Red Alert 3: Commander's Challenge is a real-time strategy game composed of 50 short scenarios in the same part of the Command & Conquer universe/timeline as the retail game Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3. If you have played the retail game, you should be familiar with the music, interface, units, etc. Note that while x360a lists the game title as "Red Alert 3: Commander's Challenge" it is listed on the Xbox marketplace simply as "Commander's Challenge." The achievements are related to beating all challenges, beating all challenges under par time, and a few scenario specific achievements (such as Recycler, where you have to kill 20 Steel Ronin enemy units.)

Note that dojo rushing is a viable means of beating most of the scenarios under par time. If you are comfortable with this approach, the game should not present any particular difficulties.

Step One: Tutorial

There is one achievement (Star Pupil) tied to completing the tutorial, and it is reasonably quick to complete. There are five missions in the tutorial, and you will likely spend more time listening to the instructors than actually doing anything.

Step Two: Main Path Challenges

There are 13 main path challenges. There is a known glitch associated with completing them under par. To avoid the glitch and properly receive your achievements, complete one of them OVER par, and then complete the rest under par. This will unlock Dead Meat, Battle Tested, and Victor. Once Victor unlocks, then go back and complete any over par main path challenges to unlock Superior Commander. Note that if you forget to do this you may be forever unable to unlock Superior Commander, even if you uninstall the game and delete your save and start over from scratch.

When playing the Symphony of Steel challenge, be sure to unlock Recycler. Note that you will likely not be able to get Recycler and also stay under par time, so this is a good mission to leave over par to avoid the Superior Commander glitch.

If you follow the achievement guide, you should also play 2 of the side challenges along the way to unlock specific units that make some of the main path challenges easier.

Step Three: Side Challenges

There are 37 side challenges, and the same glitch as the main path challenges applies. To avoid the glitch, complete one of the challenges over par, then complete all the rest under par. This will unlock Future Leader. Go back and beat par time on the one mission you left over par to unlock King of the World. Note that if you forget to do this you may be forever unable to unlock King of the World, even if you uninstall the game and delete your save and start over from scratch.

As you play the side challenges, get the three remaining secret achievements on their relevant maps. As with Recycler, this will likely involve going over par time for each of those maps, so they are good choices to avoid the King of the World glitch.

Conclusion:

Commander's Challenge is a fun but challenging addition to the C&C universe. There are YouTube videos for all of the challenges, so if you get stuck there is definitely assistance available.
