Live Trials, Bonus Codes, Pre-Order Codes, Demo Codes, etc...

Either keep them for yourself or give them to a friend. Do not offer them on the site, especially if you are asking for something in return. On the other side, don't request any of these things either. Posts made by either party (offering/asking) will be deleted and the person will receive an infraction.

"Do not offer them on the site." Pretty clear to me. While I appreciate your future generosity as I wouldn't mind some free codes, don't post them on these forums. Wouldn't want you getting an infraction or anything.

The word "especially" is defined thus:

Quote:
ľadverb
particularly; exceptionally; markedly:
It means that you can't trade codes, but your punishment will be even harsher if you trade codes for something in return. No need to spam up an announcement thread Pheonix.

Wow... lol. Got repeated three times.

Anyway, glad something about this came out. There was a guy giving away Dead Space codes in the forums and a mod said it wasn't really a problem.

By the way... I have these two codes to give out......

*Issues infraction to Skillet*

Wait what?!

I agree, especially with the COD:WaW beta codes everyone was 'selling' and 'giving away'.

After reading the first post to this thread...why would you even suggest such a thing? Meh, that thread would be a disaster zone with people claiming they got ripped off and try to ask the site for their MS points back or a redeeming code. It's kind of like why this site doesn't have a place to trade/sell games. Your just asking for trouble.

I'm sorry but I am brand new to the site and I don't understand why it is a problem if someone wants to give away a code for free. Isn't this site all about helping each other out?

I think it's just to save the hassle of people complaining to Admins about bad codes or harassment for something in return. It's a headache saver.

Correct. If someone says they'll give you a code and then the code doesn't work you may feel like getting the management involved. If we don't allow it, we don't have to deal with it.

Any of you guys interested in some 2 day or Uno codes? *opens up coat*

Naw naw but in all seriousness, this rule has been a long time coming. Glad it's set in stone now, instead of just being a general no-no.

I just wanted to give away some coupons for play-asia. Then I saw this thread.

Looks like I have to throw them away now. Great.

Because there's no other way for you to give them to friends?

We're not saying you can't do it anywhere on the internet or through messages over Live. Just don't offer them on the forums.

I would also like to add, it's the same for trading games with another member. We will not be responsible if a transaction goes bad. Just like how you cannot offer/ask for free codes on the forums. If you decide to trade games with other members of the site, that's your decision. Whether your form of communication is through PM's or over Xbox Live, x360a will NOT be held responsible.

Please don't even try to advertise trading games or offering/asking for free codes in your signature. Not only will we remove it from your sig, but we'll issue you an Infraction for Breaching Forum Rules.

Cheers for posting this. I'm now clear with the rules about it because I always get loads of 24 hour codes and was going to offer them to the peeps on this site for free. Glad I read this first. Will dish them out to my friends instead because quite a few of them got xbox's for christmas and only have a silver account.

I agree with this, but I find it ridiculous anyone would go to a mod or admin and baww "this guy posted a code, and it's no good". Seriously. This is against the rules on GameFAQs too, but people still do it, and the codes are gone within 30 seconds or so
