Mosizzle313
someone was talking to me yesterday about the gunslinger. he highly recommended it to me so I might read it. Sorry I don't really have any valid input to your thread haha
Jemocasa
I really enjoyed the first 3 books and was fairly disappointed with Wizard and Glass. Wolves of the Calla was good again, but Song of Susannah was boring. Mostly I enjoyed the series and even liked the fact that he brought other characters into the series. I really hated it when he[spoiler=jem8]put himself in the books.
Exhausted Dad
That was 1st series of books I read and loved it. I don't read a lot of Stephen King anymore but Ii have probably read 20 that I really enjoyed, The Stand being my favorite and definitely most epic.. Lately I have been loving some Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child they have did a long series of books that started with The Relic. Bentley Little and Clive Barker are 2 of my other favs.
Snowman
I've read the last few Dark Tower comics which brought me to read the "American Vampire" series that he was, I guess, a part of. It was actually pretty good and had a nice preview to a new series "Area 10" that I'm pretty excited to read also.
rvlution
I'll probably eventually read them. I have a list of King books I wanna read first though.
LadyConstantine
I've read the whole series and really enjoyed it. I was never a very big Stephen King fan, having only read a portion of Nightmares and Dreamscapes as well as the Green Mile. This series is what got me interested in reading other King stuff. I finally read the Stand and thought that was as wicked if not better than the DT series.
eynotie
I really liked the Dark Tower series. It's not perfect, but overall, a must read if you like urban/dark fantasy (although, it's got western and sci-fi elements, too). On a side note, you can see quite a difference in the writing style from one book to the next with the first four. This series took a majority of King's career to write. I've talked to several people who weren't that impressed with the first book and did not continue on. If you do decide to read the series, don't make any final decisions on how much you like it until book 2 or 3.
ICreepAround
I've read the first three books and they're pretty damn good. Will be starting the fourth shortly but loving the series so far.
FlipsiderNick
I loved the series I felt in the end he kind of rushed the ending(not going to spoil) but it was still a very good read and a weird kind of twisting story that definitely keeps you entertained. rvlution
I bought the first one today. I'll start reading it soon. My reading list is pretty big.
thewyseone
first one introduces you to some of rolands,(aka the gunsling) history.books 2 and 3 are great but you need to read first one as its real importantant.book 4 is somewhat boring and the rest are also great. i wish they could do a tv series of this book, but way too much would have to be sacrificed to make it work on tv. rvlution
I'm only like 10 chapters in but it's pretty good so far.
PHIL 421
Read the entire series a couple of times. The end was sort of dumb but not entirely unexpected.
Vikus24
Read the first book and wasn't too impressed. =( Personally think SK is overrated but he does have great ideas.
TheDeceiver35
Have read the whole series myself and really enjoyed it. One of the best sets of books Ive read in a while. Am now trying to make my way through all 12 of the wheel of time series, man that is going to take a few months lol.

ace2ey
I've read the whole series, spaced it out over the last year or so. But I knew from the time I read the first line i had to own the whole series. King's best work
WolfsBane VII
Read up to Wolves of the Calla and sort of slowed down, will finish reading them eventually. Has similarities to lord of the rings.. would love for it to become a movie as i'm sure a lot of people aint even heard of it.
Kristoast
I've read the first four, and I loved them all. After that though I just got caught up doing a bunch of stuff and haven't been able to pick up where I left off. I really liked the 4th one a lot though. Io Haze oI
Currently reading through the series for a second times and I'm on 'Song of Susannah' I can easily say my favourite of the books is Wizard and Glass, I only wanted to read one chapter before I went to sleep and ended up nearly always reading for an hour or so more. I was never keen on Wolves of the Calla after reading it the first time, but now that I'm a couple of years older I found it easier to understand so enjoyed it a bit more. rvlution
Finished the Gunslinger and I am CONFUSED. I read the Afterword by King and according to that I'm not really suppose to understand or know it all yet. Am I right?
Tizlor
... What is the worst way to finish a book series? Don't know? Read the Dark Tower.
rvlution
I'm not sure if I'm gonna continue this series. I found the first alright but I have no initiative to go buy the second. I have too much on to read list anyway.
