-Minimum number of playthroughs needed? 1

NOTE: To activate The Pitt DLC, just load up a previous save and wait about one minute or so.

Welcome to The Pitt! The second of three downloadable content episodes for Fallout 3.

The story behind the events that took place in The Pitt is rather straight forward. It is recommended that you utilize multiple saves in the event you would like to try different conversation choices. Also there are two different endings to The Pitt, as well as a slew of new weapons and perks to enjoy.

As with the normal storyline of Fallout 3, if at any time the enemy A.I. proves to bee difficult, simply adjust the difficulty slider in the options.

Now, on to the guide...

Into the Pitt - Completed "Into The Pitt" - 20

This quest will start once you recieve the pop up notification about the radio broadcast, it is as follows;

"Into The Pitt"
"There are reports of a new radio message being broadcast actoss the Capital Wasteland. The transmission appears to be some sort of distress call, and gives little information except the location and name of the man making the plea..."

Find the source of the radio transmission:
The first location you must travel to is a radio tower directly north of the SatCom Array NN-03d. Fast travel to SatCom Array NN-03d then travel north to the radio tower. You will run into Wernher. After some conversation and choices, he hints at you coming with him through the tunnel to The Pitt.

Acquire a slave outfit:
Head west from the radio tower to the marker on the map, which is the Train Tunnel. You will encounter Slavers. Ramsey is the name of one who has the slave pen key. Proceed to kill them all and get the kep from Ramsey then walk up to the slave pen and unlock it. Prosper will run up to you and conversation will start. After acquiring a slave outfit, return to Werhner.

Return to Werhner:
After the conversation return to Werhner, he then tells you to meet him by the entrance to The Pitt. The Pitt tunnell entrance is located past the slave pen by the railroad tracks. Follow the map marker.

Travel to The Pitt:
Enter the Door to Pitt Tunnel. Inside the tunnel will be Werhner waiting next to the hand card. Werhner tells you to jump on the cart. Press to activate the hand cart. Select the option "Travel to The Pitt." After you arrive walk forward a bit, Werhner will tell you that someone is coming and to let him do the talking. Keep walking forward. A conversation will take place and events will happen and after that continue walking towards the marker on the map, Werhner will open the gate for you and tell you that you can't bring anything in with you, after this continue to move forward walking up the hill towards the road then proceed to walk over The Pitt Bridge and you will notice to your right there is a mound of debris you must walk up to get to the other side of that which is blocking your path.

NOTE: Be mindful of the land mines and bear traps on the bridge, there are many of them.

After the bridge follow the road where you see slaves running and a stop sign, take a right there down that road and you will see a large gate down the road, the gate will then be opened as you walk up to it. Mex will then have a conversation with you telling you to get back to work, proceed through the door on the left. Walk forward a few steps and ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED!

Unsafe Working Conditions - Completed "Unsafe Working Conditions" - 20

Once you enter the Door to Downtown and unlocked the last achievement, this quest will begin.

Make contact with Midea:
Keep progressing forward along the sidewalk and follow the path to the right towards the marker on the map. The marker is Midea. Press to speak with her. After some conversation she advises you to meet with her at her house.

Meet with Midea in private:
After the conversation with Midea, follow her to her house. (Try not to follow too close as she warns the guards may catch on.) Once inside Midea's house she explains about getting you into a palace, as well as explains collecting Ingots, about Trogs, as well as other information. You will now have two more objectives added to this quest. After the conversation is over, exit Midea's house.

Collect 10 Ingots from the Steelyard:
Once the game loads you outside of Midea's house, turn to the right and walk towards the scaffolding and take the left path. Continue to follow the path on the side walk under the scaffolding (you will pass a tricycle on your way.) Once you get to the street, take a right and walk down the street. Enter the Door to The Mill on your left at the end of the street. Once inside The Mill, proceed down the small set of steps, continue going straight and vere right just a bit going towards the map marked ahead of you, which is the the doorway to The Steelyard.

(Optional) Get a weapon from Marco (highly recommended):
Follow the path to the right, before the entrance to The Steelyard. It will take you all the way around to a building with a bunch of what looks like computer servers and terminals inside. In the room is Marco, speak with him to obtain your weapon.

Collect 10 Ingots from the Steelyard (continued):
After acquiring your weapon from Marco, if you did that is, travel back to the entrance to The Steelyard. Go through the door and travel through until you reach the Door to Abandoned Area and enter it. Once in the abandoned area, walk forward through the cages. Continue through the cages until you enter a room with the Door to The Steelyard (the only door in the room, and with a blood splatter on it.)

NOTE: Once you enter into The Steelyard there is a Pitt Slave on the ground in front of you a few steps, along with an assault rifle and ammo, pick these up if you like.

The Steelyard is where you will collect your first 10 Steel Ingots, as well as many more of them. *see Mill Worker achievement for Ingot locations* Once you've collected 10 Steel Ingots, you will get a message as follows;

Spoiler! (click here to reveal)

Once you have collected enough Steel Ingots, you must return to Midea.

Return to Midea:
Go back to the entrance to The Steelyard and exit. Proceed to back track to the Door to Abandoned Area. Once there, go back through the cages. You will battle a Trog before you exit. After you kill the Trog, exit to The Mill. Once outside, you will speak with Everett about the Ingots collected. After the conversation, follow the map marker, which will lead you to the Door to Downtown. Follow the path (and map marker) back to Midea's house. Speak with Midea. After the conversation, exit Midea's house.

Listen to Ashur's Speech in the courtyard:
After exiting Midea's house, walk towards the courtyard and do as the objective states (you can't avoid it.)

Sign up for the Arena:
Make your way back on the path to The Mill. After entering The Mill, proceed down the steps, and walk towards the hols in the ground that is fenced over and right before it take a right and open the gate. Spook will initiate a brief conversation. After the conversation, continue through the door and turn right. Head down the steps, following the linear path to the arena. Faydra will stop you about signing up. Make the necessary choices.

NOTE: This next series of objectives are somewhat repetitive, as you do the same thing three times, but I will still break it all down.

(Optional) Prepare for the Arena fights:
Unfortunately, I'm not quite sure what these entail, as I gathered everything from the locker and completed all conversation options with Faydra but it didn't mark them as complete, however, they are optional quests, so it's not necessary to complete them.

Entering/Leaving the Hole:
Upon selecting the conversation option of being ready to fight, (during the chat with Faydra,) you will be able to go through the Rusty Gate in the back of the room. Enter the Rusty Gate to the Hole. Upon leaving the hole after the battles, Faydra will heal your radiation poisioning for the next fight.

Defeat your opponents (3 battles):
The radiation levels will jump, ranging from around +3 per second to +12 per second. There will be 3 battles that you have to complete. Simply defeat the enemies using whatever weapons you have. The first battle is against 3 slaves. The second battle is against the Bear Brothers. The third, and final battle, is against Gruber (the reigning champion of the Hole, according to Faydra.)

Spoiler! (click here to reveal)

Once you finish the arena battles you will receive the message contained in the spoiler below.

Spoiler! (click here to reveal)

Leave the Hole:
Upon exiting the hole, Faydra will congratulate you, as well as heal your radiation poisoning. ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED!

Free Labor - Completed "Free Labor" - 40

After completing the last quest and unlocking the corresponding achievement, this quest will become active.

Retrieve your gear:
After you are done with the arena fights, and after conversations end with Faydra, simply walk forward and open the footlocker to gather all of your belongings.

Go through Uptown and enter Haven:
After acquiring your gear, leave the Arena. Once you exit the door to the Arena, go down the steps and turn right. Follow the path towards the map marker, past the Steelyard and it will lead you to a gate. The guard won't give you any trouble, so just go on through the gate and up the small set up stairs and enter the Door to Uptown. Once you exit out from the door, head down the alley way and into the street and take a right, again following the map marker. Once you get to the irradiated courtyard, you will see a set of stairs on your left that go up. Take the stairs up. once you're at the top, start walking through the hallway, as soon as you round the first corner take an immediate right onto the walkway and head left up the ramp. Once at the top of the ramp, proceed through the scaffolding and keep walking forward on the suspended walkway. Follow the walkway all the way down to street level and continue to walk towards the statue in the courtyard ahead. Continue up the steps and enter the Door to Haven Entrance.

Meet Ashur in Haven:
Once inside, walk forward and up the steps (left side or right, it doesn't matter) and enter the Elevator to Haven. Once out of the elevator, walk forward down the hall. You will enter a large room. Ashur is there having a conversation with Krenshaw. You must wait until the conversation is complete between them, you cannot interrupt. After the conversation and choices made in the conversation with Asher, event will occur and Ashur will run off.

Find the cure in Ashur's palace:
After Ashur run's off, from the desk, turn to the right and head north through the door. Take a left down the hall and speak with Sandra.

Follow the marker on the map and you will meet up with Werhner and talk about travelling to The Pitt. Follow the map marker and get the slave outfit. After meeting back up with Werhner, follow the map marker to the tunnel entrance and active the hand cart to travel to The Pitt. Follow the path with Werhner. You really don't want this guide to succeed in this guide. I also seen your previous post which has been deleted. Cut him some slack.

One thing I notice:
"-Approximate amount of time to 200/1000 "
This DLC is worth 100GS, not 200

I love how people on this site (Not the OP here) "reserve" their spot" before things are even out. You had one DLC let someone else do it,

I figured it was still in the very early stages. No problem man.

EDIT: Quick question... Are you planning on adding all the locations of the Ignots? I'm downloading now, so I'm not sure if they're easy to find or something a full guide will be very helpful for.

What about my first post? He posted a topic with nothing in the thread except "workin progress." No pictures, descriptions, nothing. He jumped the gun, just to be the first to do it. You should have all of that crap laid out before you put up a new thread.

He can waste his time if he wants. Like I said, Y0UNIK0RN has these achievements posted in his DLC guide. His guide isn't finished either, but it's already stickied. Which means that this one, unless it completely blows his out of the water, probably won't be. That's just how shit works around here.

P.S. - NFaMuS one - it's 100/100, not 100/1000. Online achievements = 0, not 4. And you may as well not even bother with the "-Does difficulty affect achievements?" because it's already been established that difficulty does not affect achievements in Fallout 3.

Okay, I'm still in the process of updating the guide. I figured I would take a shot at making one. Is that a bad thing? I figure, worst case scenario, my guide gets scrapped. Then what? Oh well. At least I can say I tried. Also, I have this thread open in another browser window with all the updated you mentioned. I writing everything out as we speak.

Also, on the topic of me posting a thread to reserve the spot, technically I did, but then realized and went back to edit it, and clicked save, and the information wasn't saved.

Now I am working on the guide, but even if yours is better do we really need another sticky of a guide? If you want I can stop my guide if you really want it and I''l put this guide into the DLC achievement guide thread with credit for you. I just don't see the reason in another sticky.

Valid point. Well, at the time I didnt realize that you had The Pitt achievements listed in your DLC guide, and I figured I would take a shot at it. Upon further research, thanks to a heads up from a few people, I saw you had them, but by that time i had already had typed up the walkthrough for the first achievement, so I figured I would just go ahead and run with it.

I'd like to finish writing the guide, and we can work out the specifics later as far as where it goes. I've tried several times to write a guide and someone always beats me to the punch. I saw this as the perfect oppurtunity.

My DLC is messing up too. Quite frustrating.

EDIT: I finally got through the door to downtown. Hopefully it doesnt mess up any more.

Yes, I plan to make a complete guide for all 100 Ingot locations, with pictures included, though the pictures will take a bit to get, they will be uploaded as soon as possible.

I've managed to found all the steel ingots so I can help out if you need it Also it might be worth of note for Mill Worker, as soon as you give all of your steel ingots and got the last reward the achievement will be unlocked. (Saves confusion when you got #100 and not gotten the achievement)

I just got word that The Pitt DLC is now uploading and should be available for download sometime this evening. When it is up, I'll let everyone know.

In the meantime, if you downloaded the corrupted content, you'll want to delete it.

From the Xbox 360 dashboard:
  • Select My Xbox
  • Select System Settings
  • Select Memory
  • Select Hard Drive
  • Select Games
  • Select Fallout 3
  • From there, you'll find your game saves and DLC content. Just delete The Pitt DLC file.
When the new version of The Pitt becomes available, you'll be able to re-download it at no additional cost.

I've received several questions about game saves. We highly recommend using game saves made prior to the DLC content being loaded to your game.

Thanks for your patience, we hope you enjoy playing The Pitt.
We'll see what happens I guess. I believe Bethesda is flat out lying about the file being corrupt and there were other problems they don't want to admit to.

EDIT: Just finished The Pitt. Took just under 4 hours. All the glitches and bugs made this, by far, the worst game/DLC I've ever played. Absolutely horrendous and yes, I did get the new version that was supposedly good.

No idea what the fuck post #3 is.

However, AMAZING guide, rare to see one with Walkthrough's. Good job, and ignore that pumpkin guy or whoever, just a hater.

Post # 3 of the guide is the shotrened version, to fit in one post and to serve as just the achievement guide...the rest is the walkthrough. I'm still trying to sort everything out and get it organized, lol.

Thanks for all the props on the guide. I appreciate it. I look forward to writing other guides as well, time permitting of course.

Also, I have a few odds and ends to tie up within this guide, but thanks again, keep the feedback coming.

If I complete all The Pitt quests without completing the Ingot collection, can I come back and collect them once I finish...or is there a point of no return for ingot collection where I can't turn them in anymorE?

I personally didn't run into that, but I wouldn't see why not. Of course, the ability to turn them in for a reward may be diminished based on the choice you make for the last quest. (unconfirmed)

I will give this ago to confirm, but if anyone else can confirm this, please feel free to post the information. Thanks.

I just completed it, wont spoil which ending I got, but I am able to go to the steelyard just fine and collect the ingots. The porter is also still there.

I got the "steal" ending, wink wink nudge nudge
