I think the achievement list looks pretty good aside from that lazy 100g one for unlocking all the other ones.
The game itself should be pretty fun if you're a league fan.
Probably great fun with mates.
The graphics look pretty under par for 360 which isn't really surprising from this studio for the 4th time in a row lol.
It'll probably end up being a rent or borrow off a mate for me though.

New studio is at the helm. Makes it even more understandable for the graphics to be 'sub-par'. They've been working on the game for the past two years, with a focus on gameplay, so it should be decent.

It's understandable that the graphics won't be top notch, cos this doesn't have the budget of most sporting games like the EA games. We can only hope that lots of people will buy this game and then the next game will be better. Still an instant buy for me though

I think the achievements are crap.

Why is there achievements for knock ons, high tackles and losing? That's stupid.

Plus win 300 games could take a loooong time as well.

It certainly is weird having achievements for failing. i guess the game is being made in Victoria and their sport gives you a point for missing the goal. so i guess its Victorian nature.

respectfully tweeku the origins of the game featured a field that was four times the length of the current MCG

they did want some points scored. the original was also more a free-for-all rugby soccer clone featuring 'the Marquis of Queensberry's rules'

If it's like the first two Rugby League games then you should be able to have 2 and a half minute games so it should be a bit less painful than what it could have been...
Forcing knock-ons and high tackles shouldn't be a problem either lol. I guess they're meant to be consolation prizes.

Winning 300 games could take awhile. I'm still working on that one in Fifa 2007. But I suppose if you can make the halves really short, and the game really easy, then it wont be so bad. Try and play through the NRL and SL with several teams I guess. I wonder if you will be able to trade players and such in this?

Anyway, the one thing that could make the 300 game one a real chore is if the game is really broken...which is why I'm not even touching this until I hear its at least decent.

Thing is, people need to support the game no matter what so that hopefully someone like EA will make a rugby game as well. Wouldnt be too hard to tweak the Madden engine

I have 645 for this game so far. That is as much as I can get without putting in some serious hours into the game. I can see the "50 impact tackles" achievement being hard considering I have played for 5 hours and only managed to get 4... Many of the achievements can be unlocked by simulating games. You can select all the teams in the NRL and simulate every game in the season. It will take 5 - 10 minutes but you will definitely unlock quite a few achievements doing this. I unlocked the achievements which require you to finish at the top of the table and score the most points. I think I would have unlocked more but I had already obtained them by simulating and playing with 1 team during a season. The achievements that require you to win and lose the final require you to play the match (I played all the finals matches just to be sure). Also the State of origin matches must be played within the NRL season. You can't just select State of origin from the tournament menu.

I am sure someone will make a guide for this once it is released in Australia and the UK. Hopefully the above helps a few people out when they first get the game.

The game is fun to play, but is fairly dodgy when you think about it.

I tried this on an in-store demo...it felt almost exactly the same as the first 2 games. Not really any improvement. Not a fan. So it'll just be a rent if that for me lol.
