Dude, come on. He's just asking for help. No need to be an ass.

Try asking around the ship about the android. It's all about asking the right people. I believe the option comes up so that you can lie about it and then finish the quest.

On the ship, exit the marketplace during the day and a woman will talk to you. She gives you a unique part from the android and tells you to show it to the dude in the science lab and tell him the android is destroyed (lie). The chieve will unlock.

Well its a pretty big spoiler so didn't want to give it away =P

You have to get four holotopes IIRC.

One from a doctor (either like in Megaton or Rivet City), one from a merchant (easy to get from Brown in Megaton), there is one you get in Paradise Falls from Eulogy Jone's place...

I'll try and look it up later in the questbook but its downstairs.

Also make sure you do the optional quest and talk to Perkins or whatever in the front of the ship, its well worth it and you get good loot on the way.

SPOILER

At the end of the mission you have a few choices. Tell the android you will keep his secret and he will give you his rifle. Tell the creator and he gives you a sweat perk that adds like 10% to your VATS accuracy. The first is good karma the second is bad. I opted to tell him and get the rifle, and then tell the creator and get the perk- I still got negetive Karma but I blew the creator away right after he gave me the perk to loot him and hopefull keep the android alive. I assume this doesn't save you from getting poor karma but whatever, its what I did.

Note: You cannot just kill the creator and loot the perk deal, he has to give it to you.

This method leaves out some of the sweet rewards though. Additionally this individual is NOT location specific, rather it is based on your progress in the quest. At some point in the quest she will show up automatically regardless. I suggest completing the quest in its entirety to recieve all the rewards and loot you get along the way.

Details about the quest, no story-line spoilers until the obvious warning. Information taken from memory and the Prima Guide.

1. Uncover a holotape to begin the quest

2. Visit Rivet City to learn more

3. Locate Dr. Zimmer in Rivet City's Science Lab and speak to him

4. Find more clues- these holotapes are normally in the individuals quarters somewhere, I'm not sure any of mine were given by the NPC
a. Medical Holotape (need one)
-Preston in Rivet City
-Church in Megaton
-Banfield in Tenpenny
-Barrows in Underworld
-Lucy in Little Lamplight
-Cutter in Paradise Falls
-Red in Big Town
b. Technological Holotape (need one)
-Seagrave Holmes in Rivet City
-Moira Brown in Megaton
-Winthrop in Underworld
-Scribe Bowditch in Citadel
-Knick Knack in Little Lamplight
c. Sympathizer Holotape (need one)
-Father Clifford in Rivet City
-Manya in Megaton
-Herbert Dashwood in Tenpenny Tower
-Tulip in Underworld Outfitters
d. Slaver Holotape (need one)
-Grouse in Paradise Falls
-Eulogy Jones in Paradise Falls
-Sister in Paradise falls or Rivet City

5. [Optional] Talk to Doctor Preston

6. Visit by Victoria Watts (gives you ability to lie to Zimmer and +Karma if you accept <- note you can accept and NOT lie to Zimmer).

7. [Optional] Talk to Pinkerton <- Highly recommended, good loot on the route and you have to go there later (you can unlock a door from inside to get there easily in the future) and he has lots of good information

8. Confront Zimmer or THE ANDROID

Your options and my recomendation provided, but includes spoilers, click below.

Spoiler! (click here to reveal)

Hope that helps, happy hunting.

Man, I should really look into getting the guide. After that lady confronting me about the missing android I just went ahead and told Zimmer that he was dead. I'll probably play out this quest more next time around.

That's Victoria Watts, and let me tell you something: she REALLY comes after you. I was on my way to see Pinkerton and I didn't have my lockpicking skills up to 100 yet. I jumped in the water to go to the underwater entrance of the ship. I ended up dying when fighting the mirelurkes, and when I respawned underwater, SHE WAS RIGHT THERE.

Could anyone possibly tell me where Pinkerton actually is? I have 2 out of the 3 holotapes and despite searching i have no idea where he could be.

The Pinkerton guy is in the broken off bow of the ship. You can walk across the platforms over to the door, but I'm pretty sure you need to have a lockpick skill of 100 to open it. I never actually talked to him. The lady came up to me and asked me to lie to Zimmer, so I did and never went through the step of talking to Pinkerton.
