but is relatively easy. As long as three batters in a row get on base, you'll get the achievement. You can do this by drawing Walks, Errors and/or Hits.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/-tv6Iw==.jpg Stooges (10G) - Strikeout all three hitters in the inning in a non-simulated game.

This Achievement is not too difficult as long as you have a good pitcher on the mound. easiest if you use Roy Halladay or Cliff Lee, two strikeout machines. just keep throwing fastballs and sliders 'low and away' and change ups 'up and in' on the batters.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/-Przlg==.jpg He Taketh Away (20G) - Rob a Home Run in a non-simulated game.

This achievement is much easier than the past years' installments. Batters hit homeruns barely over the wall rather frequently in this game. It is still rare though, so it can take time, but it's not near-impossible like previous games. No need to alter stats this time around.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/-RoLBQ==.jpg I Like to be Thorough (20G) -Hit for the Cycle in a non-simulated game.

Hitting for the cycle is no easy task. you may want to alter a batter's stats for speed and power and contact. When a ball has not left the outfielders hand yet and you're at second, keep running to third. it'll almost always be a close play, but that triple is the hardest one to get.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/++DoFQ==.jpg The Start of Something Special (10G) - Lead off an inning by hitting a triple in a non-simulated game.

Keep in mind what i said about the Cycle achievement about getting that triple out of the way. if you have a guy like Jose Reyes or Andrew McCutchen, that triple is waiting to happen.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/+cHhoA==.jpg The Call (20G) - Get called up to the Majors in My Player Mode.

Playing My Player Mode, this achievement is not missable. Being a pitcher, you should be able to get this plus most of the other My Player achievements quicker than as a batter.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/-PjmXQ==.jpg The Goal (10G) - Accomplish a Team Season Goal in My Player Mode.

This Achievement is not too difficult. Your Team Goal is always displayed on your My Player ''Home Page''. It can range from 'Win the Division' to 'Build a dynasty.' These will take a whole My Player season to unlock.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/-zsCsA==.jpg I Came, I Saw... (20G) - Hit a Walk-off Home Run in a non-simulated game.

This achievement will come naturally, as long as you dont blow out your opponent. But obtaining this achievement could be luck. Tie Game in the 9th inning or later. YOU MUST BE THE HOME TEAM. and a power hitter and a meat ball to hit out of the park. Good Luck.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/+M36rg==.jpg A Pitcher's Best Friend (10G) - Turn a double play in a non-simulated game.

With a runner on first base, just keep the ball down in the zone, you are likely to get a ground ball hit to one of your infielders. This achievement is rather easy, should get a few each game you play.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/+S0CPQ==.jpg To the Rescue (10G) - Get a save with the tying run on base in a non-simulated game.

To get a save, your team needs to be ahead by (a maximum of) 3 runs in the 9th inning. But for this achievement, you need to have the TYING run on base. so if you're up by 3, you need the bases loaded; if you're up by 2, you need 2 runners on base; and if you're up by 1 run, you need at least one guy on base. To do this, you can purposely walk batters onto the bases, but try to get 2 outs before putting men on base, guaranteeing the next out to end the game.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/-I-pxA==.jpg A Virtue (20G) - Face 10 pitches as the batter in a non-simulated game.

As stated in the "No Hole Too Deep" Achievement, keep fouling balls off by hitting the right analog left and right on close pitches. Doing this will make this achievement fairly easy.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/+LLmSQ==.jpg Down but Not Out (5G) - Get a hit with 2 strikes in a non-simulated game.

This achievement is worth only 5 points because it is so easy. This achievement is self explanatory. As long as you have 2 strikes, just get a hit. You CAN have 1, 2, or 3 balls as well.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/+VIe2g==.jpg Grab Some Pine (5G) - Get a strikeout to end the inning in a non-simulated game.

Another easy Achievement. As long as you have a good strike-out pitcher, this achievement shouldn't bee too hard at all. Again just throw sliders and fastballs 'low and away' and change-ups 'up and in'.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/+uzzGw==.jpg Mr. Consistency (20G) - Get a hit in all 9 innings in a non-simulated game.

For this Achievement, you may want to boost up your teams batters' stats, putting their contact way up. It may not come easily though, so just keep trying.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/+VgYbw==.jpg Power Grab (10G) - Hit 50 HR with your user profile.

This achievement CAN NOT be obtained in My Player Mode. So in online games and Franchise/Quick Mode just keep blasting home runs. If you are looking for a quick 1000/1000, just slap all of your Power stats to the Max. It won't take long to get to 50 Home Runs, boosting or not.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/+3kR2g==.jpg One Man Show (80G) -Throw a Perfect Game or a No-Hitter on Pro or higher in a 9 inning game, in a non-simulated game.

This Achievement won't get you $1,000,000 anymore unfortunately. BUT almost as good, you'll get 80G!!! (ha...) You can easily get this achievement by boosting online with a friend. Just have them keep bunting to your pitcher and throw to first. Or if you don't have xbox live or friends, just lower all of the batter's stats for a team like the Astros or Orioles and play in a big stadium so they can't hit a cheap home run and it's all pop ups. Good Luck. The Online option, in my opinion, would be your best choice.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/+pnpSQ==.jpg Dual Threat (20G) - Steal base with pitcher in a non-simulated game.

For this Achievement, your best choice is probably to just up the battingand baserunning stats for a pitcher. Hold down the left trigger, and as soon as you see the pitcher start his pitch (as soon as his hands move) let go of the trigger and send your guy running.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/-W8RVw==.jpg Don't Call it a Comeback (10G) - Win after being down by 4 after the 6th inning in a non-simulated game.

This Achievement could be a bit difficult. First you need to give up 4 runs, which is difficult since this game is not al that difficult on Pro difficulty. But then to make it more difficult, you need your offense to explode in those next 3 innings and grab the lead and win. It will help if you use your maxed out team and keep bunting into outs until the top of the 7th inning, and then use that maxed out offense to blast those runs across the plate and win. OR you can take the easy way out and boost with a friend online

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/-04Y4g==.jpg Take That (15G) - Get an RBI after being brushed back off the plate in a non-simulated game.

This Achievement may also be difficult, because you need to count on the opposing pitcher to back you off of the plate. But again, you can boost this one online with a friend.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/+Ljg-A==.jpg This is Why I'm Here (15G) - Be successful in a major league clutch moment in My Player Mode.

Another My Player Mode Achievement, but not too difficult. When you enter a Clutch Moment, You will see it pop up on the bottom of your screen. As a batter all you have to do is get a base hit. As a pitcher, just get that next guy out.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/-Ssn0g==.jpg The Road to Greatness (20G) - Complete and win 3 ranked matches in a row.

This is one difficult achievement, unless you have a boosting partner that will stick around for your 3 wins. If you join someone else's ranked lobby, you won't recieve a Loss if you back out to the main menu.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/-MvfQQ==.jpg The Spice of Life (10G) - Play 10 ranked matches using 10 different teams.

For this Achievement, you just need to go online and use 10 DIFFERENT teams. This could be time consuming. You DO NOT need to win these 10 games, but you do need to finish them. Keep track of which teams you have used so you don't do any repeats.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/-6DutA==.jpg The Team to Beat (15G) - Beat the San Francisco Giants in a completed online match.

This Achievement is easiest if you boost for it. If not, just hope you get in a lobby with a Giants fan and you are able to beat them. Good Luck.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/-YHnAQ==.jpg Count It (10G) - Complete and win a ranked match.

This Achievement is the easiest Online Achievement there is. As long as you can win online, this Achievement is as good as your.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/+jE8UQ==.jpg Your Day (15G) - Win player of the game in an MLB game in My Player Mode.

Another My Player Achievement here. This time to get the Player of the Game Award. You must be in the Majors for this to unlock. But as long as you increasing your stats from Skill Points, you should get this in no time.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/+BA15A==.jpg 2-peat (25G) - Win Back to Back World Series® in My Player Mode.

This My Player Achievement could be a little tough. You must lead your team to the World Series 2 consecutive years and win each time. From my knowledge, you must use the same team both years (Example: Yankees 2012, Yankees 2013). This Achievement CAN be difficult, becasue you must count on the other 24 guys on your team to help you get there and win.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/+fDNdw==.jpg A Job Well Done (25G) - Win 100+ games in a season in My Player Mode.

This Achievement may be a thorn in your side. You must, again, count on your team to help you out for these 100+ wins. The Achievement will unlock at then end of the season or postseason, NOT after you reach the 100-win mark.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/+Wk0uA==.jpg Domination (20G) - Strikeout 200 batters with your user profile.

This Achievement must be obtained in Franchise, Quick Play, or Online Modes. The Description is self explanatory.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/+InMKw==.jpg Production (20G) - Drive in 250 RBI with your user profile.

This Achievement must be obtained in Franchise, Quick Play, or Online Modes. The Description is self explanatory.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/+0g9DQ==.jpg Learning The Ropes (10G) - Achieve gold in all the drills.

This Achievement is not all that difficult. Playing the Drills in My Player Mode DOES count towards this achievement, but you will be required to go to Game Modes and finish up the rest of them. For batting drills, you may want to use a Pujols-like player, for fielding you may want to use a first basemen or outfielder. For the base running drills use a fat runner like Jose Reyes or Andrew McCutchen. As for the pitching drills, use Roy Halladay. Can't go wrong with those players, should be an easy achievement. Before each drill you will be prompted on how to earn each Gold rating.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/-kAWJw==.jpg My Fellow Man (10G) - Complete and win an online league game.

To obtain this Achievement, you must join/host an Online League and win a match-up within that League. Like most Online Achievements, it is recommended that you boost with a friend or fellow x360a user.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/+3sEEQ==.jpg Payback (15G) - Hit a HR off a former team in My Player Mode.

To get this Achievement, you must be in My Player mode as a Batter. Play for a team – say the Boston Red Sox – and then request a trade via Career Decisions in the Menu. Request a trade to a team within the division so you get to play against the Red Sox a lot during the season. Once you join the team – say the New York Yankees – sim up to when you meet the Red Sox next, play that series and smash a home run, the Achievement will bloop as soon as you hit it.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/+pv8gg==.jpg The Hall (75G) - Make the Hall of Fame in My Player Mode.

This Achievement will take a long time to achieve. You need 5 or 6+ seasons in My Player Mode to obtain 12 Goals (Ex: 300 Career HR, 2000 Career K's, 1,000 Career RBI, etc.) it is STRONGLY recommended that you use a pitcher!!! Because 6 people, including myself, have played the 900 or so games for goal completion, but it never popped for any of us. But i also know 3 other people who have played My Player as a pitcher, and have unlocked the achievement first try.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/+Lr1Nw==.jpg The Champs (20G) - Win a World Series® in Franchise Mode. (play at least 20 games)

See Description up above in Step #1 in the Guide Overview. You just have to win the World Series, might as well keep using your custom maxed-out team.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/-Rgezg==.jpg The Top (30G) - Become the #1 ranked player in your My Player organization.

If you choose a team like the Pirates or Orioles or Padres, this achievement will come sooner due to the fact that their best players are usually around 94 out of the possible 99. After about 3 or 4 seasons, you should be just about maxed out, so this shouldn't take all too long.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/-zkXew==.jpg The Star (40G) - Make the All-Star team in My Player Mode.

For this Achievement, all you really need to do is be good. As long as you are towards the top of the Stat Leaders, you should make it in. if you are a batter, around 50+ RBI and maybe 20 HR should get you in easily. For a pitcher, 8-10 Wins and an ERA below 3.5 should get you into the All-Star Game. The Achievement will pop when you reach the date of the All-Star Game. YOU WILL GET IT IF YOU CHOOSE NOT TO PLAY THE GAME, it'll pop up as soon as you click 'No' when prompted if you want to play it or not. Do not be alarmed if you do not make the All Star Game in the Year 1, since you will probably be called up too late to boost up your stats enough. Year 2 you will most likely get the achievement.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/+CMM+A==.jpg A Day in the Life (10G) - Play a game of MLB Today.

For this Achievement, you need an internet connection, obviously. The achievement is rather simple, as soon as you get to the games main menu, there is a list of games on the right side of the screen. These are the actual real-life games for that chosen day. select one and click play. You can do it on 3 innings, or 6 innings if you choose to. This Achievement has some issues not popping up, so if you just keep playing, you'll eventually get it.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/+gIFTQ==.jpg Mid-Summer Classic (40G) - Play the All-Star game in MLB Today.

Same as "A Day in the Life", but you must wait until the actual date of the All Star Game. This year it is JULY 12, 2011. All you have to do id play the game, it is not necessary to win to get this Achievement.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/++L93g==.jpg King of the Hill (20G) - Get to the top of the Best of the Best ladder in Home Run Derby® Mode.

This, like previous years, is one of the most difficult Achievement on the list. You must battle through all 20 of 2010's best home run hitters. This is near impossible to do legit. So I advise you to Choose a player and Max out his stats. From here, get the list (below) and lower all of their stats *NOTE: A FEW OF THE NAMES ON THIS LIST HAVE CHANGED DUE TO ROSTER UPDATES*

20. Carlos Gonzalez (COL)

19. David Ortiz (BOS)

18. Troy Tulowitzki (COL)

17. Alex Rodriguez (NYY)

16. Carlos Pena (CUBS)

- (Can change to those 5 batters if you choose)

15. Jim Thome (MIN)

14. Mike Stanton (FLA)

13. Dan Uggla (ATL)

12. Josh Hamilton (TEX)

11. Joey Votto (CIN)

- (another chance to change)

10. Adrian Gonzalez (BOS)

9. Mark Texieria (NYY)

8. Paul Konerko (CWS)

7. Ryan Howard (PHI)

6. Mark Reynolds (BAL)

-(another chance to change)

5. Miguel Cabrera (DET)

4. Prince Fielder (MIL)

3. Adam Dunn (CWS)

2. Jose Bautista (TOR)

1. Albert Pujols (STL)

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/+VoNpA==.jpg What's Your Ring Size? (80G) - Win a World Series® in My Player Mode.

Refer to "2-peat".

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/+n0Zqg==.jpg Remember Me (20G) - Break a record in Franchise Mode. (play at least 20 games)

For this Achievement, you musty be in Franchise mode. This pertains only to MLB Records, not individual team records. This achievement is very glitchy (as is most of them), but it should be specified as a MLB Season or Game record, not a Career record.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/+53hOQ==.jpg You're Special (20G) - Win a season award in Franchise Mode. (play at least 20 games)

This Achievement is referring to awards like MVP, Cy Young, Silver Slugger, Gold Glove, Reliever of the Year, Rookie of the Year, etc. As long as you are playing on Pro difficulty, this should be unmissable.

SECRET ACHIEVEMENTS:

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/-kID7A==.jpg Hawkeye (10G) - Draw a walk on a full count in a non-simulated game.

Refer to "No Hole Too Deep".

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/-6L7fw==.jpg You Did What? (15G) - Hit a HR with a pitcher in a non-simulated game.

For this Achievement, you must hit a Homerun with a pitcher. You can either try Legit with a guy like Carlos Zambrano or CC Sabathia, or boost up the hitting stats on any pitcher and just swing for the fences every at-bat he has. Good Luck, though it is fairly simple and easy.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/+gAQhg==.jpg Throw First and Aim Later (10G) - Miss your throw to first base with 2 outs in a non-simulated game.

This is one of the rare MLB 2K 'original' Achievements. For this Achievement, you must throw the ball away when there are two outs. It is extremely easy to get. With two outs, pitch low in the zone to get a groundball. As soon as one of your infielders fields the ball, just hold down the B button then whole way into the red, don't let go of the B button until the ball is on it's way to First Base. 98% of the time you will throw the ball away and pull the First Basemen off of the bag. Achievement will pop as soon as the runner is called safe.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/-wouZw==.jpg Upset Alert (10G) - Use the Pittsburgh Pirates in a completed ranked match.

This Achievement is called 'Upset Alert', but you aren't required to Win. Just use the Pirates in an Online Match. It'll pop as soon as the game is over. As a Die-Hard Pirates fan, this hurts, though i understand. Next year, it'll be "Win the World Series as the Cubs". Now THAT is funny.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/-urW9A==.jpg EpidemiK (20G) - Complete an online game against a 2K developer or a player who already has this achievement.

This Achievement is just a Viral Achievement. Play a game against someone else that has this Achievement, and as soon as the game is over, you will get the Achievement.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1746/-tnv6A==.jpg Back to the Cage (10G) - Get a Golden Sombrero (strikeout 4 times in 1 game) in My Player Mode.

Another rare 'Original' 2K Achievement. This one is to strike out 4 times in My Player Mode. For this, it is easiest to do as a Batter (since being a National League pitcher doesn't guarantee you 4 at bats). Just swing extra early on every pitch and strike out 4 times. Do this early in your career so you don't risk drawing an Intentional Walk.

Hey guys I have a question regarding the franchise based achievements.

1. Does the amount of innings played each game affect the achievements?

So if my games are only 6 innings long will that affect the achievements.

Thanks!

i'm pretty sure the only one it will effect is the no-hitter achievo. the rest should be fine.

So even if I put it on 3 innings it will be fine?

If what you are looking to Achieve is possible in only 3 innings, go right ahead. Most "in-game" achievements pop up during the game and say nothing about innings unless it;s the No-Hitter or the "at least one hit in all 9 innings" Achievements.

How do you get the mid-summer classic?

Check the guide. You must wait until July 12th to get it. And you cant try to change your xbox date offline to july 12th, because you need to be online to get it. :/ So we are all just waiting and waiting.

  • 2 weeks later...

Break a record in Franchise Mode. (play at least 20 games)

For this Achievement, you musty be in Franchise mode. This pertains only to MLB Records, not individual team records. This may take some time, as it is rumored that it is refering to a Career record.

- Is there anyone that can confirm this? By the achievement stating (play at least 20 games) is would seem to me that it's not a career record, but I'd like to know what I'm gunning for as I didn't get it after a couple of sims last night.

I tried setting the single game record for walks, but didn't get it, even after simming the season. Might be either looking for a single season MLB record, or it's just glitching on me.

I'm pretty sure its a single season MLB record. I set a ton of single game and team records long before I got a single season record and it never popped.

Still a very easy achievement to get it. It's pretty easy to break most single season records by the all-star break if you are playing 9 inning games on Pro.

This is a side-note i will be adding into the guide, but i will post it here as well so it wont be overseen; for the Hall of Fame achievement, it is STRONGLY recommended that you use a pitcher!!! Because several people, including myself, have played the 900 or so games to reach the Hal of Fame goal completion. But it never popped for any of us (5 separate people). But i also know 3 other people who have played My Player as a pitcher, and have unlocked the achievement first try. so don't waste your time as a batter, if you are looking for the Hall of Fame achievement.

Your hall of fame description is way off. Do you need 12 goals? Yes but look you need to have 5 of them in season 2 in team and 5 in career.

You will get the team goals just by basically winning the world series so no prob there

Season goals MVP All star 100 rbi Silver Slugger and 95 rating are almost guaranteed if not guaranteed just by normal play + simming

Career Goals again normal play + simming will get you 5 all star app, 2 mvp, .800 ops in 6 or more seasons, .290 avg in 6 or more seasons. The only thing you will have to try for is just 1 other goal such as rbi hr sb. Well just keep upgrading your speed and sb will be no problems you only need to average roughly 50 a season to 300 in a career. So all that comes out to is roughly 12-13 4 steal games a season which is about 75 total games. You can pretty much break the 300 steals barrier in one season if you had the Patience to do that.

Therefore its actually really easy to make the hall just time consuming.

ummmm you just said the exact same thing that the Guide said. not sure why you say it's 'way off'. i never said it was difficult, just time consuming. and not everyone got the achievement as soon as retiring. i have retired two different occasions as a hitter and never got it and tried retiring multiple times on each save file. so now i'm just working on getting it as a pitcher, because i know i got that way to work in 2k10. that's all.

For "To the rescue" ProjectSix wrote this in the achievement list.

The achievement description doesn't imply it, but what you need to do is bring your closer in AFTER the tying run is already on base. So if you're up by 1, get 2 outs in the 9th, walk the next guy (right thumbstick) then bring your closer in to finish it off. Your closer can't be the one to allow the runners to get on base

For "He taketh away" the easiest way is to make a 6'11" 99 overall and fill your fielding line up with him, play against a team of maxed out hitters and hammer "X" every time it prompts you. Make sure you are the home team so you don't need to waste time batting. Restart if you haven't got it after 3 outs.

Is what you put that is a HORRIBLE DESCRIPTION

you should reword it so you say excatly what it needed example:

You need 12 Goals total. 5 of them must be season goals 2 of them must be team goals and 5 of them must be career goals.

Season goals: List here which ones youll get automatically by just playing normally such as .300 batting avg or something which is really really easy to do also list here if there is not enough extremely easy ones to accomplish ones you think they should try for that are moderately easy but time consuming.

Team goals: not much to say win the world series and this is completed

Career Goals: You make it sound like you need all of H RBI SB HR ETC ETC. This is where you should make clear to people here are the 5 easiest goals to obtain which are if you are a batter: 2 MVPS, .800 OPS over 6 seasons, .290 Avg over 6 seasons, 5 all star appearances. THEN MENTION they only need ONE of the remaining things you mentioned. You dont need ALL of the things that are mentioned just one. By reading your guide i would assume oh i need career numbers in H RBI SB HR and other crap. You dont you only need one.

That is how to write a description of an achievement
