Gamestop 7 Day Return

I have a game I bought from GS, but I don't want it any more.

Only problem is I removed the pre owned sticker off the case.

I was wondering can I still return it if I have my receipt.

You're good to go as long as you have the receipt. The game you trade it for, you will have to keep.

About the return policy, if you buy a used game you have 7 days to return it, so can you keep doing that as long as it's still in the 7 day time frame? Just curious.

My bad should have said used games. They have a used games policy of 7 days for a return. So its like as long as I keep bring the next game back in under 7 days do I get to keep doing that, like a loophole in their policy. Because it doesn't clarify in the terms on the receipt.

I think this answers that:

It is a one and done situation, unless it is a disc playability issue. Then they will keep trading them in, assuming when they check the disc (after the second time they will check it) and it does not play.

I had 4 copies of Gears of War from one store. They kept not reading the disc, even though my other copy of the game and every other game I had played perfectly fine.

It was the craziest thing. We finally got it worked out.

If it was, in fact, a pre owned game then the receipt will reflect that. You have 7 days to return it back to the store for either your money back or full store credit.

There is a loophole in the gamestop 7 day return policy that is best utilized if you have TWO gamestops relatively near you. I've been doing this for about 2 months now... gone through a TON of games.

Buy a used game from gamestop (preferably a high priced one like around 55$). Play it/beat it in 7 days and return to gamestop, and swap it out for a used game of the same value. Remember to keep your receipts always. Take the 2nd game back within 7 days and since they would make you keep the next one.. just ask for the credit of the game on a gift card. Then take said gift card to gamestop #2 and repeat the process! Hope this helps

I am an ex-GameStop assistant manager. You can return any used game within 7 days with receipt for store credit, the same game, or cash. You can do this as many times as you want. There is NO, I repeat, NO policy that restricts how many times you can do this. If anyone says "Well you've already returned a game once." So the fuck what....ask to speak to the manager and ask him to show you on the receipt where it says you cant return two different games. I doesn't say. They will try to say something that sounds like bullshit, but ultimately they will have to swap it. If they cause a fuss ask for the District Managers contact info, make sure you call him/her and explain you are not satisfied with your purchase. 99% of the time they will handle your return and you will NEVER have another problem. Also, FYI, this also works with ANY accesories. They can override anything they want in the system, just get past the minimum wage employee. I hate GameStop, it was one of the worst, most stressful, bullshit jobs I have ever had. Also, don't fall for the "Oh if you get the Edge card you will only pay $4.00 today!" No, no, no, and no. You are paying the entire $14.99. They take the $10 out of your trade in credit. So unless you traded in $150.00 worth of trade ins don't fall for it. The employee's push Edge card subscriptions, reserves, and insurances because thats how they get their hours, nothing else. Most employees dont give a shit, but the managers do. Its thier viagra.

Also, accessories do not have serial numbers. So if you have a broken controller, goto GameStop, buy you another, then swap them and take the broken one back. Say its broke and you purchased one from a different gamestop and would like your money back. As long as you have your receipt your golden.

You sir are a god amongst men. So I was right that's the argument I was going to use against them. So I guess that it will work, so when I get some scratch. Now onward to gamestop. Muhahahahahaha

Dang, you must have worked with some shitty people to sound so intense in your posting.

This dude is 100% correct, though. The boyfriend works at Gamestop and they never give people a hard time about returning their used games for another.
For one little boy who is a regular there, it's like his rental service.

If you live in an area with multiple Gamestops, try to find the one with the least amount of douchey people.
Not everyone is an asshat.

Well thank you. For that I am going to share two more tricks!!!!

1. Every once in awhile GameStop runs a Buy 2 Get 1 Free promotion. Its because business is slow OR they have an over abundance of PS2 games or whatever. It is used to dump old used stock, however you can take advantage of this oppertunity. Go into the store and pick out a game you really want, if the game is $44.99 then pick up two games that are $54.99. The computer automaticaly makes the cheapest one free. The game you are going to keep needs to be the cheapest. If you are going for a $54.99 then pick out three that you want because it will choose one at random. Of course you need the cash to start with but don't worry you will get it back. Purchase the 3 games with CASH! Very important you don't use store credit or edge card (don't even use your discount). Now, goto a different GameStop, or if you don't have another to choose from wait a few hours than return to GameStop. Return the two that you paid for, and keep the free one (leave it with a friend, in your purse, in your car etc)...bring a black sharpie with you and before doing this mark out the free one. Mark it out well enough so they cant even see the title or the price. Hopefully you get a different employee than the one that checked you out, if they cause a fuss then just goto a different GameStop or come back the next day. 99% of the time they dont care and will refund you for the two games, meaning you got a free game! The reason you mark the free one out with a sharpie is because some managers wont let you return the ones you paid for without the free one, however if it appears you paid for all three.....catch the drift?

2. Ok, we've all been in GameStop when they are running extra 25% for reserving this, 50% extra trade in credit TODAY ONLY!, and 10% extra with Edge card etc etc. Sometimes we want to take advantage of this but theres nothing interesting coming out. This will work 1000000% of the time because employees get a woodie when you mention a reserve. Now, take games you want to trade in during this once in your lifetime event that they will have again in a month, and make sure to ask 'Whats the Power Trade?" They will say "Oh if you reserve Ninja Fuck Your Face 2 you get an extra 25%." Make sure you reserve that game. Now, heres the important part. Make sure all of it goes onto reserves. Not a penny onto a card. ALL on reserves. If you manage to trade in more than $60 worth with the trade promotions reserve another game and watch the orgy commence. Now, come back the next day. Say that you want to cancel your reserves because you are moving. PRESTO!!! Two things will happen. A. They will give you cash back, or
B. They will give it to you on an Edge Card. Either way ASK FOR CASH. 90% of the time the employee is retared and will give you cash value for the trade credit. Sometimes you will get a smart one and they will tell you they cant give you cash BUT THEY CAN! Tell them to hit F5!! Lol. Anyways the point is you get the extra 65% or whatever so when you goto reserve Halo Reach or Gears of War 3 you have that extra $20-30 you didnt before. Enjoy the free upgrade to Collectors Edition. Cheers!

And for that you get Tip #3!
Keep in mind that games do not have serial numbers and you can do the same thing with games as you can with accessories. Say you really love your copy of Battlefield Bad Co. 2 and play it every night. Then your little brother gets ahold of it and scratches it. You dont have the receipt, as a matter of fact you bought it outa some guys trunk or off Craigslist. No matter, go into GameStop and buy a used copy of BBC2. Swap the games and the next day take it the hacked up one back and with receipt in hand ask for your money back. WALLA!
