Slipknot - The Grey Chapter

After six long years Slipknot are back with a solid album.

Custer is my favourite on the album, crowds going to go mental when this comes on.. Classic Slipknot with lots of bangers, especially enjoying: The Devil in i, AOV, Sarcastrophe and The Negative one. \m/

The Devil in i official video (enjoy)

Devil In I is fucking fantastic. The lyrics are deep and I'm 100% certain the first verse is about Paul and the second about Joey. The red hooded figures in the music video also represent Paul and Joey.

The Negative One is alright…but I'm just eager to hear the entire album already.

Oh, and remove the "s" in "https" so that the video gets embedded.

Nah, I went and saw Slipknot in 2008 when they came to Aus and that was their last ol album (All hope is gone). They will never be like they used to be when they had their Iowa and Slipknot albums out. Ibelieve they've gone so soft so since then I've moved on from Slipknot to Machine Head and others like Avenged Sevenfold, Peirce The Veil and Sleeping With Sirens but only because each song sounds different and that their stuff is kinda catchy/groovy :-)

I like it musically! There are some spots where Cory's voice is just horrible IMO!

I don't really think they went soft, to most people even All Hope Is Gone (their weakest album imo) is still heavy. This album isn't quite up to par with Iowa as far as heaviness, but it feels more like the 'old' Slipknot.. if you know what I'm trying to get at. I always liked Slipknot because their music feels raw and they definitely brought that back with this album.

Some songs were heavy but overall All Hope is Gone was soft compared to Iowa and Slipknot, those two albums were heavy and very raw, they had so much hate to let out back then, now they are mourning the loss of their bassist since he died. I'll have to have listen at some point.

Did anyone watch their AudioBiography?

https://play.google.com/store/music/...a_vid_slipknot

Corey and Clown straight up say that All Hope Is Gone was utter shit and they weren't proud of it. But how .5 The Gray Chapter is probably their proudest album since Iowa.

I'm digging their confidence in the album. I personally haven't had the chance to pick it up, though I've only listened to five tracks.

Hopefully I can pick it up this week!!

Only listened through the album once. Need to go through it again to pick out the best songs, but Sarcastrophe stands out so far.

Very excited at seeing them in January. Supported by Korn as well.

Finally gave the whole album a good listen over the past two days.

XIX, AOV, Devil in I, Lech, Nomadic, Custer, and If Rain Is What You Want…these are all gold.

AOV is probably my favorite. Great album!!
