Everyone make one bold prediction for the season. My prediction:

The Dodgers aren't as good as people think they are and don't make the playoffs. Don Mattingly gets fired.

Twins will finally lose 100 games this season. No more of this 90+ lose seasons, they will finally hit triple digits.

I thought you would like that. It's a bold prediction, I put it's chances at 15%. Though I do honestly think we've seen the best out of Puig. All the talent in the world isn't good enough if you don't have the drive to be excellent (cough, JD Drew, cough).

Likely it will be any two of these three teams in the NLCS: Dodgers, Nats, Cards. I could see the Braves sneaking in. The other NL Central teams got weaker and I always have questions about the Giants and DBags (not a typo).

If I had to predict the NL right now I'd go NL West: Dodgers, NL Central: Cards, NL East: Nats. WCs: Braves and Giants.

First pitch about to come for the Cardinals. I'm a little pissed that the NL champs don't start at home but it's kind of a rainy day here so it works out.

Edit: Ewww. I don't like the new FoxSportsMW info box graphic (the score, outs, count etc...). Maybe I'm just not used to it being at the bottom left.

Don't complain too much... my team didn't even open the season on their home friggin' continent!

Yeah, I'm glad they've never stuck the Cardinals with one of those. One of the benefits of being in the Heartland. Despite the tradition and giant continental fan base there isn't much of an international fan base.

I watched some of that Dodgers game last night...Brian Wilson meltdown FTL. Puig would have had a jack if that was almost any other ballpark. I like that Padres ballpark, I like pitchers' parks.

Gonzalez would've had a homer too in a bunch of other parks.

Wilson looked pretty bad, but whatever, things like that happen with every reliever. Sports fans are sometimes just the worst, though. Reading things today like "OMG FIRE BRIAN WILSON HE STINKS," totally forgetting how stellar he was last year and that it's only one goddamn inning in the third game of the season.

Sigh...so many fans nowadays...Wilson will be fine. He gave up more runs last night then the last two seasons combined. Granted that was only like 16 innings because of injury but...the guy is a beast. Between the starters and Wilson in the 8th and Jansen in the 9th...it's going to be tough to score on the Dodgers.

Edit: 5th inning and the Cardinals' only hits are both from Matt Adams beating the crazy shift. He keeps this up and teams will start playing him straight. Pretty good pitchers duel so far.

Double Edit: Michael Wacha bobble head night in April! I'm usually night a collectible guy...But...MUST HAVE!!

I'm not confident that the Card's home opener gets played today. Mother Nature isn't "playing ball".

Red Sox are off to a bit of a rocky start this season. Hopefully it picks up.

Yankees played a double-header today. Shut out the Cubs each time.

That's like beating up the kid with palsy twice in a day. Definitely something to be proud of...

Matt Holiday taking away a home run...you don't see that often (read ever).

Maybe that will be the spark to get the defense going on this team.

Man, what the hell happened, Boston? I think Ellsbury leaving for the Yanks has royally screwed them. (Okay, maybe I'm biased because Ellsbury is my favorite current player).

You see the applause Tony Gwynn Jr. got at the Phillies home game last night? Remarkable.

It's kind of funny that, by the standards of everyone around town, they Cardinals have vastly underperformed (and have been decimated by injuries) yet are now tied with the Brewers for the Central lead. And are one win behind the Dodgers for most in the NL.

What a load of crap. I know their stats are close, but one guy's are better... and ANY other manager in the NL would've picked Kershaw as the starter. Reminds me of being in little league-- someone's dad is coach, and picks their kid over someone more deserving.

Even as a Cardinals fan I have to agree with you.

I wouldn't want to face either Waino or Kershaw right now...but I feel like I'd be more likely to have success against Waino.

Which means Kershaw should be the choice to start.

Plus...when the stats are close...go with the guy that threw a No-No recently...just seems obvious.

In Matheny's defense...maybe it has something to do with when their last/next starts are?

A team whose biggest problem is that they can't hit their way out of a paper bag acquired Masterson and Lackey at the deadline. Go figure.

I think you got damaged goods from the Cardinals. Craig's drop off has been so abrupt there has to be something physical. And I doubt the Cardinals would have traded Kelly unless they were worried about how he is bouncing back from his stint on the DL earlier this season.
