mattesty
It depends on the game, and if I'm talking to people.
jt89
sometimes depends on what game i'm playing
Poida
If its a game like Diablo, Torchlight or any game like that I have music going. If the dialogue and cutscenes require attention than no.
snipeforsnacks
I only listen to music when i'm grinding for achievements in games... if it's just causal playing then no :].
MaliceXR3
Depends on my mood at the time as to whether I have music on, 99.9 percent of the time I've got talkSPORT on in the background (I'm more of a radio than a TV person)
SolitudeLunatic
Does the radio stations on GTA count?
Andre16182
Sometimes I do listen to music when gaming, other times I don't. If I do listen to music when gaming, I usually listen to the music from off of my iPod while using a set of headphones.
WindWaker910
Yeah, if I'm playing multi or a game that I don't care about listening to. I'll pause it for cutscenes and stuff though.
PaulMD
usually only for multiplayer. Like to enjoy the single player score.
staindsoul413
Almost always unless I'm playing a game that already has decent music IE: Fallout 3 Edited January 8, 2014 by staindsoul413
ChubbyChappers
I used to back in the SNES/Mega Drive/PS1 days but it's not something I tend to do now. Nothing worse than playing on Xbox Live and some annoying kid having the Crazy Frog blaring down the mic!
Killerchronic
I always have music on playing games. I always put subs on aswell anyway, i hate missing any storyline. Not all games do it aswell but i often play music through my xbox from my NAS and i love games that pause music in the cutscenes, i like to have something to listen to but i dislike missing anything. I don't have voice chat on and don't use a mic unless im with friends (rare i play with them cause i play so many games and they stick to just one.) so i'm not the super annoying person blaring some music in your ears
MetalShadow13
So far only playing racing games and Minecraft as I cant concentrate in other games
Dirty130
A lot of games I turn the music off. Especially racing games. There are plenty of exceptions of course. RPGs mainly. Dust is a good, recent example that comes to mind.
Braiiins
I like having the full experience when playing the single player story/campaign of a game so I just have the game audio on for that. If I'm playing a multiplayer game without any friends, I don't wear a mic and I tend to have my stereo on.
Smoochy
I've recently started listening to music while playing shooters. I don't have the astros or turtle beaches to listen for every footstep or anything like that, I'm a more casual gamer, so I just kick back and listen to music. Mainly listen to hip hop, but I'll occasionally throw on some Dave Matthews Band or something to that effect.
Lin Chrone X
I tend to not listen to music while I'm playing unless it's a racing game. During anything else it's just distracting.
Rose Knight789
I play music in between matches if playing online or if doing something tedious or boring in a game. Most of the time I don't listen to music though on x1 at least since sound comes thru the tv and earbud sound is too loud for that. I rly want my beaches on x1. trach555
Not really, sometimes even I turn down the music in game when playing...
Richkan
during the second playtrough of campaigns there is music allowed. for everything else like multiplayer or new story of the game the media player stays closed
onebadwarrior
Games like shooters where you need awareness I can't listen to music. But if I don't need awareness, just concentration, I love to have music playing. Im the same way. I cant really focus as much as I want to in shooters with music playing. But with anything else, I always have some music playing. I usually turn off the in-game music too, so it doesn't play over my own.
Jet1337
I only listen to music when I play MMO's or games that don't have a lot of voice acting.
Aversion
It really all depends on the game. If I need to 'sound-whore' I won't listen to music.
TubularViper
I only listen to music if I'm playing multiplayer or if I'm grinding for an achievement.
PiixL
Rarely, I only listen to it when I have friends over while playing FIFA but only while I play FIFA. Otherwise I have a Youtube video playing in the background for any other game.
