JMNELSON
I'm looking at a 1080p one that is really easy to set up and use. I want to try and keep the price in the range of 50 to 70 dollars. Any help and guidance is appreciated.
Rep
I don't think you're going to get the "Best" capture card, or even a decent one, with your price range. Get some more money to get the "best" capture card, here: http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/intensity/ http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_hdpvr.html Or you can get a Dazzle but you're not going to get the quality you're looking for. Never Final
I have this one in my pc. Records from nearly any input including HDMI. Comes with hookups for all the others. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815100049 Its not in your price range but only a little more and most of the high end ones do the same thing. Really good quality. It was used to record the following. Its a youtube video so the quality is a little lower but it still looks really good. iBuzz7S
HD PVR - you get what you pay for. It may seem pricey, but if you're looking at sharing near-perfect quality uploads on YouTube, then it's the way to go.

Gackt
Above what you're looking to pay but this one is really good [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Elgato-Capture-PlayStation-Recorder-10025010/dp/B00840353W]Amazon.com: Elgato Game Capture HD PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 Recorder for Mac and PC up to 1080P (10025010): Computers & Accessories[/ame]
iBuzz7S
How in the hell does the HD PVR cost more than the HD PVR 2 Gaming Edition? Amazon is weird! I've used both the HD PVR and the HD PVR 2 Gaming Edition. The HD PVR would be perfect and you can pick it up for a decent cost, or just find one used and it can suit your price range. If you're looking for something 'future-proof', then look for the HD PVR 2 or wait for Elgato to release something new. I'm waiting for my YouTube money to roll in so I can scrap Hauppauge and move over to Elgato.
TVthePunisher
If I were to go with Dazzle (I know I'm not the TC), is it any good? I saw two versions at Bestbuy...thinking I might want to record some stuff myself. I know I hate recording via a camera.
quickhhh
I have an HD PVR from Hauppauge you can get the non gaming ones for around $100-$130 off ebay. I don't think you'll find any thing cheaper then that without loosing the HD format you want. And make sure you really want one before you buy it. I got one a few months ago and have yet to find time making videos.
Maka
There's no such thing as an amazing capture card under $70. If you want amazing quality, easy to use and set-up then you basically have 3 options: Hauppauage HD PVR 2 - I use this brand, but the 1212 model. Videos in signature. Will record 1080p @ 30fps, or 720p @ 60fps. Elgate Game Capture - Better for livestreaming Black Intensity If you're looking to save money, but make the process a little more complex and lose quality, I'd recommend: Roxio Game Capture Dazzle How in the hell does the HD PVR cost more than the HD PVR 2 Gaming Edition? Amazon is weird! Back when the HD PVR came out, it was basically a market monopoly, so they charged $220 on average, and kept those prices on the older models after they released newer ones for cheaper to compete with other companies that just entered the market. Arrrk
I use a Hauppage HD-PVR and while it isn't really expensive, it can leave your wallet feeling a bit empty. The quality it records at is great, but if you're uploading to Youtube, it will never look as good as what you originally recorded, but still pretty darn good. Even games that are less "flashy" like Minecraft still suffer slightly, but as I say it's a Youtube problem, not a capture card one, and it's hardly noticeable: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EiVIObtHdps]Drunken Minecraft 96 - OBAMA'S BABY MAMA'S POMMA MARTINI - YouTube[/ame] The only problem I have with the Hauppage (and it's something that a fair amount of people have reported) is that it tends to overheat very easily. After a couple of hours of recording I let my tower fan have a good solid blast for 10 minutes to cool it down. There have been to many instances where I have lost the ends of videos, and occasionally entire videos.
