XBOX ISAAC82
For anyone struggling with the 1000 drift achievement I'd advise you to do the following: First you will need to have: Have unlocked Rio de Janeiro drift event. Reach about level 15 (Recommended for vehicle upgrades). Now purchase Ford Mustang or similar car. Upgrade vehicle Engine but nothing else. Start the Rio de Janeiro drift event. At the end of the first straight you will come to an intersection where the road widens. Stop here. Pause and click on 'Help & Options'. Now click on 'Controls' and make sure you have it on Accelerometer mode. Click on the 'Auto Accelerate' so it changes to 'Off'. Back out and unpause game. You will notice a small pedal in the bottom right of the screen. Start tapping this as you tilt your phone to begin doing doughnuts. Once you get a bit of speed up tap the break once so you start to drift. Once the drift is started you need to control the power because if there is too much you will slam into the wall and the drift will finish and if there is too little the car will just stop drifting. Keep the doughnut going until the achievements pops. Using this method I managed about 4000 in a single drift. Arsenic 17
Thanks for the good spot. There are very few locations wide enough to do this it seems. This method (I followed it exactly ) took me around 15 minutes to get the timing and tapping just right not to keep hitting the walls. I linked this to this guide! Jappe XBA
Got 834 on first try and 1,905 on second try. This was a lifesaver since before this I only managed to get about 130 while trying it legally

XBOX ISAAC82
Any other specific car suggestions for this achievement? I upgraded the Mustang before checking this thread. Yes, use the Caterham as it seems to work fine. Also I have updated the original thread over at Trueachievements.com since then. First you will need to have: - Unlocked Rio de Janeiro (preferably the drift event). - Reached about level 15 (Recommended for vehicle upgrades but is still doable without). 1. Now purchase Ford Mustang, Caterham CSR or similar car. See comments 2. Upgrade vehicle Engine but nothing else. 3. Start the Rio de Janeiro drift event. 4. At the end of the first straight you will come to an intersection where the road widens. Stop here. 5. Pause and click on 'Help & Options'. 6. Now click on 'Controls' and make sure you have it on Accelerometer mode. 7. Click on the 'Auto Accelerate' so it changes to 'Off'. 8. Back out and unpause game. 9. You will notice a small pedal in the bottom right of the screen. 10. Start tapping this as you tilt your phone to begin doing doughnuts. 11. Once you get a bit of speed up tap the break once so you start to drift. 12. Once the drift is started you need to control the power because if there is too much you will slam into the wall and the drift will finish and if there is too little the car will just stop drifting. 13. Keep the doughnut going until the achievements pops.
