Japanese, Arcade, Retail -- what are the differences?

Retail games are games that generally come on disc and have 1000G. Arcade games are just games that you can buy from the Xbox marketplace. Japanese games are games that have a stackable Japanese version and Japanese exclusive titles.

Just for clarification, retail also includes Games on Demand, since those are also available on XBL Marketplace.

People consider "retail" as games with 970g or more. "Arcade" is less than 970 (in most cases). And, Japanese games are...from Japan. Most sites and groups use the North American version groups as the "basic" one and if there are any that vary from that one in another region, it gets it's own designation. There are German games, PAL games, Korean games, Asian games, etc.

Personally, I've been pulling away from distinguishing between "Arcade" and "Retail". Like my collection in my sig', I divide games by Xbox 360, Windows Phone, Windows 8, Games for Windows - LIVE, iOS, and Web. =D
