Introduction:

PowerUp Forever is a shoot'em up arcade game for the Xbox 360. I would have to say that is a mix between Geometry Wars and Feeding Frenzy. The gameplay is like Geometry Wars in which you use the left stick to move, right stick to shoot, and right trigger to detonate a bomb. It is like Feeding Frenzy because as you progress through the game, your ship gets bigger and you can kill bigger enemies. This game is enjoyable and should take less than 24 hours of gameplay time to achieve the full 200 if you follow the road map.

Step 1: Arcade Mode

Start up a game of arcade mode on easy(you can play on normal or hard if you are more experienced at these type of games). Fly around shooting the parasites off of dormant enemies(they are gray and don't move) until the meter(at the bottom center of the screen) is full. You will be notified of a Guardian approaching. The best strategy that I found to kill guardians was to bomb them, then use your laser(NOTE: you do not get the laser upgrade until later on in the game). If you run out of laser, then just use the normal "bullets." Always move in a circular motion, and use your shield(left trigger). Once you kill the first Guardian, you will get the achievement "Guardian Killer." Keep playing and after you kill 9 more Guardians, you will get the achievement "Guardian Hero." Now you want to go for the points achievements: "The Big Easy," "Happy Medium," and "Well Hard." Along the way you can obtain "The Bouncer"(just hold left trigger and deflect bullets once you get that upgrade) and "Bully"(as you progress through the game you will spot really small enemies, so just fly over them to squash them until you get the achievement).

Step 2: Overkill Mode

Overkill mode unlocks when you have survived 20 rounds in arcade mode, which if you get the well hard achievement, you should be well over 20 rounds. In Overkill mode you have unlimited weapon power and bombs, so don't be afraid to use them. The first achievement you should go for would be "Hunter Killer." All you have to do is just fly around, but don't kill any parasites. After awhile, enemies will appear that look like throwing stars. They are fast and will shoot at you. Just kill 20 right now and the achievement will be yours. Keep playing and try to beat the levels as fast as you can to try and get the "XXXXX" achievement. All you have to do is trigger the Guardian and kill him before your multiplier runs out. Continue on and when you get up high enough there will start to be a lot of enemies. Try to get them to follow you, then use a bomb and hope to kill at least 50 of them. If you don't then try again, but eventually you will get the achievement "Smarter Than The Average Bomb." Now, just keep playing overkill mode until you get the achievements "Avant-Guardian" and "Grand Master" (NOTE: you do not have to kill 1,000 Guardians in order to get the achievement). These achievements will take a lot of grinding to obtain them, but you have to do it if you want that 200/200.

Conclusion:

PowerUp Forever is a decent game with easy achievements that just take awhile to get. Some enemies rarely show up in the game, so it might take awhile to kill 1,000 of them. Just listen to some music or party chat with friends to help the time go buy. You can check how many enemies you have killed by going to Start --> Help & Options --> Game Statistics.
