Survival Mode out of bounds?

Last night I played like 4 hours of survival mode on the Rail yard map. Today when I play it, like 90% of the map is considered out of bounds and it says "return to the shootout". I can no longer reach areas of the map that I was able to last night. It will automatically fail me and return me to free roam now. Also my friend was able to drive a car around the survival game even though last night that vehicles were restricted in survival. What the hell is goin on here?

Rockstar has decided that survival was just too much fun before. To compensate, they have decided to hotfix it just like they did with Rooftop Rumble to make the game less fun and give you a harder time earning money. That way, instead of making that 20K when you finish survival, you will be enticed to buy their microtransactions.

What has the rewards for completing Survival been reduced to? Haven't finished all 10 waves in awhile

I am pretty sure they didn't change the reward, they just made it harder to get. I personally hated survival before this hotfix and am not going to be playing another especially after this.

So they actually intentionally restricted the maps down to a ridiculously small section of the map containing no cover? They did not notice they would basically ruin this game mode? The map obviously looks like it is intended to be much larger because now pretty much all pieces of cover are out of bounds. You have to basically stand in the open now. I guess they don't want people to actually continue playing their game. I would expect their goal would be getting players to keep playing the game. They punish people who are actually just playing it. R* never used to come off as douchy. Shame on them.

I believe it was certainly intentional. Rockstar probably had a vision of how certain things are supposed to play out. That vision did not include getting on rooftops and going in cars. Instead of embracing how the community plays they essentially forcing you to play the game their way.

This wouldn't be a problem except for the fact that the way they want you to play it is bland, annoying and restrictive. :(

Yes very bland. Last night vehicles were restricted but today they are not. I cant imagine why they wouldn't want people on rooftops or at least in some reasonable cover. I mean it wasn't like a glitch there are ladders all over these maps. This is a sandbox game that has so many restrictions now that its basically too boring to play. For a GTA game you would have to try pretty hard to make it boring. Well done Rockstar. Fucking idiots

Can't say I'm surprised. Compared to GTA IV online, I've noticed prices are higher and there is no armor and weapons lieing around and you have to buy decent cars and not steal them. Personally I think the micro transaction for in game cash is a stupid idea. The game is bad enough when people can kill you and steal your game cash but if you being edged into actually buying your cash then people are actually robbing your money or at least thinking they might be - it's gonna cause a sh1t storm. I wouldn't be surprised if a casino magically appears in the game somewhere! I think the 250 k gift cash appearing soon is just a test to see if the program is stable before the cash Micro transaction opens on the marketplace, then it will be private lobbys all round only till they can force you into public!

I'm not really a fan of survival. Maybe it's not for me or maybe it's because I just haven't played it enough. Fan or not, it's pretty crappy they did that and it's quite laughable! I don't even get it! In some of those survivals I would be destroyed if I had to bunker down closer to the center and use less of the map. And it's not like you're getting a ton of rp and cash for nothing, you still had to work at it!

Haha Rockstar! Perhaps they'll extend the boundaries back out because this is just silly.

If we keep bitching at them, they might change it back.

They totally fucked up Undead Overrun in Red Dead, limiting playable area, sudden death (and I mean fucking sudden!) when the time ran out so no one had to spectate while another player used the last of his/her ammo and a couple of other tweaks.

We all hated it and everyone complained constantly to them about it and they changed it back.

So how do you do Unnatural Selection if parts of map are out of bounds? Are the old methods for it still doable?

Ha! I initially thought you were talking about the achievement with the same name from Red Dead... :D

At any rate, if you do Boneyard (two people is ideal) right when you start look to your right for a grey structure right against the red brick wall. If that's still in bounds (I haven't checked) post up on the the back of the building on both sides so you are between it and the red brick wall.

All the enemies will run straight into your fire zone and largely will not shoot at you and helicopters have a hell of a time targeting you.

I did it by myself using this method on Monday night...

Talking about this location, I can confirm it still works!

What you mean by kicked out!? By the game for camping on the roof or got kicked your ass by red-necks!?

The roof area is probably considered out of bounds now. The game doesn't exactly do a good job of telling you that you are out of bounds before terminating the game.

I did Railyard today. Several of the good locations are noe out of bounds. I couldn't find a good solo spot. Looks like Rockstar is trying to force survival to be a multi person mission.

Then they need to stop listing them as being for 1-4 players when you start them.

Thing is so much of the online is already geared to multiplayer but there are so many starting modes geared to solo or private. I have actually started to prefer online to offline and play it solo, play the online story missions, boost and sell some cars and play golf. The fixes are started to resemble what Gearbox did to Borderlands 2, after all Microsoft doesn't want a game to be too much fun otherwise you may keep playing it and not buy to the next they pimp on us.

BTW I play solo simply because I totally agree with your signature, lol.

Oh, do you mean by how they "fix" things that aren't broken in favor of things that clearly are?

Indeed.

I wonder if Spock knows (or cares, rather) that I've quoted him in my sig?

Didn´t play survival for 2 days, so I´m not sure what changed, but it sounds like R* is being douches again, they basically are fixing stuff that people don´t want to get fixed or there isn´t even anything to fix about it and they just do shit and they take too damn long time fixing stuff that people want to get fixed, they also want/do/try to ban people for exploit with selling cars, and not only ingame ban or some shit but account bans, seriously screw you R*, I thinked you have a bit more class, you obviously lost it.
