Who did you lose?

On my first playthrough? I lost Tali and Mordin. Tali dies because I assigned Legion as the team leader for the second team. I thought he would be a good leader since he was an AI and would be able to process possibilities and tactics faster than a human mind. Or something like that. Anyway, because of that, Tali died when trying to shut the second door. Mordin died as well because I left him behind with everyone else while I fought the human reaper. Should have taken him with me.

The first time I played it through I was so careful to upgrade the ship with the shields and cannons, I chose who should do what on the Suicide Mission VERY carefully, and at the end, just as I thought I was home free..... MORDIN DIES! Biggest 'FUUUUUUUUUUU' moment of my life.

Ugh... Just finished a hardcore playthrough, and had EVERY crew member loyal, had EVERY upgrade that mattered, and picked EVERY specialist, thinking that I had it all set... And then, in the final cutscene, when scrolling through the room that everybody defended, Tali was laying dead... What went wrong???

You need to take 2 of the weakest squad mates with you to the final fight and leave all the big tanks like Grunt, Garrus, and Zaeed. Taking Tali and Legion, 2 of the statistically weakest characters, along with you at the end will increase the teams overall defense which will allow everyone to live. If you take the tanks with you and leave all the lighter characters then people will more than likely die while holding the line.

  • 1 month later...

I played on the PC and lost no one save for the woman that takes care of your hamster aboard the ship.

Spoiler:

I wanted to complete all the side quests before I did the main saving quest, which can't be done when you want to save her. You have to go straight to the area the moment you are attacked and your crew gets taken.

I'll be honest, I picked the game up when it came out, played it, thought it wasn't all that, put it down to gather dust.

Some time later (the past few days), I picked it back up, started playing again, ended the game with like 43 or 44 achievements gained, kept everyone and followed the achievement guide.

Though...I was scared I was going to lose people , because I thought I did something wrong. xD My heart raced during every cut scene and I was on the edge of my chair.

SPOILER ALERT!

I just finished my first play through of ME2 as an infiltrator, and I lost a lot of people on and in the Collector base. I lost...

Legion and Thane from the ship crashing.

Tally when closing the doors when the two teams met up.

Grunt when we went through the swarm room.

Samara and Jack when they were defending the door during the final boss fight.

So, I was wondering, who did you lose?

Wooaah! Did you do this bad on purpose? :p

I haven't played the suicide mission yet, but I'm about to later today, and I'm planning to get everyone safely back to the Normandy :)

Well, Miranda and Legion seemed to be a good pair. Legion is a powerhouse with his sniper and shield upgrade. I was a soldier, so specialized ammo helped too.

I've played through this game at least 5 times now, from Veteran up, finally finished one playthrough of Insanity to 100% it.........I've never lost a squadmate.

I honestly don't know how people do, if you take the time to upgrade the Normandy and upgrade the weapons and powers of your crew and pick the right people for the right jobs you should be 100% fine.

In fact, I'm going to playthrough and NOT do that stuff and intentionally lose some people, just to see.:)

Made it through my first playthrough without losing anyone. had all the ship upgrades plus everyones loyalty @ 100%. when choosing which players to send where in the collector base make sure you send the teammates with the proper attributes for the task @ hand!

  • 3 weeks later...

i did this and lost Legion and Thane

i sent Thane into the vents and he gets killed at the door, but he was the only 1 i didnt have loyal as i messed that up (im not fussed about restarting for achievements etc)

and i lost Legion when i selected him as part of my squad where Jack uses her biotic.

So no Legion or Thane in Mass effect 3 for me :(

Oh yeah, and i have no crew whatsoever, i didnt send anyone back as i didnt realise i would only need to send back 1 person (i got distracted, doh)

Interested to see how that pans out in ME3 though!
