I went it with a level 35 warrior with about 250 health potions and just bashed its head in for about 15 minutes. Sometimes its the simple things that work the best. Me and my team only used about 60-70 potions.

Just tried it using your strategy and encountered two problems.
1st: during 2nd stage, the Harvester no longer follows me, though I still have that follow-skill active
2nd: during second stage, the skeletons hit me every time, while I wasnt hit at all during first stage!

I actually got the chevo earlier today after 4-5 tries (guess I got lucky lol)
I was a 34 dual-wield Rogue (Bard/Assassin/Duelist) 50 Dex to get the nifty talents, 80+ cunning
Roses thorn with 6 fire/5 ice/5 electric & Duncan's sword with 10% spell resistance and 8 darkspawn damage
Felons coat with 4 const/2 armour and 15% resistance to all elements (everything else was found in Awakening and was useful enough to replace what I was wearing in Origins)
Key to the City, spellward and 2 other items picked up in Awakenings.
I just pounded on the boss for his first form, used weapon coatings, acid grenades and whatever buffs gave me more damage. This was the easy part...
T'was the skeleton horde who presented the trouble during the second boss fight, seeing as several of them were at boss level, afew others were elites. First few times they merced my team just leaving me running round, activating stealth to keep myself alive to try and figure out how to even kill ONE of these bastardos (had unreal dex levels and even my super-rogue kept missing)
I then managed to keep 3 teamates alive long enough to finish off the skeletons, the golem then came back to life and I had the ability to save (thank the Maker!) even though the fight was technically still going. The 4 of us then just closed in and pounded on it til it died.
Thats my 1750 finally achieved!
