Dead Space Ultra Limited Edition

Hello Everyone!

I finally made the leap and scored a great deal on a sealed Dead Space Ultra Limited Edition!

Only 1000 of these were released and originally cost $150 back in 2008.

Now in 2013 these hard to find gems can run upwards in the $400-$500 range opened and a whopping $700-$800 range sealed.

I was lucky enough to buy a sealed copy for a lil over $600 on Ebay and was just stoked I finally got one!

Now for the hardcore Dead Space fan like myself, I don't think it's too horrible to spend that much on a game. lol

Please let me know what you think/opinions...I can take it.

The Ultra Rare Limited Edition includes
  • The Dead Space game
  • Special Ultra Limited Edition packaging
  • Dead Space Downfall Animated Movie (DVD)
  • Bonus content DVD
  • Exclusive custom lithograph art illustrated and signed by Ben Templesmith
  • 97-pg Dead Space art book written and illustrated by the development team
  • 160-pg Graphic novel
  • Ishimura crew patch

What a waste of money!

Only joking it looks like a sweet collectors item.

Big question, are you going to open it or keep it sealed for authenticity sake?

I'd like to know the answer as well! For a fan, such as you, it really depends on your fancy and how much you're willing to spend. So, it really doesn't matter what others think as long as you're happy

Personally, I think that's way too much for a game or CE - and even more unfathomable if you aren't going to open it..... If I were that big of a collector, I'd open it, but for display purposes only most likely.

Yea....I think it was too much as well but I've been watching multiple listings on Ebay and Amazon and figured if I don't jump on this specific one now, then I may not get a better chance. lol

As far as opening goes....I really don't think I want to open it. There's probably so few left that haven't been opened yet, I can only imagine the rarity and value this may go up to in the future.

unfortunately I'm super curious to know what # this one is. All 1000 were numbered but the only way to tell what you had was to open it. So there's always the possibility I may just give in to curiosity.

Also the seller supposedly worked for EA and was given this specific one a couple days before the official release. Can't confirm what he says is true but it could mean it's a lower numbered CE....maybe #1 lol

I'd be dying to know the #. That packaging wouldn't stand a chance if it was me.

I've given into temptation when it comes to collector's items before (back when I actually money to burn and no bills, anyway) but my cap was typically $400 even if it was something that I really, really wanted. Anything beyond that felt like too much of a gamble. It does feel nice when those big purchases double or triple in value, tho.

It seems nice. You'll probably appreciate it more and more as time goes on.

seems like a good deal to me. and i would be unable to keep it sealed. if it is 0001 im sure you would be able to rake it in if you ever sell, even if it is no longer sealed.
