According to the Halo: Reach Legendary Edition Developer Commentary, Jun is still alive.

He escorted Halsey to CASTLE base. That's as far as I know about the subject, and I never expected him to be the...well, last.

I like how there's alot of these threads popping up.

Didn't you play the game? He escorted Halsey to safety.
Not all Spartans need to be Missing in Action.

Really? Ever use a sniper in the game? They are the ones that always live the longest.

I kinda think they do. In the Halo trilogy, a story that existed before Reach events, master chief was always supposed to be the last living spartan... I'm under the impression there were more unaccounted for and lost but I'm pretty sure Bungie made up the whole Jun possibly being alive thing for this game. Obviously in Halo CE Jun was not alive in their minds because the character didn't even exist yet

Yeah quite a few are actually still alive, if you read the books you can find out about them. Fred still remains as my favourite overall Spartan.

Um if you didn't know, Reach takes place before the halo trilogy. So when halo CE happens in the storyline chronology, noble squad has already died, well all except jun. Why do you think in the pillar of autumn you were transporting cortana? Cuz she and master chief hadnt met yet

What he was trying to say if you read the whole post was that the Halo Trilogy was CREATED before bungie even had the concept of Reach, not sure it applies to 2 and 3 but it must do for CE. So that it would be impossible for him to appear in the 3 games as Reach, in the context of idea hadn't had happened yet. Therefore supporting his last sentence, they couldn't have featured Jun in CE forward even if they wanted to because i doubdt bungie thought The Halo Universe would be so expansive.

Ok then, Cortana and the Chief had already met before the end of reach (when you drop the package off). August 29, 2542, Epsilon Eridani System, UNSC Military Reservation, Planet reach. The chief was going through a pretty dam hard exercise. Him and Cortana work as a team together to accomplish the course.

"The Fall Of Reach" was written in 2001 I believe. The same year Halo: CE came out. After the explosive success of Halo 1, the universe within the game started to expand exponentially and before Halo 2 came out there was 3 books and a crazy amount of information and backstory.

I actually just double checked, Fall Of Reach was written and published on October 30th, 2001. And Halo: CE came out November 15th, 2001. So technically Reach was known two weeks before the video game series began :P
