Flex0r75's Gamercard
Lightbulb To clear up a few things

This is a copy (plus a few additions) of my post in the general thread as most people seeking this info are only looking in this thread.

1. Setting up matches where one quits out will not help you in your quest for Island Hopper and Victory Rush. However! Surrendering WILL! The other player can surrender immediately after starting the game. It might not show up as a win in the leaderboards but you will get the achievements. I won all Island Capture, Duel and Competitive maps legit while hosting, but the Escort and Siege modes you need are just too hard to find (players for) so I tried the 4 or 5 maps of each mode I still needed to win with a friend using said method and Victory Rush unlocked after he surrendered the last map I needed.

My guess is it will also count to your play x matches as ... and host/win 50 games cheevo's but I can't confirm as I already had those. Just choose Surrender instead of quit as all online players should do when they see defeat looming

2. Tin Can Captain: It has to be done in one match but not necessarily manually or with just one destroyer. I got it in an Island Capture game that ended up being 1v1 and spammed shimikaze's to keep the enemy at bay. I sent streams of them to the enemy's location(s) and then turned on their aggressive stance so they all attack the same target mainly using torpedoes (of which this class of DD launches HUGE salvo's) making sure each ship sunk is done so by the torps. Also, having six or seven doing this at the same time will drop like 80 fish into the water usually crippling/sinking any enemy ships near the one that was targetted. I got it while being on the map screen and not having launched a single torpedo myself.

3. Killing subs with another sub. Seeing that some people use strange tactics to try to get this achievement, they should pay more attention to the ingame hints. Set the target sub as your target using the 'A' button while at periscope depth and the torpedoes fired will travel to the correct depth. Easily set up or achieved in some missions.

4. Veteran Achievements: Can be played out of order, just make sure to keep track of which missions you've done. On the US campaign, on my first playthrough on rookie, I went for Santa Cruz on Veteran cheevo and then went on doing the rest on rookie. When I came back to finish the campaign on veteran I skipped that mission and did the last couple of missions completely out of order finishing the sub and flying missions first and then went back to 10 and finally 14 and it unlocked no problems.

additions:

5. Disembarkation as the info in the guide at the top of this page is incorrect. It's not an AK you have to use but an LST which has to capture a base or HQ. Easiest to do early in an Island Capture game by having an LST attacking one of the neutral bases near your starting point. Make sure not to have any other ships in the inner circle of that base stealing the capture from the LST.

6. 20 Magazine explosions using a dive-bomber can be done in aviation training. Just keep pummeling the ships with magazine hits. No need to actually dive-bomb, you can treat your bomber as a level bomber, the corsair is always correct. You have to keep switching targets as the ship needs to repair itself for hits to trigger an explosion again. Sinking ships is nothing to worry about! They will be replaced by identical ships sailing from the edge of radar range to approximately their previous position where they will once again lie still (fresh meat). I did it in Japanese training and don't try to count, just persist until it pops.

7. Repair for your life. I did this with one of my own cruisers torpedoeing my own battleship and artillery fire until the health bar is light green (being fatally damaged) then turn on the pumps which would then leave a small peace of darker green. This then has to be fine-tuned with additional artillery fire until only a REALLY small dark-green speck is visible AFTER turning on the pumps (retaining minimal health). You don't need to get back to full health, you should get it as soon as the fires and floods have been contained and you have extremely little health left.

Repair for your Life
You need someone to get you down to about 25% on multiplayer, then have them torpedo your boat. When your boat is about to die you quickly select 'repair water' in the repair menu, then the acheev will popup.

Trainkiller
If you follow the train tracks all the way to the tunnel on that map, you'll notice 3 large white oil things. Shoot them as the train comes past them and the achieve is yours.

If there are other ways to get it, and obviously are easier seeing as my method takes 2 minutes then you never have to worry about it again, and yours takes the entire length of the Japanese campaign, whos is more efficient.

And I never asked you to change anything else in your guide, stop taking this so personal man, I'm just posting additional info that OTHER people may find useful. You asked for help/input I am posting. Use what you like, discard what you don't want in, but don't break down my post of very useful info and make me look like the asshole. I wasn't posting it just for you, and the only thing I mentioned should change, or at least get ammended was Banzaaii. At the very least, get rid of the thing that says it is the only way, and add the other way too. A regular Kamikaze attack in TRAINING where they don't shoot back seems like a guarentee to me.
Okay, I apologize.I was incorrect.Didn't think i had 'Only' in that description....either way, i corrected it, and thank you for correcting me on that Malice.

The correct, easy and the fastest way to unluck a certain achievement should be in your description. Not the slow (need to complete almost a whole campaign) way.

I think you should read the Achievement Guide in the Achievement Discussion and think hard of wich achievement descriptions you should change. Because the ones in the Achievement Discussions gives much more detail about certain achievements.
As for you, that elipse was taken out of context, and it could have been quoted from a lot of my posts, seeing as I really like to use elipses.Anyways, I don't appreciate being lecture, seeing as I've already written a guide, AND read the guide in the discussion forum. Please, go there and pull any descriptions that are better than mine/more descriptive than mine.I didn't see anything that would prove to be better than what i posted. If you can prove I'm incorrect, i'll admit it and add it to the guide...

oh, and you misspelled 'Unlock'

I have tried that 7 times that way and still can't get the achievement.

First of all, spelling mistakes do happen even in your post. (being lecture....d?) .

The fact that you already have written a guide shouldnt be a reason for us not to help/guide/lecture you in creating a perfect Achievement Guide. I will try to correct someone even if he/she has written 25 guides... it doesnt matter. The thing that does matter is the end result, a perfect Achievement Guide.

Tin Can Captain 15
Wich game mode, wich map is the best to boost on? (Island Capture, map 5 small, you'll spawn almost on top of your enemy). And the fact that you dont have to do this in a single game, that maybe should prove usefull. Cause some people think you do.

Armchair Admiral 10
The Quitting method works just fine, you don't have to play through the entire map.

Frontline Admiral 10
The Quitting method also works just fine for this one, you don't have to play through the entire map.

Fighter Ace 15
It usually takes much longer to shoot down a bomber than a fighter. I prefer the straffing the planes on Pearl Harbor tactic. First time i tried it that way i unlocked () the achievement.

Submarine Hunter-killer 20
Just keep pressing A untill you locked the enemy sub. Than just use you're torpedos as you usually do. No need to wait for the enemy to surface.

Flying Fish 5
For the quick Achievement Gamers, the training mission.

Hope this helps in creating an even better Achievement Guide.

Indeed Indeed but if you have friends or can arrange a few sessions with people on here you can farm 250k exp in one game. I'm having more problems with Deadly Accuracy and Victory Rush than earning exp for the ranks. Currently im Chief Warrant Officer and i haven't really played it that much mostly been trying to get offline achievements. Oh and thanks for the linkage much appreciated.

I dont know of anybody else who plays the game :P Most Ive had in a game was about 20k, I think its Swirl on small on Island Capture...its just destroyers. 1200points worth each - its just a torpedo fest

Deadly Accuracy - do it on the training level, kill the BB and then, when it respawns, it goes close to the carrier - get the bombing run timing correct and ull hit both

Ive just started going for Victory Rush, but it takes forever to get anybody to join Siege/Escort maps. I did all the competitive and most of the duel maps ages ago. Rank doesnt bother me, Im currently Chief Petty, but I would like to hit Lt for the achievement

No, sorry From the site's guide:

----

Tin Can Captain15 Sink 20 enemy ships with your destroyer by using torpedoes. This cannot be done in training, but is easily accomplished in Island Capture multiplayer by setting 5-10 destroyers on aggressive (hold and press left on the ) while your partner builds LSTs or APs. Kills do not have to be in the same session, and obviously do not need to be by the same destroyer. You do not need to personally fire the torpedoes either; it can be earned purely from the Tactical Map. You can also get this in the single player campaign.

Or you could just start a skirmish on Small Clash against the AI on Rookie. Be the Japaneese and pick the Shimakaze destroyer and spawn 12 of those and send them just infront of the enemy's supply base (Not HQ, the Supply base) and wait for the AI's spawned Clevelands to get close before telling your shimakaze's to attack. For added chanche of killing it with a torp, control one of your ships yourself.

It is worth noting that ALL DLC achievements can be earnt in skirmish against the AI: you do not need to do them online.
I got all 5 of them in this manner
