Cursed Artifact Guide by Lucky CX7

Ghostbusters Cursed Artifact Guide
for Xbox360Achievements.org by Lucky CX7

This is my first guide, please leave a reply and let me know what you think. Thanks!!

- If you miss an artifact you can replay the levels and collect them to count.
- Starting a "New Career" will lose all current progress in Artifacts collected.
- Use your PKE Meter to help you locate these in game, the lights on the meter will turn blue when an artifact is near you. Keep an eye on the meter while it's on your hip, as it will turn blue when you are near them as well.
- Then use the PKE meter to scan/pick up the artifact.
- If you die after picking up an artifact it still records it as picked up. No need to even look for it again, as it won't be there.

Total Artifacts: 42 (6 per level)

Hotel Sedgewick: 6 Artifacts

1. Gustav Self-Service Tray
Sub-Chapter: Slime Trail
After you're introduced to the PKE meter you will have to soon scan a vase to locate Slimer. In the next room after that it's laying on the floor next to some vending machines
Shouldn't be able to miss this one, it's the one the game uses to intro you to artifacts.

2. The Summoner Bell
Sub-Chapter: Rough Descent OR The Bellhops are Restless
After using the elevator to go back down stairs you will go in to a big open area. You will battle some ghosts here. The artifact is at the bellhops desk on the other side of the room. You can get this during the battle or after. If you miss this one here you get another chance after you capture Slimer because you will end up in the same area.

3. Stay Puft Figure

In this tunnel take a right. This leads you to a room that is a dead end. The artifact is in this room. It's directly on the other side on the right side wall in the dark. The cross hair in the picture is pointing directly at it.

5. Ghostbusters DVD
Sub-Chapter: Sewer Maze

To the left of there is another above ground crypt (seen on the left of the first picture). Go around the right side of this crypt and the artifact is hiding behind it.

3. Stone Angel Head
Sub-Chapter: Battle in the Boneyard
After the next cut scene (and a small battle) you will pass between two light posts. From right there you should see an above ground crypt (seen in first picture). The artifact is hidden on the right side of that crypt. You may need to burn down some bushes to get to the side of the crypt.

4. Ghostfruit Tree

If you goto the right you can see the artifact on the other side of the rocks. With the PKE out you can maneuver and collect it here (seen in first picture). If you are having troubles getting it this way, you can go around the water, clearing out the roots as you go and get it on the other side (seen in second picture).

6. Archangel's Gallbladder
Sub-Chapter: Attack of the Stone Angels
As you return to the surface you will see a large door with three faces on it. The final artifact is in the alcove just to the left of the door. It's best to collect it now to get it out of the way, since this is where you will enter a big battle. If you don't get it first you can collect it during or after the battle.

I currently don't have that one (hence why I didn't list the name of it), that was just the information provided in another thread. I will update when I have better info on it.

Edit: You need to break just the right hand side of the wall behind the bar (still the wall where the bottles are)

So far I am only missing two through out the whole game so far and I just got to the island. They are pretty easy to find. Good job so far in the guide. Also I like how they name the artifacts in the pause menu so you know exactly which ones you are missing,

I'm doing the final level now so will list all the ones I find as I go along.

1: Whistling Bust Of Mausch- Right at the start of the level, run straight down the path ahead of you and then turn right at the very end (just past the break in the wall you follow to progress in the level) and it's hidden in the right hand corner in the dark. You'll only see it when you get close with your PKE meter.

2: Ghostbuster's Mug & Balloon- Progress through the level after number 1. Nothing will have happened in this time. Eventually, you'll pass a crypt to your right which has the name 'Gerald G. McGalth' above the door. Continue past this and head straight ahead towards the front of the church. Turn right here and keep going forward through a broken wall and another crypt on your left. Go left and look around the back of the crypt with your PKE meter to find this one hidden away.

3: Stone Angel Head- After you've teamed up with Ray and had your first fight on this level with ghosts, blast the bits of rubble out of the way so you can get through the opening. As soon as you are through this opening, you'll see a crypt ahead of you. Go over to it and there's a small chunk of wall to the right of it. This artifact is hidden in the corner behind that bit of wall.

4: Ghostfruit Tree- After you have retrieved the key and used it to go through the door, watch the cut scene. When you come back after that, turn right immediately and head straight towards that corner with your PKE meter out. When you get to the corner, turn right and you'll see this shrub sitting there.

5: The Skull Of Ivo Shandor- After you and Ray have talked to Egon, Peter and Winston through the gate, blast the pile of skulls to proceed. You will now head underground and have some tree roots in your way, which you slime as you will have already done in this level. You will then reach an opening with a pool of water. At this point you'll be attacked by some gravestones and reanimators, so deal with those. Now follow the path to the left around the water and then instead of following the path through the roots ahead, keep following it around the water to the right and there'll be another set of tree roots to destroy. Get rid of those and you will find this sitting at the end of that passage.

6: Archangel's Gallbladder- Once you leave the underground section and emerge above ground again, you'll see a huge brown gate in front of you with three faces on it. Either side of that gate, there are a couple of small statues of angels. If you approach the second one on the left with your PKE meter out, you'll find this final artifact of the game.

I apologise for the lack of pics, I don't have a capture card or anything like that. I just did this on the fly as I played through the level and thought it might help out anyone too impatient to wait for this guide to be completed!

Also, I reckon it will be worth adding in which section of the level you can find each artifact in. Since you can pick and choose a section when you use the replay mission option, I'm sure the people going back for ones they've missed would love to know which section to start at to reduce their searching time!

*EDIT*

I wish your guide was finished, the Wheel of the Alabaster Wretch is the only one I need now!!

*EDIT*

Found it! That's all of them

nice thread. helped me find some missing artefacts. the final 3 i was missing were on the lost island level so as i went back to get them i noted where they were hidden to help others out.

4. Wheel of the Alabaster Wretch
After youíre separated from the other ghost busters youíll be on your own for a while. Youíll be heading through a few rooms connected with tubes that you have to go through. Head through the first couple as normal until you get to one with a split in the path. Head right, in the room at the end is this one. Itís against a wall on the right where you come out of the tube. Youíll know itís the right tube because youíll see a venom crawler scurry along the top of the tube.
5. Ghostbusters DVD
When you get to the tunnels after clearing the big room of black slime follow the only path you can until you get to a bit where you can go straight ahead or right. Head right and collect this artefact from the future off the ground.
6. Singing Slime
After you rescue Winston from the Iron Maiden head up the stairs and go through the door. Head straight ahead past the stairs and go behind the big machine on your left.
i also remembered where i found another one on this level but i can't remember which one it is. i'll give the directions anyway.

After the hedge maze part when you gain entry to Shandor castle head around until you get to the passage you have to go down. Donít go down there straight away. Head straight down the corridor and at the end is a boarded up bit. Blast your way through there and bingo artefact on the floor.

hope that helps

Maybe one day someone can add the exact level they are on. I know the chapter is mentioned, but it would save time knowing what the level was also. I got lucky when I had to find two of them I took some really good guess.

I plan on adding that as soon as I get the bulk of the info/pictures done. If you know of some right now PM me or reply it and I will add them.

The descriptions and pictures are now complete. I am currently double checking all the sub-chapters/checkpoints to add those in. Other than that unless you guys demand better pictures (and I find a better way to take them with what I have), it will be complete when I add those.

Yes, you can. You don't even need to finish that section to save it- you can just quit as soon as you've got the artifact.

This guide is very helpful indeed, weird though i can now add this achievement to the list of achievements that aren't working, well for me anyhow.

I'm just wondering if I dare go back and collect the 3 ghosts thats I didn't scan as if there is something wrong it will be pointless.

Wow, dude. For your first guide, this is very, very well done. Good detailed descriptions that you relate to easy to remember events in the game make it easy to find what you're pointing us toward....and you included semi-high quality, easy to see images of what we're looking for on top of that. Bravo on one of the best collectible guides I've seen on this site, sir.

hey I was thinking about going through the game trying to find them all and then just going back to get the ones i missed. so for example does it say something like : level 1 XX/XX collectibles found? or do you just kind of have to guess what ones you missed? thanks! awesome guide!

When you go into Replay Missions, it tells you how many you have in each level (not which ones, you can look that up in your pause menu though)
