Achievements and General Guide

Yeaaaah I guess I'll give it a go. It's a simple game with really easy achievements. Understanding the language is not required with the translation images that I have provided. I'll break down a list of achievements with names in English for anyone still interested. Everything I write here will likely not be an exacting translation but the names and descriptions I use will make them easy to understand as well as match the criteria within the game itself. If you're unsure of who or what something is, just search the name in google.

Enabling Text Support in Windows 7

I found out pretty early on that Windows 7 does not like to display foreign characters. If you have anything under Ultimate, Microsoft will gladly tell you to pay them $150 for an upgrade to buy Ultimate to get support. To me, that's an unacceptable solution as much as is creating a second user account; here's what I did.

  1. Click Start
  2. Control Panel
  3. Region and Language
  4. Administrative tab
  5. Language for non-Unicode programs
  6. Change System Locale
  7. Japanese
  8. Restart your computer

With this, you'll be able to view the text in the game (as well as other programs) as opposed to plain empty spaces or random Unicode characters that render some options virtually unrecognizable. This may affect programs that you do not intend it to such as an IRC client. Usually, any affected programs will still display English but it might be Full Width Alpha-Numeric or in a Windows font like MS Mincho. Most people probably won't experience any differences in their typical software and the setting is changed back just as easily once you're done with the game for good.

Brief Menu Translations

Rather than re-linking an image several times I'll simply post them here for you to refer back to. This is a brief guide as I'm not going to translate the whole game. Everything that is not included in here should be easy enough to figure out on your own (options not withstanding).

Note: Clicking on the SYSTEM button in the top right corner in menu screens or the top centre in missions is the equivalent to pressing escape in most games. This is how you bring up in-game menu or pause the game.

Click the below images to expand them.

Achievements

IMPORTANT: The Complete Story achievement can only be unlocked if you trigger the Müller flagship transfer event on your first play through of the imperial campaign. Doing it after you complete the campaign once does NOT meet the full requirements as there are special circumstances when you're playing a new game for the first time. It is worth pointing out now that all achievements can be obtained on the lowest difficulty setting and it is advised to play on this setting as it's much faster.

Character Reference:

Use this list in conjunction with the game and the guides below. If you don't know who a character is, either compare the game text to here or web search the Katakana names so you know what a character looks like.

You have cleared all of the Tutorial Mode

Guide:
This is done quite easily by going through all three Tutorial Missions (Image 1.0) and following the instructions provided to you. While the instructions are in Japanese, it will often highlight the action it is trying to teach to you. When the instructions given don't highlight anything, just destroy any enemy ships you find.

Unlock all characters that can be used in combat

Guide:
There are 75 characters to unlock and the vast majority of them will unlock through normal play but some will require special circumstances. For these, you must either ensure their survival within a mission or wait until the 2nd Round of a campaign and meet their special criteria. If you're missing an admiral and he appears in a mission, try ensuring his survival if he's an ally or killing him if he's an enemy when you replay it. All characters except those listed here should unlock by default as you progress through the campaign unless you fail missions miserably. Note that once unlocked it becomes irrelevant if any characters die; this includes Kircheis.

Save in mission

  • Jean Robert Lapp
    [ジャン・ロベール・ラップ] (Alliance Mission 3)

  • Nguyen Van Huu
    [グエン・バン・ヒュー] (Alliance Mission 9)

  • Karl Gustav Kempff
    [カール・グスタフ・ケンプ] (Imperial Mission 14)

2nd Round

  • Frederica Greenhill
    [フレデリカ・グリーンヒル] (Alliance Mission 4)

  • Julian Mintz
[ユリアン・ミンツ] (Alliance Mission 4 is the earliest he can become available as he is unlocked by clearing every mission as rank S)

  • Hildegard von Mariendorf
[ヒルデガルド・フォン・マリーンドルフ] (Imperial Mission 16, no special criteria should be required)

Watch all the drama of the imperial campaign and alliance campaign

IMPORTANT: See: imperial mission 18

Guide:
This is one of the two most time consuming achievements in the game. For this achievement you need to trigger all story events. You can easily miss some depending on how you play the game (such as saving a character). Events are distinct for both sides so even if it's the same event, you will need to do it on both sides. This can actually be done efficiently in only two rounds per campaign which is required for several other achievements that you can earn in the process anyway. The 1st Round will be difficult at times while the 2nd Round will be much easier as a result of higher levels, saved characters, and better results when the game prompts you for a decision.

1st Round of each campaign:

  • Ensure that you trigger all events.

  • Don't worry about clearing all missions at rank S.

  • Let all death events occur as per the mission guide below.

  • Trigger all four choice prompts and choose the bottom option every time.

2nd Round of each campaign:

  • Ensure that you trigger all events.

  • Make up any missions at rank S as needed. If you still can't do a mission by now, create a separate save for that mission when you get to it and continue the campaign on another save slot. Any character levels earned carry over to any save file so you can always return to that specific mission later with much stronger characters.

  • Save all characters with death events as per the mission guide below.

  • Trigger all four choice prompts and choose the top option every time.

As long as you make sure not to miss any events and you make different choices on each round, the achievement will be granted when you complete the final mission on the 2nd Round of whichever campaign you complete last.

Alliance Campaign Events

Mission 3

  • Injury of Paetta

  • Death of Lapp

  • Survival of Lapp

Mission 4

  • Schönkopf's capture of Iserlohn: Walter von Schönkopf must be a flank commander and will leave your fleet as you near Iserlohn to capture it.

Mission 8

  • Artemis Necklace event
    [selection prompt]
: Prior to the mission you will be presented with two choices which are both distinct events.

    1. Destroy Artemis Necklace.

    2. Weaken Artemis Necklace.

Mission 9

  • Death of Nguyen

  • Survival of Nguyen

Mission 10

  • Schönkopf event: In the fleet assembly window, leave Schönkopf where he is. When you are in the mission and Reuenthal has taken enough damage, the event where Schönkopf attacks should trigger.

  • Attenborough event
    [selection prompt]
: This is perhaps the most difficult event in the game to trigger and I am unsure what the exact criteria for it is. I also do not know what the event is even about.

To trigger the event, follow these steps.

    - On fleet assembly, change nothing. Do not fill empty spaces, do not move people around.

    - Damage Reuenthal, then attack him with Attenborough's fleet to activate the Schönkopf event.

    - After this, damage Reuenthal and Lennenkampf until they both have less than half health.

    - By this time you are likely nearing the damage limit. If the event has not activated yet then move your fleets away from the enemy and wait.

Attenborough wants to do something and you, as Yang, make the decision.

    1. Disallow.

    2. Allow.

Mission 12

  • Appearance of Helmut Lennenkampf: Avoid destroying him until this mission.

Mission 13

  • Decoy Fleet: Lure the enemy to the fleet that you can't control to trigger the self-destruction event.

Mission 14

  • Müller's flagship transfer: This is a distinct event from that of the achievement on the imperial side despite appearing to be identical; you still need to damage Reinhard first only for Müller to appear for you to destroy. Remember that this applies only to their personal ships and not the other ships that comprise their respective fleets.

Imperial Campaign Events

Mission 6

  • Injury of Paetta

Mission 7

  • Destruction of Castrop Necklace: Sometimes, but not often, the pathing of the allied AI fleet will bug into an inactive mode where they will not approach and destroy the Castrop Necklace thereby disallowing you entry to the planet.

Mission 8

  • Arrival of alliance re-supply fleet: There will be at least two re-supply fleets with no combat abilities that head towards the two planets nearest to where you start. Do not destroy them and wait for them to arrive at each planet to trigger the event.

Mission 10

  • Yang and Bittenfeld encounter: On fleet assembly you will not be able to remove Bittenfeld from the fleet admiral position. In the mission, have his fleet travel to the southern side of the star to encounter Yang and trigger the event.

Mission 11

  • Ovlesser's fate event
    [selection prompt]
: As you assault the fortress you will be presented with two choices which are both distinct events.

    1. Ovlesser is not executed.

    2. Ovlesser is executed.

Mission 13

  • Westerwald Rhineland event
    [selection prompt]
: Prior to the mission you will be presented with two choices which are both distinct events (
    see further:
    Kircheis' Survival
    ).

    1. Save the Westerwald Rhineland.

    2. Do not save the Westerwald Rhineland.

Mission 14

  • Death of Kempff (also let Geiersberg take damage until the enemy is able to invade it)

  • Survival of Kempff

Mission 18

IMPORTANT:
This
MUST
be done on your first play through of the game on the imperial campaign or you will not be able to return later and do it. If you failed to activate this event the first time you completed mission 18, you will have to delete your save data and start all over. This event does not count for the
Impregnable Flagship
achievement as the Perceval will not appear until you've already completed the imperial campaign once.

  • Müller's flagship transfer: This is a distinct event from that of the alliance side despite appearing to be identical. Reinhard must take a little amount of damage to trigger the initial event which causes Müller to appear. Once Müller is available, he must then take damage until the next part of the event is triggered in which he is portrayed as leaving his ship. This should be achieved through normal play and allowing both of them to take a sustainable amount of damage. Remember that this applies only to their personal ships and not the other ships that comprise their respective fleets.

You made full use of all formations

Guide:
This is one of the easiest achievements in the game. Just use every fleet formation. You won't have access to all formations at the start of the game but as you earn more characters they will be able to execute different formations. You can see which they are capable of on their information window when you assemble a fleet.

Destroyed more than 100 enemies in one firing of Thor's Hammer

Guide:
This one can be a little tricky but is easy enough overall. Go to the Skirmish menu and select a map with Iserlohn. This will either be the second or third map in the list depending on which side you want to play as. The second map is for the imperial side, the third map is for the alliance side. This is important because you want to control the fortress. What you need to do is detach a single commander who has no ships following him and send him into the fortress. Then lure enough ships (both yours and the enemy's) into a narrow field to ensure more ships are hit by the firing of the planet's weapon. The reason this can be tricky is that the weapon takes a while to finish the firing sequence and the enemy ships, if close enough to the planet, will almost always run away whenever it's about to fire.

When you assemble the fleets, choose the lowest leveled characters you have for both sides to fill every slot. However, put your highest level character that will be on the side you control into a flank slot. Detach that flank and send him into the planet. This may increase the amount of damage it does but it will surely reduce the resistance of all ships to its effects as they are lower in level. Put all of the fleets on both sides into starting formations that are the closest to lengthwise lines. This will either be the arrrow formation or the two-by-two formation.

Rush all of your ships in front of Iserlohn in the exact middle of the map on the side of the planet facing the enemy area and stack them all as close together as possible (I had my ships face towards the planet so as not to bog down the enemy movements with attacks). Now all you need to do is fire. If you time it correctly, the beam will go through all of your fleets and several of the enemy fleets since they will merge as they move closer to you but they will not run from the beam since they are still farther out. It may take several tries and you may decide to try another method but in the end you only need to destroy a hundred ships regardless of who'se they are.

By reconnaissance aircraft, you identified the location of eight enemy fleets

Guide:
Simply send out scout planes to locate the enemy before your ships do. The Flank Commanders may count as individual fleets as I unlocked this without ever sending out many scouts.

You took the enemy fleet by surprise!

Guide:
Flanking an enemy fleet is all you need to do. This should unlock during normal game play but if you wish to expedite it try to attack the enemy from behind or use the 'surround' command available on certain fleet formations.

Occupy more than 10 enemy fortresses or planets

Guide:
During multiple missions you are presented with the task of either defending or attacking territory. This will either be Iserlohn Fortress or various planets. All you must do is capture enemy controlled areas until the achievement is earned. When your fleet lands on a planet it will begin capturing it but an enemy fleet may also land or already be inside; in this case you will simply have to destroy them to capture the territory. This could also be done by playing a mission with territory to capture, failing it after you've captured something, saving the game and retrying the mission.

Get Müller's new flagship

IMPORTANT: This is a distinct version of the Müller flagship transfer in the imperial campaign and can only be done after having already completed the imperial campaign. This event will not compensate for failing to trigger the version of the Müller flagship transfer, required for the Complete Story achievement, when you first played mission 18. The Perceval will not appear until you've already completed the imperial campaign once.

Guide:
This takes place in imperial mission 18 like the initial versions of this event (
See:
Complete Story
). For the sake of the story, both imperial mission 18 and alliance mission 14 are the same battle however, any events that appear to be the same, such as the flagship transfer event, will be counted as distinct by the game.

Part 1 - Set-up
: This one is a little bit more complex than most of the achievements for the game. When you get to the fleet assembly for mission 18 (you only control one fleet), the Battle of Vermilion Starzone, assign as many ships as you can to Kircheis (if you saved him) instead of letting Reinhard control all of the ships. When the mission starts, detach Kircheis from the fleet and send him away somewhere so he takes a lot of ships with him. There will be two other fleets with you but you will be unable to control them and despite this they will act as if attached to your fleet so they will not travel unless you do. You will need to move forward until you encounter the enemy; once you do, stay near but turn Reinhard's fleet to face away from any enemy ships so that they will not fight and destroy any.

Part 2 - Müller
: The goal is simply to force Reinhard to take some damage. This is why you previously sent many of your ships away with Kircheis because they would otherwise act as shields with Reinhard in the middle taking very little damage. Either continue to face away from the enemy or move Reinhard in-between several of them. Once Reinhard has taken enough damage, the event will trigger and Müller will appear with his new flagship, the Perceval. You will be able to control his fleet and you may continue the mission normally from this point on. You can also just let Reinhard take enough damage until the point where he would normally be destroyed and this will trigger the mission completion; you will not fail but you will not receive a high rank. Müller will not leave the Perceval, no matter how much damage he takes, unlike all other versions of this event. Once he shows up, you are done.

Guide:
A self-explanatory achievement. Complete a campaign stage without using any missiles.

Using the flight squadron, you sank 5 enemy flagships

Guide:
From what I've seen, any ship that has a character tab associated with it (even one with a blank face) counts as a flagship. You need only to kill these with the fighter craft that you can deploy. It can be a little tricky to do because your ships deal much more damage than the fighters and enemies often use the Retreat option when their health becomes low. So long as your ships are not facing the enemy, they should not be actively firing on it and as long as you keep using the fighters this should unlock through normal game play.

Fill the feat gauge (9 counts)

Guide:
Find a mission with a longer time limit (or try a skirmish game with a custom time limit) and let the feat gauge fill naturally over time. The gauge will reach 9 charges but continue to charge until the bar is full again. Instead of giving you 10 charges, it will just remain there until you use a feat. This is when the achievement unlocks.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/872/UPqC1q8=.jpg Rank A 30http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png

Earn rank A in every STAGE of the empire and alliance (any difficulty)

Guide:
Just complete both campaigns with all missions cleared at rank A. This is best done on the Novice difficulty since it doesn't matter. It will be unlikely to achieve this during your first play through of the game but levels and unlocks will carry over to additional play throughs and you will have to do at least two per side for all achievements anyway. Further details in the Rank S achievement.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/872/UPij3xo=.jpg Rank S 50http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png

Earn rank S in every STAGE of the empire and alliance (any difficulty)

Guide:
The easiest way to do this is on the Novice difficulty setting and on your second play through of both campaigns. Your levels will be higher, you will have more characters to use, and you will also have a better understanding of the game. You need to do it twice anyway.

Every mission has a time limit, a damage limit, and some have specific goals. Ranking is tied primarily to how quickly you complete a mission. The easiest way to finish quickly is to overwhelm the enemy. Constantly use your fighters, missiles, and formation maneuvers to boost your damage output; as well as relying on your superior level characters. Try to reach the damage limit as quickly as possible. Don't waste time chasing down the ships that run away because they will usually come back anyway. Generally if you complete a mission in under 8 minutes you will get ranked S but this by no means an exact number. Additionally, try to limit your losses and especially so when it comes to your commanders.

The imperial campaign mission 14 is by far the most troublesome mission to get rank S on. You can replay the mission until both Müller and Kempff are about level 18 (about four or five times on the 2nd Round). At this point you should use whomever is the higher level (usually Kempff, and he has a better fleet formation capable of doing much higher damage anyway) while leaving the other inside Geiersburg Fortress to continue firing on Iserlohn as much as possible. Finishing under 8 minutes will result in an S rank but do not slack on how much you damage the two enemy fleets either.

You conquered the sky above a fortress or planet

Guide:
Engage and destroy three enemy fleets that have landed on a planet or fortress. This will come up during the campaign a few times for both sides. Whenever the enemy lands on a planet, follow and destroy them over it; it does not matter who controls the planet.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/872/UPzhzHA=.jpg Owners of Luck 30http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Without shooting a disastrous beam weapon even once, you defeated the enemy flagship

Guide:
This one is fairly simple, but you must be careful not to shoot the enemy as well. Go to Skirmish mode and choose any map and play as either side you like. On the fleet assembly screen, use only one fleet and assign either Merkatz, Kempff, or both to the fleet. Remove all ships from your fleet (you are unable to remove the commanders' ships) and add only aircraft carriers. For the enemy, assign only one commander (any) to a fleet and begin the game. You can move your ships forward a little but make certain that you turn them to face away from the enemy's direction so that your commanders do not fire any beam weapons. Soon, the lone enemy ship will come at you. All you need to do is launch your fighters and wait. The number of fighters will be many and they should easily destroy the enemy in one launch.

Together with Kircheis, you took a new step supervising the universe

Guide:
This can only be unlocked during the 2nd Round of the imperial campaign. When you get to mission 13, you will be presented with a choice before the mission starts; one of only four possible times the game asks you for a decision. On your second play through of the imperial campaign, choose the top option to save the Westerwald Rhineland 「ヴェスターラントを救う」(a bomb will still detonate on the planet regardless). Once the mission is complete things will progress normally until you reach the scene where the assassination attempt is made against Reinhard. Rather than killing Kircheis in the process, the assassin will simply be shot dead and Kircheis will survive unscathed.

Jean Robert Lapp carefully fought the Battle of Astarte

Guide:
In alliance mission 3, keep Lapp alive until the mission ends. It is ideal to finish quickly to avoid anything triggering his death. His fleet does not matter, only his personal ship must survive. As long as you can still see his portrait and health bar then he is alive.

On behalf of the injured Paetta, you led the Battle of Astarte

Guide:
When the cutscene in which Paetta falls to the floor is triggered, simply complete the mission normally. I do not believe it is even possible to miss his injury event on the first play through.

Played Frederica Greenhill as a battle fleet commander

Guide:
Frederica Greenhill becomes playable for the alliance once you've cleared every campaign mission and begin your second play through; she will automatically become available. Due to the story, you will not be able to use her (or anyone else) until you reach mission 4 where the game first allows you to configure your fleet. Once you have her available, complete any mission with her as the fleet admiral for any fleet.

Guide:
Julian Mintz becomes playable for the alliance once you've cleared every campaign mission at rank S (some claim A). Once you have him available, complete any mission with him as the fleet admiral for any fleet.

Played Hildegard von Mariendorf as a battle fleet commander

Guide:
Hildegard first becomes available during mission 16 of the 2nd Round of the imperial campaign. No special circumstances should be required to make her appear. Once you have her available, complete any mission with her as the fleet admiral for any fleet.

Some other notes:

- To unlock Julian Mintz you need all S ranks only on the Alliance campaign missions. If he isn't available starting mission 4, just keep playing until he does (for me he got available in the final mission).

- Lapp is situated in the fleet which starts at the top.

- Nguyen and Kempff are situated within your available characters to pick for the fleets.

- Skipping the cutscenes/dialogues/conversations after they were triggered using the "Esc" key does not void the achievement "Complete Story".

- For achievement "Appearance of all Admirals" if you start with the Alliance campaign at the end of your second run, getting all ranks S you should have 6 Imperial admirals unlocked and 32 Alliance admirals unlocked; if you unlock all the possible admirals on your way, you will unlock the achievement when Hildegard appears in mission 16, second run of the Imperial campaign, after you finish the mission and press "Next" at the rank screen.

- In Imperial campaign mission 7 event "Destruction of Castrop Necklace" just lure the fleet, guarding the planet, away, so that your ally can safely get to the planet. That way he will never get glitched.

- In Imperial campaign mission 8 event "Arrival of alliance re-supply fleet" there are only 2 resupply fleets, each going to a planet; do not wait for any others.

- In Imperial campaign mission 14 event "Death of Kempff", in the fleet assembly give Kempff just one ship and the other admiral 10 ships. As soon as possible get Kempff out of the Geiersberg and have him killed (there will be no special cutscene when his ship gets destroyed); send the other fleet inside the Geiersberg; shoot its laser at the Iserlohn about 3-4 times and then stop; let the enemy fleets damage it and once it has been damaged enough, they will enter it and you will fight them off until you reach the damage limit and then it's Stage Clear.

- For "Impregnable Flagship" I do not recommend splitting away from Kircheis; every time I did that, the enemies damaged Reinhard until the mission ended, but Muller didn't appear at all. In the default formation, the other ships will not block Reinhard as long as you keep him facing away from the enemies.

- For rank S imperial campaign mission 14 in the fleet assembly give Kempff the best possible ships; after the mission starts, as soon as possible replace Kempff with the other admiral in the Geiersberg. Send Kempff away to the right for a while; as much and as fast as you can, shoot the Geiersberg's cannon at the Iserlohn fortress for the rest of the mission (do not aim for the enemy fleets, you'll never hit them); doing that, after 2 shots, will split the 2 two enemy fleets, one above and one below the Geiersberg; then just go and destroy them with the fleet you sent away one by one. It will be very easy that way.

- For rank S alliance mission 9 send all 3 of your fleets to damage the Geiersberg; do not pay attention to the enemy fleet guarding it; when the Geiersberg starts charging its laser it is crucial to move your fleets away from the laser's line of fire; getting damaged too much will result in an A rank, no matter how fast you finish the mission; when you have the rockets available use them with all 3 of your fleets aiming at the Geiersberg, but not before the Geiersberg is about to charge its laser, or you won't have enough time to move away; when you can, also use Attenborough's special ability.

- The achievement "Kircheis' Survival" unlocks after the cutscene, which runs after you press OK/Next at the rank screen.

- The achievements for beating the campaigns unlock at the main menu after the end of them.

- The achievements "Fleet Admiral X" (Alliance) are obtainable starting with mission 5 in the Alliance campaign, when you can choose a Fleet Admiral.

- Before attempting Mission 18 Imperial campaign, make a backup of your save data located in: C:\Users\[username]\Documents\My Games\Ginei . If you fail to trigger the event, just quit the game, replace the new files with the backup and try again.

- For the 100000 kills, do it in skirmish matches on the second map from the top playing as the Galactic Empire; change the damage limit to 90000. For your side, fill in all the empty slots with your highest level characters (make sure every fleet admiral is capable of leading a wide spread formation); in the next screen click the little button in each of the four fleet sections in order to remove all ships from all of your fleets and then click the button in the bottom right corner to automatically fill in the ships, that way it will fill your fleets with the highest damage ships. For the enemy (Alliance) choose any 4 fleet admirals and leave the other slots empty; in the next screen don't change anything. Once the match starts bring fleet I to fleet III and fleet II to fleet IV and then bring them all together and attack the enemies in the middle of them. It is not necessary to use your formation attack or any special abilities, only send your fighters to attack them. You'll easily dominate the enemies. Each enemy fleet contains approximately 200 ships, so that's a maximum of ~800 kills every match. After every match the question that pops, asks you if you want to replay the match (yes on the left, no on the right); it's very useful to choose yes so you don't have to pick your admirals every match. On average a match will take you about 5-6 minutes, if you work efficiently with the my suggested setup; that means you can average about 9000 kills per hour, without taking any breaks. Getting the 100000 will take a lot of time even if you have finished both camapigns twice. Here's an example of a battle I uploaded (excuse the lag and other technical issues): [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AW2Bw_tfBM]Gineiden Skirmish Battle - YouTube[/ame]

-General tips for rank S:

*Always try, when possible to pick fleet admirals which are capable of using a wide spread formation, the one that is able to surround the enemy with its formation attack, use it as much as you can, but only if you think the enemy will not move away, or else you will get damaged quite badly;

*You can fire your rockets at the enemy fleets even if they are not in the red circles where the rockets explode, some rockets will hit them on their way;

*In the mission where one of your fleets starts in a planet/fortress, get it out, you will almost never hit any enemy fleets with the laser cannon, they will just dodge it; usually it is better to go for the damage limit, instead of trying to accomplish the main objective;

*Always try to not let the enemies enter planets, it gets very annoying when the only thing they do is enter/exit the planet over and over again and you don't have enough time to destroy its admiral; usually if a fleet enters a planet, wait outside and focus on other enemy fleets, the one inside the planet will come out after a while;

*When you have a fleet which is not able to surround the enemy, you can try ordering it to move behind the enemy facing the direction in which the enemy is moving; that way your fleets will get closer to the enemy trying to get to their destination; the point is that they do more damage the closer they are to the enemy fleet;

*Always send out your fighters to damage the enemy fleets.

Skipping the scenes should not matter but I honestly can't say. What I did was hold down the Return/Enter key which speeds up the dialogue by a lot.

I wouldn't advise failing to trigger the event in Mission 18 at all. As long as the event triggers as described in the guide, it should count but why take the risk?

Lapp doesn't command any ships. He's a staff member.

That entirely depends on which side you are.

Alliance. She has no special criteria to appear. It has given me no issue every time I've done it.
