Card Duplication Tutorial

Below is a good method to duplicate cards you already have. It will not duplicate the exact card you want, but it will greatly increase the probability of getting that particular card.

It is recommended that you start playing the story mode to get a feel of the game mechanic. It’ll also give you the opportunity to earn cards which you can duplicate.

Please note that a 2nd controller is needed or this will not work.

Tutorial

Cepter Creation Stage
1. Create a new or use an existing secondary gamertag (2ndGT). You will need a 2ndGT in addition to your main gamertag (1stGT). The 2ndGT doesn’t need to have access to live.
2. Create a cepter with your 2ndGT. It should look different from your 1stGT’s cepter.

Trade Stage

The trade stage will only need to be repeated if your 1stGT gets a new card and you want to have multiple copies of it.
1. Make sure your 2ndGT is signed in.
2. Enter versus with your 1stGT
3. Rules, Map & Settings Selection: The settings and maps are not important in this stage since you will not be playing. Just leave everything as default.
4. Cepter Selection: Select your 1stGT cepter 1st and your 2ndGT cepter 2nd. Use your 2nd controller to select your 2ndGT cepter.
5. Match Lobby: Just enter Trade.
6. Trade: Your 1stGT can give 4 cards at a time as many times as you want to your 2ndGT as long as your 2ndGT does not have a copy of it already. Basically, you can only send 1 copy of each card in the game to your 2ndGT.
7. When the 4 cards are selected, begin the trade, but do not save your 1stGT when prompted. Only save your 2ndGT. If you trade a card that you already had 2 or 3 copies of, and you accidentally saved your 1stGT, your 2ndGT can’t trade it back.
8. Repeat steps 6 & 7 until your 2ndGT has all the cards you want. Then exit to the title screen. Since you did not save after each trade, your 1stGT should still have all cards traded.

Capture (duplicating) Stage

1. Make sure your 2ndGT is signed in.
2. Enter Versus with your 1stGT.
3. Rule Selection: Change your game setting to Custom and reduce the minimum magic to 1000g.
4. Map Selection: Select Santana Village (Beginner) or Alter of Darkness (Advanced)
5. Game Configuration Settings: change card capture to 4, the minimum magic to 1000g, land type to Morph (purple swirl) and the rounds to 10 (optional).
6. Cepter Selection: Select your 1stGT cepter 1st and your 2ndGT cepter 2nd. Use your 2nd controller to select your 2ndGT cepter.
7. Match Lobby: In the book edit for your 1stGT, try to build a deck with the same color cards and with lots of magic making spells (gift, feast, refuge, etc). Use the Win Deck outlined HERE as a guide. For your 2ndGT, build a deck of 30 with all the cards you traded and want to duplicate.
8. Start a match and make sure your 1stGT wins.
9. After you get the prize cards, save your 1stGT, but do not save your 2ndGT. If your 2ndGTs prize cards are ones you do not have and want, trade your 2ndGTs cards and again save your 1stGT, but do not save your 2ndGT. You should also earn 4 of the 30 cards in 2ndGT’s deck. Exit to the title screen. Since you did not save after the match, your 2ndGT should still have all cards lost in the match.
10. Repeat trade stage if you won new prize cards you want duplicates of, else repeat steps 1 through 9.

Kevin Boleware's Gamercard
Thanks for the post. Should be very helpful to some people. Do you know if the trade cards randomly selected come from the deck only, or are they chosen from the 2nd player's entire card stock?

From the deck only. You'll notice after each round the 2nd GT's deck will be unusable since it is less then 30. The 2nd GT will also get E cards once you meet the requirements which you can use in the 2nd GT's deck. E cards can not be captured, but will fill up space, reducing the pool of cards to select from to a number below 30 depending on how many E cards you have in the deck.
