Gizm0 The Great
Here is the FF world map. Haven't explored much so unsure which places count towards the globetrotter achievement but I'd hazard a guess the main areas that count are: Coneria Provoka Elf land Melmond Onrac Lefein Ryukahn desert Gaia Castle of ordeals Dwarf cave If anyone can confirm which areas count and which don't then comment below. Other than that I'd suggest heading to the areas above first. Then if the achievement still hasn't popped use the map to head to additional locations http://www.ffcompendium.com/h/faqs/ff1map.jpg
zszaiss
I definitely got the globetrotter achievement after visiting all those places, but I'm not sure if they're all necessary. Regardless - they are all places that you will more than likely visit as part of pursuing the story / stocking up on gear and spells, so I wouldn't worry about missing this one. FYI - if you press and hold on the mini-stats in the lower right corner of the overworld screen, you can pull up the world map at any time. (I didn't realize this until I read it somewhere, so I thought I'd share).
