Intel Locations

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Intel Locations

PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME FRIEND REQUESTS. I AM HAPPY TO ANSWER QUESTIONS BUT I MAY HAVE RENTED/TRADED THE GAME ALREADY. I DON'T ACCEPT RANDOM FRIEND REQUESTS.

There are 45 Intel items to find through the whole game. Some of them may be a little tricky to find so hopefully this guide will be useful to anyone who is lost.

NOTE: Second Sun has no collectibles, just progress through this level until you get to Whiskey Hotel.

You will earn the following achievements while following this guide:

The Road Less Traveled - 10
Collect 22 enemy Intel items.

Leave No Stone Unturned- 10
Collect 45 enemy Intel items.

ACT 1

S.S.D.D

1. Complete the shooting range and head towards your objective. Once you get to the entrance of the pit look to your left and you will see a guard tower, check the table below to find the Intel.

Team Player

1. Progress through the level until you breach the school. You will make your way up to the second floor and clear out all the enemies. Follow the hallways down and to the right. You will be faced with an open space with several enemies, kill them all and look in the room just to the right. Look for green and white painted walls, this room is just before you exit the school and collect Intel #2 for this section.

2. Just as you exit the school look on an ammo crate just to the left of the yellow taxi. It's quite hard to miss.

Cliffhanger

1. Make your way to the base. As soon you arrive and have approached the first marker you will see a red snow vehicle just to the right of a jeep. Just a little further back you will see a watch tower. Climb the tower to find this Intel on the catwalk.

2. Keep progressing with the mission up until you have planted the bomb and met up with Soap. Once at his location instead of going straight to him head to the rear of the other hanger. Look in the windows where you will two workers repairing jets. The Intel is on the table in front of the window. Smash the glass to collect this one.

3. Make your way to the snow mobile, once your racing away from your enemies you will come to a narrow path which then forks into two paths, on the right side you will see a shack on the hill. In front of you should be a wooden fence, drive between the trees and look carefully on the ground. You will need to drive over the Intel to collect it. It's hidden next to a few bushes so check your stats on the pause menu to see if you collected it without knowing. It's located around the 1800 meter marker, if you have overshot this area just reverse or load your previous checkpoint.

Takedown

1. Start the level and take down your objective, you will then carry on your path and drop down into an area with loads of dilapidated houses. Kill all the enemies and make your way around to the central area. You will know when your there as there is a blue motorcycle lent up again one of the buildings. Head into the building just to the left of the bike with a "Vignanca" poster. Look on the table in the kitchen of this building.

2. This one is a little tricky to find, progress onto the next section where you will be ambushed just after the playground. There is a small green house in the middle of this open area. Make your way up through the houses, you will make your way through several alleys, you will soon come to a second open area. You will be ambushed again. As you make your way to this second area look out for a cream/sand colored building with a ladder. Climb the ladder and collect the Intel from the table just inside the door.

3. Exit the house you just entered for the previous Intel, you should see a set of small wooden steps on the house across from your location. Look in the first floor bedroom to find the Intel next to the bed. If you have gone past the green house you have gone to far and need to head back to your previous location.

4. Again, keep following your objective around the houses. You will head up a set of stairs and see a green car in front of you. Once you see this car on fire head into the building just to the right of it and go down stairs. The Intel is on a small table between two beds.

ACT 2

Wolverines

1. Make your way through the mission until you get to the gas station. Head inside and look on the counter to find this Intel.

2. While heading to "Nates" you will see a helicopter in flames in the parking lot. Behind it you will see the "CRB Financial" building, head inside the bank and goto the left, look for a sign that says "Online Banking". You will find the Intel sitting next to a computer on the desk.

3. Make your way into "Taco Togo", just to your right as you enter you will see the Intel on a table near the front door.

4. Keep progressing with your objectives until you are orders to clear out "Burger Town". Head behind the building to find a dumpster in a fenced off area. The Intel is hidden inside the dumpster in this fenced off area.

The Hornet's Nest

1. Make your way up the hill and clear out the area of enemy forces. Once everything is clear you will need to head down a small alleyway past a red building. Before you follow the alleyway head in the doorway which is located in the middle of the red/yellow building. Look to your right as you enter and you will find the Intel on a kitchen table.

2. Carry on to the next open area, you will see lots of debris, barrels a car and a basketball hoop. Just after the hoop you will see a washing machine next to a small shack. Look inside to find the Intel on top of a barrel.

3. You will soon encounter a road heading up a hill. Fight your way past all the enemies and head towards the top. Go past the ice cream shop and look for a blue car on your right. Head inside the building on the right hand side and go upstairs. Look just to your left at the top of the stairs to find the Intel on a table.

4. Progress with your missing, carry on through the market and the houses. You will soon see the helicopter fly over head. You will enter another open area with a two soccer goals. Do not climb up on top of the building with Soap but head to the right, you will see a window being the soccer goal. Look inside the open window to collect this Intel.

Exodus

1. Clear out the houses on street and head towards the "Garden Villas" apartments. Head just past the sign and enter the main office. The Intel will be sitting on the reception table at the back of the room.

2. Move up from the apartments and you will see a big sign that read "Arcadia". On the right side of the security checkpoint you will find an office, head inside and look directly to your right to find the Intel.

3. Clear the checkpoint and follow the road down to a bridge. Cross over the bridge and enter the second house on your right. You need to head upstairs, turn to your left and collect the Intel located on a yellow couch.

The Only Easy Day…Was Yesterday

1. After breaching your first door you will head up two flights of stairs. As you get to the top of the second set you will enter a big room, instead of exiting this room look to your left and you will find the Intel on the shelving. If you are on your way to do the second breach you have gone to far.

2. Complete your second breach and C4 ambush. Once you have completed this task you will go through the gate that just opened, just to you right you will see a sparking electrical terminal. Head in the door next to this panel and collect the Intel off the shelf in front of you.

3. Destroy the helicopter and kill all the enemies in your area. If you head back into the warehouse room where you will find a Stinger to destroy the helicopter you will see a chain fence on the right side. If you look closely you will see a small light under the stairs behind this fence. Follow Soap and he will lead you to this area, head under the stairs and collect the Intel.

The Gulag

1. Follow the path you need to, just before you enter the prison you will see the area pictured below. Two guards will make a run for the stairs, head up the stairs and look for the right at the shadows.

2. Enter the security room, you will see a wall of monitors in front of you, head around them and look on a table behind. This one is fairly easy to miss as it's hidden behind the monitors.

3. Follow the path down to the armory. You will need to pick up the riot shield and progress on a little from here. Once you make it out of the armory head to your left and look for a blue light above a doorway. Once you go through this door enter the door on your right and collect the Intel from the desk.

4. Just after you rescue the prisoner you will be told to run. Before you do this turn to your left and look on a desk in the corner to collect the Intel.

Of Their Own Accord

1. Follow the trenches and prepare to storm the building. Once inside you will enter a huge room with a balcony. Clear out all the enemies, once everything is clear follow your captain. As you leave this area to enter the next you will see two elevator doors opening and closing on a dead soldier. Look inside the elevator to find the Intel next to another dead soldier.

2. Make your way through the building up to the fourth floor. Your objective will be to destroy a SAM with C4. Once you have done this move down to the flare and desks, a soldier will try to pick you off by blind firing while opening a door. Kill him and enter this doorway, just to your left will be a table and the Intel.

ACT 3

Contingency

1. Start the mission and head across the bridge, evade the enemy transport and follow captain Price. After the first patrol has passed you will come to a big pipe, you will stop and Price will ask if you want to take out the guards. There are three in total, shoot them and look just to the left of their bodies. You will see a crate with the Intel on top.

2. Continue on your path until you assault the base. As you enter you will see a building on your left with a big number 33 on the side. Enter this building and head towards the back, you will find the Intel on a workbench near a door.

3. The third laptop on this mission is located just opposite the helipad. While exiting building 33 you will see a set of stairs on your left as you head over to the comm center. Head up the stairs and look to your right in the corner, the Intel is located on top of a crate.

Whiskey Hotel

1. Head to the Oval Office, enter the office and wait for the soldier to open the door. You will be walking into a huge firefight so clear the two rooms. You will notice just as you exit the Oval Office on the left hand side there is a leather couch. Pick up the Intel as you progress onto the next section.

2. Push your way through the building, just before the end you will need to climb a set of stairs to set off your flare on the roof. At the top of the stairs you will go through a hole in the wall, as you enter on your right you will see the Intel on the table. Your team captain will break his flares in this room, if you have gone past this, you have gone too far.

Loose Ends

1. Breach through the front door of the house and head up stairs. Kill all the enemies and breach the door on your left. Clear this room out and run forward towards the window. The Intel is sitting on a desk.

2. Head down stairs and breach the door on the right, this will lead you to a small room and an armory. Enter the armory and look to your left, the Intel is right in front of you.

3. Breach the third door and kill all the enemies running from you. Once you have killed them run down the path all the way to the boating house. You will find a crate with the Intel right in front of you.

The Enemy of My Enemy

1. Start the level and go to your right, jump from the plane and head into the plane opposite. Look just to your left as you enter to find the Intel behind the pilots seat.

2. You're going to be progress through most of the mission to get to this next one. About half way through the mission you will enter a plane wreckage which you can snipe enemies from. Across from your position you will see a hill with several other broken plane parts. The next Intel is located in the front of a plane which you can see directly under the "Lot 36" sign. You need to make it up the hill and look inside the silver fuselage behind the pilots seat again.

Just Like Old Times

1. Once you have killed the guards and made your way down the cliff face you will enter the caves. Let the patrol pass and kill the guard smoking, before you follow Price head down the tunnel to the right of the guard you just killed. The Intel will be sat on top of a crate in front of you.

2. Progress on, you will go up a set of stairs where Price will kill the guard with a knife. Go down and clear all the enemies while the "breach and clear" is going on. Once the coast is clear head towards the exit, before exiting look to your left and you will see the Intel on a table. It's in a very dark area so look carefully.

3. Enter the second cave system and clear out all the enemies with riot shields. Progress onto the next open area, this will fill with smoke. Clear out all the enemies, once the coast is clear head into the tunnel just to the right of captain Price. You will see a few ammo crates/weapons. The Intel is sitting just in front of you next to a MG4.

4. Breach and clear the next room, you will find the Intel sitting on a table full of cans just to the left of captain Price.

Endgame

1. Head through the final part of the level, just before you jump in the boat look just to your left and you will see a crate with the final Intel.

I thought the whole point of the encyclopedia was to cut down on stickies? One of which was the intel locations...

Either way, these are good, although I could have sworn there was already two guides to the intel? Maybe I imagined it..

Another excellent job Fizzmatix, I must say, I do look forward to your collectable guides... High quality screenshots ftw! Keep it up dude.

There were other guides and this has now been added to the catalog thread. I started this when the game came out but had some technical issues.

The Tural's Gamercard
I guess taking the existing Intel thread, that multiple people spent time collecting locations, making videos, and taking pictures for, out of the Encyclopedia list is cool. I'm sure nobody cared about their work being thrown out anyways.

Is it really a problem to have them both listed, instead of just completely removing one to promote your own, while basically giving the finger to the other people who made one more than a month ago? It's really just a very arrogant-seeming thing to do. Effectively 'Mine's the best, get the other one out of here.' Completely disregarding the hours and days of work we put into the guide to have it ready before the very first day the game released, so people could do it right away when they got the game, and sticking yours on top of ours, weeks after.

If I sound annoyed, it's because I am. I don't like that I (And others who helped) spent the time making a guide (And videos, and pictures) a month ago, that it was fine, and then someone can come along, make a guide for the same information, and remove the only reference to the existing guide in order to place theirs in the spotlight, while completely refusing to even acknowledge the existence or work of others whom respectful people were thankful for the effort of. I have quite a bit of contempt for that selfish mentality.

Is the guide good? Yeah, and it provides an alternate look at the information. Does that mean the other one is not valid? Of course not. Keeping them both would be the sensible thing to do, since they provide different mediums of visual aid, and different sets of information which people can view. I don't see how this isn't how things are run, since more information for your users and help for the community should be at the forefront of your mind when doing something like this. When you have two sets of information that both provide a different perspective on something, maybe it should cross your mind that they're both useful, and that neither should be treated as vastly superior to the other, so much so that you would try to completely remove the former from the public eye.

Whatever. I'm just a bit disappointed that the time we spent is now being flushed and effectively making it so we wasted our time to get the information to people and help them, by saying we're not good enough for the sticky anymore. I guess that's just how things are done here, maybe I'm not accustomed to seeing that sort of thing happen when the goal should be to help people, not promote the fame of a single person. Suppose I'll be going now.

I hear ya Tural. That sounds like some shitty biz to me.

Anyways, I have beaten campaign, so can I just go into each mission and get the intel and exit the mission, or do I have to finish it?

What really matters is quality and in the end the guide that has the higher quality should be highlighted. I don't believe there is a point in having multiple versions of the same guide anyway.

Was there really any point in posting complaints about this?, I didn't decide to remove your link from the encyclopedia Pants did. If you have any issues with that take it up with him, i didn't ask him to replace the links he decided which guide to use.

Just for future reference you should have used the private message system rather than posting on here complaining. I'm not here to upset people, i'm here to help the community like many others. You will find in most forums there will be several guides for various things. As Purge mentioned the quality if what is important.

Anyhow, enough of the negativeness, far to many people complain about things on this forum that they shouldn't be complaining about.

Once you gather the intel you can immediately press start and save and exit or exit w/e the option is. You don't have to finished the mission or get to a checkpoint.

this is a great guide although i have a correction for you.... hope you dont mind.
just a slight alteration on the description is needed perhaps...

Once you have done this move down to the flare and desks, a soldier will try to pick you off by blind firing while opening a door. Kill him and enter this doorway, just to your left will be a table and the Intel.

just after i got this intel i went up another flight of stairs and heard one of my squad members say we were on the 5th floor... so this piece of intel is actually on the 4th floor just before you move upto 5th....

its not a big correction and i had no probs finding the intel from your description, just thought it needed to be made a bit clearer for some people

No harm to you Fizzmatix, and it is an excellent guide. However I think Tural's guide was one of the first in the internet, and gave everyone the means to collect intel easily when the game was released - a lot of effort on his part for finding these first, and to which helped me gain my 1000 achievement points.

To replace it so quickly is a slap in the face. I know you didn't replace it, but whoever did needs to explain why.... because that's not on.
