Achievement Guide

Vanquish The Computer - 20
Description: "Beat the Arcade Mode."

This achievement can be earned on any difficulty level. All you have to do is beat the entire single player arcade mode (All the world warriors plus the bosses.) This can be earned on Classic mode or HD Remix mode. When I got it, I used Ryu because you can earn the "Sagat's Scar" achievement at the same time. (See "Sagat's Scar") Really, this achievement just takes patience. On the easy difficulty setting the CPU is fairly lenient and forgiving and you have unlimited continues. Keep at it. You must defeat Sheng Long to stand a chance.

Sheng Long is in Another Castle - 25
Description: "Beat Akuma in Arcade Mode."

In order to challenge Akuma in Arcade mode, you must fulfill these requirements:
Taken from "StiltMan" from Shoryuken.com
"1. You must defeat the first eleven opponents without continuing.

and either...

2a. You must defeat the eleven within a certain number of ticks on the clock.

or

2b. You must accumulate 1,200,000 points in defeating the first eleven opponents. (This is a method available in classic mode, not HD Remix mode.)

Perfects aren't relevant, but are commonly perceived to be because they're accidentally helpful by usually being very quick, which helps your time.

Lost rounds also aren't relevant, but are also commonly perceived to be because the more rounds you lose, the slower you'll beat the first eleven opponents."

Protip from "Regor TTenneb:"

"Set the game to 1 round arcade mode matches. Just don't use a continue and you will fight Akuma."

(This method does not always work. 9/10 people have success with it.)

If these requirements are completed, Akuma will show up and defeat Bison right before your very eyes. "Prepare to Feel a Million Deaths in an instant!"

First and foremost: I used M. Bison to get to Akuma. On the easy difficulty of arcade mode, you can use Bison's "Psycho Crusher" over and over again and you WILL win. I also got 5 perfects using this method. (See "Training for Perfection.")

To perform Psycho Crusher, Hold the opposite direction of your opponent for about two seconds. Then press the direction TOWARDS your opponent, and press any Punch. The move basically encases your entire body in a blue flame and Bison flies like a torpedo towards his opponent.

After I reached Akuma: He soundly defeated my Bison. Luckily, you CAN continue against him AND switch characters! I switched to Cammy. Her "spinning Backfist" is invincible when she does the initial hop towards her opponent. It goes through Akuma's fireballs. Wait for him to throw fireballs, then spinning backfist through them.

To perform the "Spinning Backfist," press "QUARTER CIRCLE BACK and ANY PUNCH."

Be patient. Arcade mode Akuma is tough. You have unlimited continues. Fight to the best of your ability. Good Luck.

"Here Comes a New Challenger!" - 10
Play 5 ranked matches online.

To earn this, go to "Multiplayer" then choose the "ranked matches," option. Select "quick match." Play all 3-5 rounds. (Try to win!)

After the match is over, repeat these steps four more times and this achievement is yours. An easy 10g

"SF 20th Anniversary!" - 20
Win 20 Ranked Matches Online

Please see the "Playing to Win Achievement," as they are similar.

"Playing to Win" - 30
Win 100 Ranked Matches Online

Alright, this is the most time consuming of all the achievements. The tutorial for starting a ranked match is listed in the "Here Comes a New Challenger" Achievement.

Basically, you just need to win, 100 times.

I recommend using Balrog because he is very well rounded as a character. Pick a character you are comfortable with, spend some time in training mode learning how to perform combos, execute special moves, and learn proper distancing and timing.

You need to be knowledgeable about your character and his/her matchups if you want to win. Also, alot of players on Xbox Live play as Ryu, Ken, Blanka, or Guile. That means if you pick a character that can deal with Ken or Ryu, you have about a decent chance of playing someone you can handle.

Everything I have learned about Street Fighter 2 has come from Shoryuken.com and its excellent Wikipedia page.

http://www.shoryuken.com/wiki/index....ighter_2_Turbo

Also, try their forums as well. They are very passionate about the game and anything not covered in this guide will be covered by them. They are the best.

Keep practicing and keep trying. Even if you lose 5,000 matches before you win 100, you'll still have 100 wins, and therefore an achievement.

The "SF 20th Anniversary" achievement will be earned while earning this one.

"Master of All Things" - 30
Win With Every Character in an Online Ranked Match.

You simply need to play ranked matches online and win a whole match (3 rounds) with every character on the roster. This includes Akuma. Keep a checklist of all the characters you have won a match with. As you win, make note of who you used so you don't repeat victories as a character. This is the fastest possible method of earning this achievement.

To fight as Akuma online: Go to the middle of the top row while selecting your character highlight either of the middle two characters and press up.
(From the starting point, Ryu, just press right, then up.) Akuma's portrait should be displayed. The portrait looks like the silhouette of a dark, ominous figure.

"Training for Perfection" - 10
5 Perfect Rounds in Arcade Mode (Any Difficulty Level, no challengers)

To earn this achievement, you must win five rounds in arcade mode without taking a SINGLE PIXEL of damage. That means if you get hit by a special move and take "chip damage," your perfect is ruined.

I earned this achievement using the M.Bison "Psycho Crusher" method mentioned earlier in the section "Sheng Long is in Another Castle." I was playing on easy difficulty of HD REMIX mode.

Be careful though. I found that once my opponent was one Psycho Crusher away from death, they would finally counter the move. I remedied this by using a normal attack instead of a finishing Psycho Crusher. This will not work every time, but it should work enough to get you the achievement.

Take note: I played on easy on HD REMIX mode. The difficulty is toned WAY down in comparison to "Classic Mode." Good Luck. This may take a few tries, but it's not too hard. You will probably earn this and the "Sheng Long is in Another Castle" achievement in the same play-through.

"Psymunn" says:
"Select 5 round (arcade) mode, and either E. Honda or a character with fireballs. when you get to Zangief you should be able to perfect him twice. Then let him kill you, continue, and perfect him 3 more times." Thanks Psymunn!

Also know that all 5 perfects must be earned in one session. The perfects do not have to be consecutive perfect victories, just be sure to win with 5 perfects before you defeat the final boss.

"Throwing is Cheap" - 5
Throw your opponent Ten Times in a single game.

A single game lasts up to three rounds. To earn this easily, I turned on a second control and went to "Multiplayer> Local Match > HD Remix." I picked Ryu and Player 2 was Zangief. I walked up to player two and performed Ryu's throw (Hold towards/away and press Fierce Punch. should be the default for Fierce Punch.)

Keep throwing Zangief until he dies. Repeat this the second round. After the second round is over, you should have this achievement. You can try letting Zangief win the second round if you want to get extra throws during the third round, but I was able to get it during round two.

"Super Finisher" - 10
Get one Super Finish.

I did this in arcade mode, it can be done in a local multiplayer match.

A super finish is when you use your character's specific "super move" to win a round. When you get the super finish, the whole background flashes madly in multiple colors.

In order to use a super move, you must first fill your super meter. Do this by performing special attacks or by hitting your opponent. The super meter's capacity can be tracked at the bottom corners of the screen. It is the only gauge visible on the bottom of the screen.

Once your super meter is full, it flashes colors and you can read the word "Super" on it. Now you can perform your super move. To see how to perform your character's super move, pause the game and go to "Character Move List." At the very bottom of the list, in the right hand column, you should see the motion required to perform your character's super. Defeat your opponent with this move.

Even if your foe dies while blocking you will get this one.

Super moves list from forum user "Hayden:"

,+,,,+, Any punch - Ken, Ryu, Sagat, Fei Long

Hold for 2 seconds then , , Any punch - E Honda, Blanka, Balrog

Hold for 2 seconds then , , Any kick - Chun Li, Cammy, Dee Jay, M Bison

Hold + for 2 seconds then +,+ , + Any kick - Guile, Vega

,+,,+,,,+,,+, Any punch - Dhalsim

Rotate the D pad/Stick 2 full circles, Any punch - Zangief, T Hawk

Jab, Jab, , Low Kick, Fierce Punch. - Akuma

"Blinding Speed" - 15
Defeat your opponent in 15 seconds or less.

Easy Difficulty of HD remix mode is where I earned this achievement.

Try not to knockdown your opponent very much as they are invincible while on their backs. On the easy difficulty, the CPU RARELY blocks so just walk up and use some powerful attacks to defeat them.

"Combomaniac" - 15
Perform a combo of 7 hits or more.

Training mode was my friend for learning a 7 hit combo. You CAN NOT earn this achievement in training though, you can either do it in arcade mode, or the MUCH friendlier "Local Match" multiplayer.

I used Chun-Li in classic mode to get this baby.

I performed the following combo against Zangief to get the achievement.

THIS MUST BE DONE IN CLASSIC MODE!!!
1. Fill your meter.
2. Use your super. Hold for 2 seconds then , , Any kick (6/7 hits.)
3. Follow the super with Chun-Li's Upkicks. (8/7 hits.)

To perform the Upkicks, hold down for about two seconds, then press Up and any kick button. Make sure you charge the down direction while she is performing her super move.
Practice, Practice, Practice. You need to LEARN good execution, you can't just use it. Chun's timing is very lenient though.

You should do it in classic mode, Local multiplayer. Either should work.

"Sagat's Scar" - 10
Defeat Sagat with Ryu's Fierce Shoryuken.

I earned this achievement in arcade mode, easy difficulty, HD Remix mode.
You simply need to fight until you reach Sagat, then win the round by using Ryu's Fierce Shoryuken.

To perform this move, you need to input:
Ryu's shoryuken also know as the dragon punch is performed by pressing
,,+,

Once again, from "Hayden:"
Set up a 2 player local match with Ryu and Sagat, hit Sagat until he is nearly dead and then perform the fierce shoryuken.

Once Sagat goes down, you will get the achievement.

I was just writing my own guide In the staff board but yours as more descriptive for most of the achievements, you may wanna use these:- (you don't have to )

I have also stuck it for you.

Sagat's Scar - 10
Defeated Sagat with Ryu's fierce shoryuken.

Ryu's shoryuken also know as the dragon punch is performed by pressing
,,+,

Set up a 2 player local match with Ryu and Sagat, hit Sagat until he is nearly dead and then perform the shoruken.

Super Finisher - 10
Got one Super Finish in Arcade Mode.

To perform a super finisher you must first fill your super meter in the bottom left corner, this is filled by damaging your opponent and performing special moves.

When the bar is full and flashing super input the following commands.

,+,,,+, Any punch - Ken, Ryu, Sagat, Fei Long

Hold for 2 seconds then , , Any punch - E Honda, Blanka, Balrog

Hold for 2 seconds then , , Any kick - Chun Li, Cammy, Dee Jay, M Bison

Hold + for 2 seconds then +,+ , + Any kick - Guile, Vega

,+,,+,,,+,,+, Any punch - Dhalsim

Rotate the D pad/Stick 2 full circles, Any punch - Zangief, T Hawk

Picture for 100 wins.

also you don't need perfects to unlock akuma.
another "training for perfection" strategy is select 5 round mode, and either honda or a character with fireballs. when you get to zangief you should be able to perfect him twice. then let him kill you, continue, and perfect him 3 more times.

Excellent. I'll use this one too.

edit: Thanks for the help guys. I haven't submitted my new draft yet, so feel free to correct/criticize some more. The extra notation and the Akuma corrections were great.

The part I dont get with chun li going for the 7 combo achievement is I can store the super up (somewhat) but whenever i jump to do the punch, she seems to lose it.so she ends up jump punch then standing kick.Im using the stick and just sliding it up from towards just enough to make her jump and then im back down.

I had the same problem at first. You'll find that even though you THINK you aren't letting go of diagonal up/toward, you actually are inadvertently. I guarantee that you can jump in with Chun and keep your stored super. Keep at it!

edit: should I submit this guide?

Thanks so much for the tip about beating Akuma with Cammy. It took me 2 hours to beat him (easy and 1 round). I've never been this pissed over a game since trying to beat Mile High on veteran. I was trying so hard not to break my controller but broke everything around me instead. Thank god I won't have to go through that again.

100 ranked wins. Ranked is online, remix mode only.

mike: I'm glad my Cammy tip helped. I had the same trouble as you did, but it was set to TWO rounds. Ugh. Luckily I got through it fairly fast.

4. Use the super (just press any kick button, if stored correctly.) (about 6/7 hits)
5. Follow the super with Chun-Li's Upkicks. (7/7 hits.)
To perform the Upkicks, hold down for about two seconds, then press Up and any kick button. Make sure you charge the down direction while she is performing her super move.

Variations of this combo exist. Practice, Practice, Practice. You need to LEARN good execution, you can't just use it. I used Chun because her timing is very lenient.
2 questions:

1) How are you managing to do things like this with the clown of an Xbox360 pad? I'm lucky if I can do a dragon punch without jumping. It's like trying to do eye surgery with thick woolen gloves on.

2) On the rare occasions the inputs actually work, I can store the super, do the jump in hard punch, and then the super, but then no matter what I do once the super has finished Sagat falls down - 6 hits. How exactly am I mean't to do the upkicks? Even if I start charging the nano second the super starts, and press up+kick the nano second it finishes, Sagat just falls down.

I've come to the conclusion it's just not worth bothering to play any Street Fighter games with the standard 360 pad. Everything is 20 times harder than it should be. No fun, all frustration.

Don't give up yet!

1.) First of all, I will admit, I did these all with an EX2 stick. It is not impossible to play with the analog stick. The D-pad is garbage. The analog stick works quite well though. Practice execution in training first and try, try again.

If that doesn't work, the balrog combo I listed should be fairly simple and possible to do.

2.) Check your distance from the walls. If Sagat touches the wall, he will fall faster, makin git completely IMPOSSIBLE to combo with the upkicks. Otherwise, just remember that Super Turbo has some really strange code. You will never get the same results every time. Sometimes it will combo sometimes it won't. As I said earlier, give the Balrog combo a shot. You have options.

Dont be silly, like I said take info from mine so at least people only have to go into the one thread for ALL the info they need! Ill post in here also any new findings I get.
Trying to figure if someone disconnects from u if the count is added toward 100wins. I think it may be. Cos I had 3 or 4 people quit on me, but the achievement unlocked as soon as I hit 100wins.
Also trying to find a real easy 7 hit combo is tricky!!!

I have officially given up trying to get Combomaniac and Sheng Long is in Another Castle Achivements until Feb 17th. When I buy SF4 and the FightPad I'll get them because I just can't get the 360 controller to perform correctly, D-Pad nor Thumbstick. In my opinion, this is the worst controller for *fighting games* I have ever played with.

Pffft, I came up with that tip for Training For Perfection...you gave credit to some random

Other than that I enjoy this guide, Only need one more single player achievement to have all those done (you all know which one) and then KWAPOW!

I also see Akuma's super finisher wasn't posted. It's actually quite easy.

LP, LP, Forward, LK, HP

Made alot easier if Y is changed to HP and B to HK

Beat me to it. I also think this one's extremely easy to pull off and excellent online since it's unblockable (unless someone like Ryu is doing his shippu kick, then it doesn't work for some reason and you get kicked in the face ).

I also say for doing Chun Li's 7hit combo (I got up to 8).
In local multiplayer, use kouken and fast kicks to store up your super meter (try to hit SUPER before 50second mark) while being far away from the other player. This allows the super meter to fill without draining the other's HP because the super takes quite a chunk of HP.

Next, push the character to left (or right, whatever makes you feel more comfortable) and just before (s)he hits the edge, jump over to have both characters face-to-face.

Start going back for 2-3 seconds (take your time, the other won't attack you), then do the super (it should be easy to pull off, its just back forward back forward kick, no complaining about analog or D-pad!). While doing the super, already start holding down your "down" button and when you just finished the super, up+kick!

Just hope the 2second was long enough (it should be) and see that glorious "Combomaniac unlocked - 15G" pop up, along with "8 hit super combo".

Dunno if this is more specific on how to get the combomaniac, but I can assure it works like a charm since I did this one twice in a row.

Also for the "Training for perfection" achievement, maybe it's possible to specify that even if you're hit, it's visible if you still are doing perfect or not? (Getting hit by a normal punch while blocking doesn't deplete your health)
One thing I find annoying is that the commentator doesn't say "perfect" when doing one in Arcade, but he does say it in every other mode.

This "Sheng Long is in Another Castle" is ridiculous. I tried what you said, but even on easy, I can't get it to work. I can get past 5 or so fights, but then they either keep blocking and then throwing me, or I run into Ryu who just spams his Hadoken. What do you think I'm doing wrong? =/

Well, being able to beat Ryu's hadouken is fairly straight forward. Depending on your character (I'm assuming Bison) just keep out of the range of his attacks and wait for a hadouken. Once he throws it, jump over it and punish him. Then back off and repeat. I found that the CPU can't react to a psycho crusher if you start the round with one though, so I would just keep using psycho crusher as he stands up. He'll either be forced to block or take the hit.

Great guide the chun li combo is hard for me, but I found this one out that is easy.

1. Choose Dee Jay as your character.
2. Press start with the second controller and choose Zangief
3. Jump over and use the F kick,(Hold)down, jab, jab, jab, and then do the up kick by pressing up + F kick

man... i can not beat akuma at all. from what i gather, his difficulty is always the same.
either way, that upper cut and red fireball are just so damaging.

Did you do...
1) One round matches, since it needs a serious bit of luck to win against Akuma.
2) Try out to spam Cammy's mid punch move which passes his fireballs?
3) Another useful move is low spinning rocket, sometimes it hits but it adds up alot to super bar (which relies on luck to hit him with)

Dunno, might help? It's what the guide states but get back to us if you finally beat him .

Anyone else having problems with online matches not counting.

I'm just searching for a quick match, if one isn't found I select the create option and wait. Most times the quick match works. I fight the best of five round match win then rinse and repeat. I've easily won over 20 matches and no achievement for that or for the play five matches. I also notice my record stays at 0 W 0 L.

Of course I'm selecting ranked, and when no match is found I'm selecting classic. Anyone else having issues?

Ohhh and Hayden.... err I mean Vincent... M. Bison wants to talk with you for a minute.

Your W - L appears as 0 W - 0 L only during the pre game. If they showed your W-L ratio, more people would quit as soon as the match started in order to avoid playing someone really good or bad.

You can check your stats in the leaderboards.

Select ranked, then if you create a match, make it remix, as that's what people are playing. OR just go in and out of quick match. Don't set up your own lobby. That's what I do.
