Lt_Linguini
Playing on Normal first really helps so you can, well, figure out what all you need to do in the game. After beating Normal and spending quite a bit of time in the challenge missions, I pretty much blazed through Hard mode without much problem. pcgamer11
For the Hard diff., really is dependant on your hand-to-hand combat dodge skills. You have to realy time the countering moves more, it comes with practice..time in the challenges arenas help.
W. Samuel Jones III
I agree once you understand the combat basics use your gadgets and counter and hard will be a breeze.

kvorbach
I'm playing through it now and I'm finding it quite easy. Boss battles are pretty challenging though. Almost at Poison Ivy.
Killerchronic
Hmm thanks to those that gave there opinions. I started on hard for my first playthrough, but after dying twice in the first few battles i decided i need to learn the combat system. Shame, was hoping to get the full 1k in 1 playthrough as its a rental. Edited July 22, 2010 by Killerchronic typo
Dogsgowoof15
Hard mode doesn't tell you when a bad guy is about to hit you, and you die much easier. I have this game and I am struggling to complete hard mode.
Erinyes1103
Hard isn't too bad once you get good at freeflow combat. My advice is avoid ground takedowns if there are bad guys still standing, as they will hit you. Use the instant takedown move whenever possible and use the evade move as often as you can. Alpha Monarch
When i started playing Batman Arkham Asylum i started on Hard mode. It is quite easy but some parts (like the part when you are in the sewer and this lizard type is chasing you) its better if you look up youtube tutorials. Also the boss battles (like poison Iv) will take a few tries or many tries. Overall you just need to aquire those upgrades and combats.
Mikesahhh
I found the game on hard can be a little tricky at times but when you spend your upgrades on better armor and then the instant takedown at 5 combo points it gets a whole lot easier
kill o gramms
do you get to keep your gadgets if you went threw the game already
Dz06lt
I had no trouble on hard till i had to fight the 2 titans in the elevator shaft, that was the end of that run for me. havent picked it back up since
Beta thorgo
It is not that hard as long as you are careful and find all the riddler challenges to level up fast and get strong and all your special moves!
Beta thorgo
Also if you use stealth to your advantage it makes it really beatable!
wakesy1996
its very possible
Pigmartyr
If you get the combat down its easy. Just remember not to button mash and counter when you can. I went through the game just passed killer croc and still haven't upgraded health or combat styles. Just punch, counter, evade, repeat until everyone is out. Mightymango
do you get to keep your gadgets if you went threw the game already No, you do not on the other difficulty levels. Each difficulty requires a separate save game. Hard is NOT that hard to get through. There are a couple trickey parts with the dual mutants before the end battle. The stealth parts are a little harder as if you get spotted you are basically dead. Now, that being said I've played through 4 versions of the game so I may be a bit bias but hard is not that much tougher then normal.
TheShowstoppaHBK1990
I beated the game already on Normal, I'm playing it on Hard now, I would say I'm over halfway done with it, some difficult parts, like fighting Bane was very fusterating, It starts out pretty easy, but it will become a challenge much later in the game, I wish you good luck.
