Overall Achievement Summary
Overall the achievements in the game are pretty easy. More importantly, most of the achievements will come naturally just by playing the game. You will need to find a lot of collectibles but the videos below will walk you through that. The trials are probably the hardest part of the game but there are only a handful that are actually tough, and even those can be beat after a few tries.

The Game Plan
At a minimum you will need to complete each level 2 times. For each level you will need to beat it on Paladin difficulty, complete the trial and find all weapon upgrades and gems (if any). In order to unlock Paladin difficulty and the trial you need to complete the level once on any difficulty. You can complete the game on Squire (easy) and it will still unlock the trials and Paladin difficulty. I recommend starting on Knight, this will better prepare you for your Paladin playthrough. To be honest, this game may seem hard at first but once you get the controls down and get a few upgrades its really not hard at all. See the quick tips section below for some tips that may make this game a bit easier.

If you decide to start on Squire or Knight it really doesn't matter. On your first playthrough use the videos below to find all of the gems and weapon upgrades, this will make life easier as you build your health and magic. Some of weapon upgrades you can't get until you have unlocked a certain relic. Don't worry about going back for these until your second playthrough. With your first playthrough complete you can now go through and start playing again on Paladin and collecting your remaining upgrades. As your doing this you will also want to complete the trials for each level at the same time. Some trials are a lot easier on Squire, so if your having a really hard time with a certain trial just skip it and come back later on a lower difficulty. I mention in each level's trial section if it's a lot easier on squire. Most of the levels are really short, after beating them once you can run through most levels in 5-10 minutes.

Quick Tips before you start
Go into Extras > Combat Display. You should at least turn on Enemies Health Bar and Gabriels Combat Damage. These will help you to pick what attacks and combos you like based off the damage they do.

Unlimited Health:
If you learn how to use your focus properly you can build your health back almost at will. The key is to build your focus by using combos. Combos build your focus A LOT quicker than just using regular attacks. Find 1 or 2 combos you like and master them, use them as your go to move when you need to build your focus. If your still struggling buy "Landslide Punch" under Relic Powers (Jump in the air and hold LT + X or the other combo LT + Y). You can spam this over and over. This may be helpful on Paladin to help you through the harder parts..

Blocking:
Blocking is another good way to quickly build your focus, especially on bosses. I usually only block when there isn't enough enemies around to build my focus.

General Attacks:
I generally use X attacks. I will attack until the enemy is about to attack, then roll away to evade their attacks and come back with my own counter attacks. I use this method throughout the entire game. I very rarely block, except on some bosses to build my focus.

Combos:
As stated before the "Landslide Punch" is pretty good. I used the rising strike (X+A) followed by X+X+X+X+hold X (Guillotine) while in the air. If done correctly you will knock smaller enemies up in the air, beat them in the air, and unleash a powerful attack after you land. This works well on bosses, even though you don't knock them into the air. I also really like the "Direct Heavy Combo" maxed out. Hold X +X x9. This is quick and easy to do and does good damage.

Fountains:
Life fountains will become active again after awhile. Magic fountain can be used multiple times as well. Use this to your advantage and go back to these as many times as you need. You can also spam your magic attacks if you know a fountain is nearby. A lot of times you can go back pretty far through levels.

Chapter I – gem & upgrade locations, trials & tips

Besieged Village
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Relic – Daggers
  • No gems or upgrades

Level Summary/Tips:
This is a really short level, basically just an introduction to the combat controls. At the end you will fight the Great Warg. Just keep rolling away when he attacks and countering with your own attacks when he misses. Once you beat him up a bit he will retreat to ledge above. Once his eyes glow a bright red hold RT to pick up the large wooden pole. If timed correctly he will impale himself on it as he jumps towards you.

Trial:
Finish the level, defeating the Great Warg with at least one surviving villager
You start out with 3 villagers. You can not kill them yourself so don’t worry about accidently hitting them. Just kill everything as quickly as possible. Use your daggers to kill the small enemies and try to keep the Great Warg away from the villagers.

Hunting Path
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Life Gem (1/30): After you get knocked off your horse move towards the screen and look to the left
  • Relic: Life Gem Medallion

Level Summary/Tips:
This is another really short one. You will have to ride on a horse and kill a couple of Wargs. Just use X to hit them until they flash white, then hit RT to mount them. After beating another Warg on foot the chapter will end.

Trial:
Finish the level without being healed by any means
There is 1 Life Gem and 1 health fountain on this level. Do not pick up the gem, use the fountain, or heal yourself with your light magic and you will pass this trial after beating the Warg on foot.

The Dead Bog
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Life Gem (2/30): At the very beginning, down the path a bit on the left, search the body.
  • Life Gem (3/30): After your first fight, take the path to the right. You will walk through some mud and go up a slight hill. After a small drop off (the camera will shift a bit), turn around and find a cave, there is a body inside.
  • Life Gem (4/30): From the last gem, keep going and follow the curve around into the swap. Now heading back towards the start of the chapter, you will see an island with a body on it.
  • Relic: Hook Tip
  • Weapon Upgrade – carry more daggers: Directly after you kill the boss you will see a chest that is glowing blue.
  • Life Gem (5/30): A bit after killing the boss, head down the stairs and jump to the first platform. Before repelling down climb over and down and you will see the body. If you got all of them up to this point you will get a health bonus.

Level Summary/Tips:
You will make your way through the level killing Goblins and avoiding their bombs until you reach where you fight another new creature, the large Swamp Troll. It will grab statues from the ground and try to either hit you with it or smash it on the ground. If it smashes the statue on the ground, jump to avoid taking damage. Otherwise just roll to avoid his attacks and counter with your own. Once you have its health down, hit RT to start a button sequence. The sequence is as follows (tap A when the circles line up x 4 then a random rapid button press). After defeating the troll you will enter a small part where you jump across several islands, the chapter will end once you reach the other side.

Trial:
Finish the level after killing at least 50 Goblins
Soon after the start of the level, you will come to a part where you have to use the bombs the Goblins throw at you to blow up a tree on the right. You will use this tree as a bridge. Stay in this area and kill Goblins until you reach 50 (they will keep spawning). If you happen to die in this area while trying to get to 50, your kills will reset when you reload the checkpoint.

Pan’s Temple
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Life Gem (6/30): After lighting up the 2nd ruin, to the right of a stone skull head, down the path beside the 3rd ruin.
  • Weapon Upgrade – carry more holy water: Left side after going through a huge gap, on a ledge before the door you unlock. ***requires seraph shoulders***

Level Summary/Tips:
In this level you will need to search the forest for 5 runes. These runes have a pattern on them that you will need to unlock a door blocking your path. Just match the slots with the runes you have found and the door will unlock. The correct runes are: Slot 1 = X+3, Slot 2 = X+2, Slot 3 = X+1, Slot 3 = X+3, Slot 5 = X+1. After opening the door the path will lead to Pan’s trial, see the trial below for the correct movements.

Trial:
Finish the level after beating Pan’s trial in 5 movements
All clockwise movements (RT): outer, inner, outer, middle, inner

Oblivion Lake
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Life Gem (7/30): At the start go straight, you will see the body to the left of the statue right before the lake.
  • Relic: Light Magic Medallion

Level Summary/Tips:
The Ice Titan seems hard at first but once you figure what you need to do, this is a pretty simple battle. At the very beginning start running towards him. Dodge his first attack and then wait for him to pound his fist into the ice. After doing this a couple times his fist will stay in the ice, you will be able to run up to him and grapple up (RT). From make your way climbing all over his body finding your way to each of his weak spots. Use B to melee the spots until they break, then move on to the next one. Below is a video that shows how to quickly beat him.

Trial:
Finish the level and defeat the Ice Titan in less than 1:30 minutes
In order to make this time you have to have a Dark Crystal. Use it and his weak spots will be destroyed with 1 hit. Make sure to use B while climbing to jump sideways and make climbing faster. If you fall off or fail the trial use the world map to re-select the level before beating the boss so you don’t lose your Dark Crystal.

Chapter II – gem & upgrade locations, trials & tips

Enchanted Forest
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Weapon Upgrade – carry more daggers: From the start drop down until you reach the water, then go in a cave behind the water fall ***requires shadow magic***
  • Light Gem (1/30): After reaching the ruins, take the path to the right. The body will be laying in the water under a large tree, near the end of the path.

Level Summary/Tips:
This level is very basic, no bosses or puzzles. You will fight only small enemies but the trolls at the end will throw grenades at you. You can grab them with RT and throw them.

Trial:
Finish the level after killing 30 Goblins with their own grenades
When you get to the part with the large stone rock, you will have to use the grenades thrown by the enemies to blow up the rock. Grab the troll with RT and push up on the left stick and X when to plant their grenade on them. You can get all 30 kills here as the enemies will keep spawning until you blow up the door and go through it.

Underground Caves
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Relic: Spiked Chain
  • Light Gem (2/30): After finding both keys to open the door and getting the spiked chain relic, head back towards the beginning and saw the wooden totem on with the spiked chain.

Level Summary/Tips:
In this level you will face a couple giant spiders. They can spit web at you and also bite you which poisons you for a short bit or until you use your light magic. Just keep rolling and countering its attacks with your combos and you shouldn’t have any problems. You will also need to find to stone keys to unlock a door. Both keys can be found by heading through the left path after the 2nd spider fight.

Trial:
Finish the level after killing at least 10 enemies while poisoned by Spider venom

Don’t even bother trying this on Paladin, its so much easier on Squire. You will want to do this at the 2nd spider fight. Do kill any of the Lycans as they do not infinitely respawn. First get yourself poisoned by letting the spider jump at you. If he pins you to the ground or spits his web on you don’t tap your button to get and you will get poisoned also. Once poisoned just throw knives as quickly as possible at the Lycan. If you don’t have knives you can kill them with your whip, knives are just faster. DO NOT kill the spider, once all the Lycan are dead head down one of the caves until you see that the game is auto-saving. Then restart from your last checkpoint and you will still have all your kills. Head back to the spider and repeat until you have 10 kills.

Labyrinth Entrance
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Light Gem (3/30): After repelling up the castle wall, as soon as you cross over the wood beams, take the stairs on the right down
  • Weapon Upgrade – carry more fairies: After rotating a lever to open a door, go down the path and inside a building, break a wall to the right ***requires cyclone boots***

Level Summary/Tips:
Not to much of a challenge on this level. At the beginning you will have to mount a hog and run into a door to break it down. You work your way through some ruins to come to another door. Here you will have to kill some smaller enemies to get the lever to open the door.

Trial:
Finish the level after killing at least 5 Warthogs
This can be done at the very beginning. Just don’t break the door and after killing each hog a new one will spawn. This can be some what difficult on Paladin because you have to kill all 5 in a row without dying. He really only has one attack and its a charge attack. Just dodge out of the way and this will give you 4-5 seconds to unleash whatever combo you like. This will help build your focus so you can regain health if you need to. After killing the 4th hog mount the 5th and break down the door, then kill off the 5th hog.

Waterfalls of Agharta
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Light Gem (4/30): Stun the giant spider at the beginning, pull down the tree and finish off the spider LT+RT and it will drop the gem. Hold RT to pick it up.
  • Light Gem (5/30): After using the troll to knock down the rock, head down the right path. Its behind a waterfall.
  • Relic: Shadow Magic Medallion

Level Summary/Tips:
At the start of this level you will need to mount a giant spider. Once mounted shoot your web (press Y) at the tree to pull it down. Later in the level you will have to mount a troll and destroy a rock to cross a gap. After using a spider to create a bridge you will need to work your way through a climbing/hook session to make it to the end.

Trial:
Finish the level after killing at least 20 Small Trolls while you are mounted on a big one
After a cutscene you will start of being strangled by a large troll. This is where you can get this trial. Get out of his strangle and start whooping the troll. He will smash the ground causing you damage if standing close by. Use your jump combos to wear him down. Once you have him mounted DO NOT break the large stone until you have 20 kills. Breaking the stone will stop the small trolls from spawning.

Agharta
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Shadow Gem (1/30): After using the giant beast to cross the first gap, turn left through the archway and then an immediate right to find a body laying in a small room.
  • Weapon Upgrade – more daggers: After using the giant beast to cross the first gap, on the right, move the statue ***requires dark gauntlet***
  • Life Gem (8/30): After jumping another gap you will be faced with some trolls. Before using the troll to break open a door. Head around this area and up some stairs on the right. Drop down to a hidden area.
  • Shadow Gem (2/30): After using the 2nd beast to jump a gap, there is a small opening on the right just before the 2nd jump.

Level Summary/Tips:
Towards the beginning of this level you will need to stun a large Troll to jump across a couple gaps, unless you have already unlocked double jump. Shortly after this you will need to stun another Troll to break down a gate. After using the 2 trolls you will need to take control over a Warg and cross over a few bridges and then use it to climbs some vines.

Trial:
Finish the level without using Shadow Magic energy
Simply DO NOT press RB during the entire level.

Dark Dungeon
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Light Gem (6/30): At the start of the level, when you reach the platform, jump across and shimmy until you reach the repel part. Instead of dropping all the way down, go down a couple times then hit X to jump away from the wall and tap A to jump backwards towards a ledge. The gem will be on a ledge off to the left after repelling again.
  • Shadow Gem (3/30): Just after getting the first key, jump up a ledge on the right.
  • Shadow Gem (4/30): After getting the 2nd key and crossing the bridge. Repel up and then shimmy to the far left. Jump to the left (not backwards) and drop down.

Level Summary/Tips:
The beginning of this level starts with a bit of climbing. You will eventually work your way to the bottom. Once inside the cave you will need to go left and get 1 of the 2 keys. The first key is on a dead body at the end of the path. Head back and use your one key, this opens another path on the right where you will find a door and a giant spider. Stun the spider and use him to open the door and retrieve the second key.

Trial:
Finish the level without using a grip attack against a single Gremlin
Just don’t use RT and do any kind of grip attack on an enemy. You can actually just run away from almost all of the Gremlins if you want.

Sanctuary Entrance
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Light Gem (7/30): After repelling up walk towards the screen
  • Shadow Gem (5/30): On your way to the 2nd shard, jump up to a ledge at the end of the red wall you shimmy across.
  • weapon upgrade – carry more daggers: To the right of the 2nd shard, use the crank ***requires stake***
  • Relic: Dark Crystal

Level Summary/Tips:
You will need to find 4 crystal shards. #1 – To the left after jumping over a gap near the start, #2 – Near the health station, #3 – To the left after killing some Lykan and pulling yourself to a ledge, #4 – By the troll u need to ride to smash a stone statue. Once you have a complete crystal insert it into the statue near where you started. Then take it out and put it into one in the other room. You will need to align the light from the statues to make it shine on the door.

Trial:
Finish the level after absorbing 20 Neutral Elemental Orbs simultaneously
This may take a couple tries to get. You will want to try this on the troll that you need to stun in order to smash a rock statue in your way. Just keep hitting him without getting hit. Use your combos to quickly build your focus meter. Absorb if you think you have it because they will disappear pretty quickly. After you stun the troll just keep hitting and don’t bother taking his back. If you mess just restart the checkpoint, you will restart right there.

Sanctuary of Titans
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Shadow Gem (6/30): Run past the Titan to the far end and you should see it on the left edge

Level Summary/Tips:
You will have to face the giant Stone Idol Titan in this level. If your having problems see the trial tips below.

Trial:
Finish the level and defeat the Stone Idol Titan in less than 2 minutes
You will need a dark crystal (if you need one play chapter 6-4). As soon the the level begins use your dark crystal. This will weaken all the hit spots to one hit. Now stay far back so the Titan will throw a rock at you. Grab it with RT and do a circular motion with the right stick to throw it. Once down run towards it and grab on. You will need to work your way up and then grab a spot to the left. Now work your way down to the first hit spot. Use X to destroy it with one hit and quickly drop down to avoid the Titan’s hand coming at you. Grab the Titan hand and work your way to the next week spot. Drop down after destroying this one to avoid getting knocked off. Once you grab the Titan’s hand it will punch into the ground knocking you off. Quickly get back on and work you way up to the next hit point. After Destroying it quickly jump up twice, grab the platform spinning around and then grab towards the last hit point. The timer will stop after hit the last point. After this you will need to catch the dark crystal thrown to you with 1 button press.

Warning: If you have less than 45 seconds on the timer and you are past the 2nd hit spot don’t restart from checkpoint. Use the world map so you don’t lose your dark crystal.

The Black Knight
  • Collectibles Text:
  • * NO Gems or Weapon upgrades
  • Relic: Dark Gauntlet

Level Summary/Tips:
The last level of chapter 2. You will face off with the Dark Knight. He is big but really slow. Use this to your advantage and just keep moving around him. You will need to beat him down a bit and then use RT to grab him. All of this bosses “mini games” are just fast button presses, there are none of the circle ones. About halfway through this fight he will start to release some black gew that grabs you and holds you in place for a couple seconds. This stuff can be destroyed by quickly doing a strong attack on the ground.

Trial:
Finish the level and defeat the Black Knight Golem without using Light Magic energy
Just don’t hit RB and you will get this trial. This is a pretty tough battle on Paladin so it may be quicker to just replay the level Squire. On Paladin you will die in about 3 hits so just keep moving and using your combos to build your Dark Magic. I found that jumping attacks worked really well. When you get to the part where he starts releasing the black gew, use a quick combo to kill the gew and it build your dark magic pretty quickly. You can die as many times as you want just don’t hit RB and your good to go.

Chapter III – gem & upgrade locations, trials & tips

The Three Towers
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Weapon Upgrade – carry more fairies: On the last island of the jumping section ***requires sprint***
  • Relic: Fairies
  • Shadow Gem (7/30): After jumping across the island, straight just inside the temple door that opens after fighting some enemies.
  • Light Gem (8/30): In the same room, go up the ledge on the left, use your hook to clear the gap outside.
  • Shadow Gem (8/30): After using the beast to climb the vines, first room on the right.
  • Life Gem (9/30): After using your hook a couple times, and climbing up near the top by a fairy, to your right.
  • Shadow Gem (9/30): While repelling down the third tower right after getting a fairy, climb through a hole in the tower wall.

Level Summary/Tips:
This level is pretty basic. At the beginning you will need to move a large rock statue by using your dark magic and punching it. RB and then hold LT + X. You will make your way through a series of jump and eventually come across a lever. Once you rotate the lever and go through the now raised gates you will need to collect 3 fairies to unlock the door.

Go to the left of the locked door and take control of the large Lycan. Use it to go all the way right and up some vines. You will come across a giant rotating head. First use the 2 hooks to reach the top of the structure and your first fairy. Now activate the 3 runes, the order is Light, Dark, Dark magic, this will rotate the giant head. Use the series of hooks here to get to the next area. From here you will find a lever laying on the ground. You will need to use this lever in 2 spots in this area to reach the last 2 fairies. If you happen to use a fairy just head to one of the previous spots, the fairies will respawn. You will need to grab the wall near the lever back at the beginning and hope through a window to reach the door to unlock.

Trial:
Finish the level after killing 15 enemies while they are dazed by Fairies

The Dark Lord of the Lycans
  • Collectibles Text:
  • * NO Gems or Weapon Upgrades
  • Relic: Cyclone Boots

Level Summary/Tips:
This fight will happen in 3 stages. In each stage The Dark Lord will regain his health. I prefer to stay close to him and just keep rolling to dodge his slash attacks. He will do a pound attack so keep an eye out for that. If you see it coming jump instead of roll. Blocking his blockable attacks will fill your focus. Use this to keep your magic up.
In stage 3 you will need to knock down the pillars on the outside. Do not bother engaging the enemy. Each pilar gets increasingly harder to break.

Trial:
Finish the level and defeat the Dark Lord without using Light Magic energy
Do not push RB at all during the fight, if you do restart your checkpoint. This fight is much easier on lower difficulties but if you are on your Paladin run I like the above method. Get your blocks down so you always have dark energy and just unleash on him. Roll to avoid the slashes and charge attacks. Jump to avoid is pound attack. Throwing holy water at the pillars is a good way to quickly destroy them. 3 are 3 checkpoints so try to keep your health up at least until the checkpoint.

Chapter IV – gem & upgrade locations, trials & tips

Mountain Fortress
  • Collectibles Text:
  • life Gem (10/30): After using shadow magic to break a door near the beginning, take the path to the right
  • Shadow Gem (10/30): Shortly after the last one you will need to use Sprint to clear a large gap. After jumping across break the stone wall on the right by using shadow magic + Hold LT + Left stick ->
  • Light Gem (9/30): Right after the last gem, use the hook but pull yourself up instead of jumping the gap. Now use the 2nd hook to make it to a higher ledge.
  • Light Gem (10/30): After beating the giant orge but BEFORE using your hook to get over a wall, hold LT + X to move a black statue that is blocking a small door way.
  • Weapon Upgrade – more fairies: After defeating the Ogre but before using the hook to jump over a wall, use the switch to open the gate ***requires stake***

Level Summary/Tips:
Start this level by using dark magic to bash the door, then drop down and go around the middle part. Use your sprint or double jump to clear the gap. Then work your way up the mountain towards the castle and the giant orge. See the tips below for beating the orge.

After beating the orge and using the beast to break down a door you will come across a Chupacabra that steals your stuff. Head back down the stairs and then up some rock ledges on the side. You will need to make a few climbs up to find him on a platform above and get your stuff back. Use your dark magic and smash through the door at the top of the stairs to end this level.

Trial:
Finish the level and defeat the Ogre without being hit by his attacks
The first part where you can get hit is when his hand comes out. At any point you get hit restart from your checkpoint right away. His hand will slap the ground a few times, make a fist and then reach out to grab you. Just stay back and hit his hand after it reaches for you, follow the hand as it pulls away and get a quick combo in. Then back up out his reach. Keep doing this until he pulls back. Then QUICKLY jump to the hook or he will grab you. Once you reach the other side you will hit a checkpoint.

For the next part just run back and forth, keep moving in one direction and he will miss his pound attack. Then quickly get in 3-4 hits and move in the other direction until he misses again. Just keep doing this until he pulls back and makes a growling sound. Now he is going to pound the ground, you need to be in the air when he pounds and a couple seconds after to avoid the shock wave. So do a double jump and hit X a few more times to stay airborne. Then grab his fist with RB and make a timed button press to attack his eye. You will get another checkpoint after this.

The next part is basically the same except he will grab a rock and use that to pound the ground. When he does this you will need to jump to avoid the shock wave. Then attack the rock to break it. Don’t forget to jump when he slams his fist down and then grab it for another button press sequence.

In the final part of this fight the orge will start try to smell you. Run over to the left side and wait. When he roars sprint all the way right, when you reach the end turn around and sprint back. You may need to throw a jump in there depending on his attacks. You will have to dodge 4-5 attacks and then you will be able to grab his face and do the final timed button presses.

The Crow Witch
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Light Gem (11/30): At the start of the level run up to the top of the stairs
  • Shadow Gem (11/30): At the start of the level go out the window, then drop down the cliff and jump over and down to another ledge. Use your hook to swing over near a cave.
  • Weapon Upgrade – more holy water: After your 2nd set of 3 swordmasters run up the stairs and double jump across the gap ***requires sprint and seraph shoulders***
  • Life Gem (11/30): This is on the top floor of the tower you fight the swordmasters in. Its right beside the yellow neutral fountain, outside on a balcony before climbing on the outside of the building.

Level Summary/Tips:
Head out the window and scale the outside of the building. Break through the window near the top and take care of the swordmasters inside. Keep working your way up through the building.

Once you finally make it to the boss you will need to throw its eggs back at it so you can stun it and run up to it and grab it. To grab the eggs just keep quickly tapping RT and spinning your left stick. You want to get as many eggs as possible in one round. Once stunned run up and grab it, then you will need to rapid tap a button during the cutscene. While the crow is down run up to it and unleash a combo. Just repeat this a couple times until you can grab its head while down.

Trial:
Finish the level and defeat the Crow Witch without killing more than 2 of her sons
The key to this is throwing as many eggs as possible each time. Like stated above, as soon as the crow starts to throw one egg rapidly tap RT and spin the left stick, keep doing this non-stop until your sure you can’t throw any more eggs. If done correctly you can throw 3 eggs very quickly.

Chapter V – gem & upgrade locations, trials & tips

Veros Woods
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Life Gem (12/30): Just after your first fight use shadow magic on the right
  • Shadow Gem (12/30): From the first Snow Goblin camp stay right down the paths and destroy the wall on the right. You will need to come back here after you get your weapons back.
  • Life Gem (13/30): From the first Snow Goblin camp go right but then make a left to find another wall to break. You will need to come back here after you get your weapons back.

Level Summary/Tips:
At the beginning of this level your items will get stolen by a Chupacabra. See the trials tips below on how to get your stuff back.

Trial:
Finish the level, recovering your relics from the Chupacabras in less than 3 minutes since stolen
After the cutscene when your stuff gets stolen, run straight back towards a door. Press RT on the door and wait for a warthog to come. Quickly stun the warthog and use him to break down the door.
Go through the door and jump up on a ledge to the right. Shimmy around to the front of the ledge and pull yourself up. Use a fairy to distract the Chupacabra while you jump across to him. Now just finish the level

Wygol Village
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Weapon Upgrade – more holy water: At the very start walk forward a bit and up the stairs on the right. Then break the wall. ***requires seraph shoulders***
  • Shadow Gem (13/30): In the cemetery, on the right near a large door of a building.
  • Relic: Stake

Level Summary/Tips:
At the start of the level you will need to kill all the ghouls and then move in towards the front of the statues and grab it. Then call Zobeck by pressing Y. You will need to do this to fill all the holes. With the holes filled use your dark magic to smash through the gate.
Now just head into the building straight ahead and get the steak relic on the stairs, use it to open the door and your finished

Trial:
Finish the level without allowing Zobek to kill a single Ghoul
Simply use RT to grab every enemy, don’t hit them with any attacks because you might just weaken them leaving a chance for Zobek to get a kill. Just keep rapidly tapping RT to quickly grab one after the other.

Abbey Catacombs
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Life Gem (14/30): Take the door to the left, in the room with the gears use crowbar and platform to get across, then go right past the key to find a hidden body.
  • Light Gem (12/30): After getting both keys, in the courtyard rotate the gear 90 degrees and go into the portal

Level Summary/Tips:
In the first part you will need to kill the vampires until you have a break to grab the lever on the ground. Use the lever to rotate the device in the middle. Once you have the gate open press Y to have Zobek hold it. Then sprint under the gate and use your dark magic to push the statue through the gate.

Grab the lever from the first room and use it on the device on the left in the second room, then grab the lever again and use it in the left room. Have Zobeck hold it so you can jump on the platform and reach the key. Make sure to grab the lever on your way out to turn the last device in the previous room.

Make your way towards the last key by going under the falling slabs of rock. You will need to tap X to hold them and then Y to tell Zobeck to move. While he is holding one you will need to run and grab the next one.

With both keys open the main door. Now you will come to an area with a device in the middle and 2 portals. You need to break through the wall to the right of the device to get the lever. Kill the enemies and then turn the lever until its pointing at the side with the other portal. Then run through the first portal to solver the puzzle.

Trial:
Finish the level without allowing Zobek to fall in combat a single time
Stay close to Zobeck. Always start attacking the enemy he attacks. Using holy water on the vampires is a good way to quickly kill them. Always grab the ghouls with RT as this pauses the action for a couple seconds. If you fail just restart your checkpoint right away.

Abbey Library
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Light Gem (13/30): From the start follow the red carpet off to the right
  • Light Gem (14/30): After rotating the 1st mirror to make the beam open a door, you will come to a room with another beam, head right (follow the beam) and you will see the body laying next to you.
  • Shadow Gem (14/30): After opening the 2nd door using the light beam, head up the stairs and through the small hole in the railing by the light beam.

Level Summary/Tips:
In this level you will have to arrange the mirrors so the beam of the ends up shinning on the doors to unlock them. Here is a video if you get stuck, it will also help for the trial/

Trial:
Finish the level and beat the mirror and lights puzzle in less than 2:30 minutes
You will need to move pretty quickly through this to make the time. If you mess up restart the checkpoint before unlocking the first door. Holy water is a good way to kill the enemies quickly. Also don’t bother fighting just concentrate on moving the statues. This is a lot easier on squire so just replay the level if you need to.

Abbey Tower
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Life Gem (15/30): After your first fight, go into the building and turn right to find a body laying at the dead end.
  • Life Gem (16/30): After climbing for a bit and then using sprint to clear a gap to climb again, go left around the building your hanging from.
  • Relic: Holy Water Flasks

Level Summary/Tips:
This is a short level. Start out by going right through the building where you will need sprint or double jump to clear the gap. You will have to grab a bridge and pull it down and then go either left or right to find a ledge. Scale the building, once you make it to the top you will need to jump a gap and grab a ledge. Shimmy right, then jump backwards and continue to scale the building. Once near the top you will need to make a weird jump off of a hook and around the corner of the building onto another hook. The level ends once you reach the top and kick in a window.

Trial:
Finish the level after finding and destroying 100 breakable objects before the allotted time runs out
You start with 20 seconds on the clock. You need to destroy 100 items before the time runs out. Each item you break adds 1 second to the clock.

This is a lot easier on squire. Don’t bother with the enemies as they will die while your trying to break the objects. Just run quickly from one item to the next. Use Y attacks to break large groups of items. When you get to the bridge you should have about 66 items. In the next area break about 20 more and then instead of using the device to open the path, double jump over a ledge on the right. Break a few more items as you head down the path. When you reach the other side of the gate use Y to break the remaining items.

Brauner
  • Collectibles Text:
  • * NO Gems or Weapon Upgrades

Level Summary/Tips:
Near the beginning of the level you will have to fight several vampires, try to keep your health up because you have a boss battle directly after this. When facing the Elite Vampire, roll to dodge his slash attacks and then come back with quick counter combos then roll back out. When he says "catch this if you can" start tapping RT to catch his blade and throw it back. After about 3/4 of his health is gone you will stun him and be able to grab him ripping off his wings. Keep this up until you stun him again, this time RT will start a button pressing sequence that finishes him off.

Trial:
Finish the level after attacking the Elite Vampire 4 consecutive times with his own blade
When he says “catch this if you can” start tapping RT, you will catch his blade and throw it back. Do this 4 times in a row. DO NOT attack him at all, just keep running back and forth dodging his attacks until he throws his blade. You can get hit by him but not his blade. Once you rip off his wings you will hit a checkpoint.

Castle Sewers
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Shadow Gem (15/30): At the start go inside and down into the sewers on the right, follow the path down in between the fog.

Level Summary/Tips:
Hit the switch at the beginning and run past the 2 sewer pipes. In the next area you will need to use your stake in the device to open a door below. After you make your way through that door you will need to punch a switch, then run past the spikes. At the gate, turn around and throw a dagger at the switch with your dark magic on.

Trial:
Finish the level after killing 3 Skeleton Warriors without destroying their shields
In the first area after using the switch and running past the 2 sewer pipes just keep spamming Jump + Hold LT & X. Kill the 3 skeletons like this and you will be good to go.

Chapter VI – gem & upgrade locations, trials & tips

Castle Courtyard
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Life Gem (17/30): You will have to drop down a hole, after break the wall to your left

Level Summary/Tips:
Start off by using a ledge on the left to get over a gate. Then use the device to open a hole in the ground. Once underground you will need to fight a few skeletons and a Warg. Use the Warg to climb the beam on the right, once up top drop down the square hole. After killing another group of skeletons and using a device to open a gate, head up the stairs to the end of the level.

Trial:
Finish the level and kill 3 Skeleton Warriors while you are mounted on a Warg
After dropping down the hole wait a minute and a Warg will be released. Use your dark magic to attack and gain control over it. Be careful not to kill any skeletons while on foot, there are only 3 that spawn here.

Maze Gardens
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Life Gem (18/30): Saw a statue on the right side of the gardens
  • Light Gem (15/30): Head to the back left corner of the maze gardens and destroy a stone wall
  • Shadow Gem (16/30): After using the stone pillars to climb into another section of the garden, tame the spider and pull open one of the doors. This will take you back to the first section where you can create a bridge with the spider.

Level Summary/Tips:
At the start of the level head to the right and look for a large stone pillar, punch it forward and use the ledges to reach the other side of the garden. Now head to the back right corner to find a large spider, take control of it. Ride the spider back towards where you jumped over and make a bridge across to the door.

This will bring you to the Maze Gardens Puzzle, simply move the middle statue counter clockwise 2 times. Grab another spider, this time go right and right again where you will find a door you can use the spider to open. Go through and you can use the key on the door. Use the ledge again to get back over the gate and use the key on the castle door.

Trial:
Finish the level after defeating 15 Mandragoras in less than 15 seconds
I was able to easily get this at the spot where you get the spider from. You may need to let yourself die and restart at the checkpoint (you will spawn where you jumped over) if you killed a lot of them already. Just go to where the spider is and wait a little bit. Once you see a large group throw holy water at them or charge a knife throw. Then quickly move into another section of the maze. I was able to 22 kills in 15 seconds.

Castle Hall
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Life Gem (19/30): In the third room, break the book shelves on the left and jump to a ledge
  • Weapon Upgrade – carry more daggers: In the room that opens after aligning the first set of lights ***requires seraph shoulders***
  • Light Gem (16/30): Sitting by the right corner of the large chess board you can play on. If you go out the door on the left the chapter will end

Level Summary/Tips:
You will start off fighting more vampires. You need to use the hook to remove boards from the windows or to pull the curtains so the light from outside shine in. Use the light to stop vampires from coming out of the holes and to align the mirrors.

Once you have the beam lined up and the gate opened. The you will need to use your magic on the runes. The 3 close to each other, from left to right are Red, Blue, Blue. And the 2 outside the gate are both red

Trial:
Finish the level and win the Vampire Wargame without losing more than 3 pieces
There isn’t really a set way to do this but your overall strategy should be to stay back and play defense. Let them come to you and always attack if you have a chance.

Refectory
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Shadow Gem (17/30): After ringing the dinner bell and using the hook, in the crawlspace make a few turns then look right at the intersection
  • Life Gem (20/30): After killing the butcher use the key on the door in the room with the pot of flesh
  • Shadow Gem (18/30): In the last room (with the 6 magic ruins puzzle). On the right side stand on the red stairs and look up for a hook. Once up balance on the blanks behind the fountain.

Level Summary/Tips:
You will need to head over to the room on the left and grab some meat from the pan in the center of the room. Carry the meat back and place it on the plate in the other room. Then ring the dinner bell and use the hook in the of the panels that opens.

This will take you to The Evil Butcher. He will use objects around the room to either heal himself or hurt you. Same technique as always will beat him without to much troubles. Just watch out rolling straight back as he does an attack that goes straight back and it’s pretty devastating. When he turns to walk away to pick up an item is a good time to unleash a strong combo.

Trial:
Finish the level and defeat the Evil Butcher after he uses at least 15 objects in the kitchen
There isn’t much to this one. Just keep rolling and evading his attacks. He will randomly pick up objects, just watch the count in the top right so you know when to kill him.

Chapter VII – gem & upgrade locations, trials & tips

Balcony
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Shadow Gem (19/30): While balancing on the beam u see it on the right, shimmy on the ledge behind the brick column to reach it
  • Light Gem (17/30): Its in the room where you kill 2 skeletons to get the key to open the gate
  • Shadow Gem (20/30): To the right of the puzzle where you drop the balls

Level Summary/Tips:
After dropping down and crossing some beams near the start of the level you will fight some sword masters. Their attacks are pretty brutal so just keep your distance and try to avoid any shots. After their dead, scale the building and drop down to a ledge. There are 2 windows you can get into below. The window on the left has the key (killing the skeletons will drop the key) and the window on the right has health. To reach the window on the left use the hook and jump out away from the wall to grab the ledge.

After heading back up and using the key you will need to solve the puzzle to open the gate. See the trial below for the solution

Trial:
Finish the level after beating the logic gates puzzle in 7 movements
The balcony puzzle solution is to drop the balls in this order – Left, Center x5, Right

Electric Laboratory
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Light Gem (18/30): Left side of the second room just as you enter
  • Life Gem (21/30): Use the moving platform in the back right corner of the 3rd room with the blue and red lights

Level Summary/Tips:
In this level you will have to switch electrical pulses going to blue and red orbs. You hit the switches on the ground by holding LT + Y while standing over it. Any orbs of different colors will attract and make an electrical pulse between each other. You will need to make both orbs the same color to pass.

In the first section just hit every switch as you work your way through the room

In the second section you will need to punch (LT+X) a mechanism on the left to the right side of the room. Once the mechanism is in place hit the new switch and go back to the left side of the room where you will need to activate your dark magic and throw a knife across at the switch 2 times.

In the third section you will need to work your way to the left of the main door. So setup the orbs so you can get the switch that is forward and left. This will open the path to the red prism. After picking it up head to the back corner where you will fight a giant mech spider (see trial below). After beating the spider, hit the newly revealed switch under the small archway. Now just work your way through the door by using the platform in the right of the room.

Trial:
Finish the level and deactivate the Mechanical Monstrosity using only the tesla coil in the lab after it is activated
This is a bit easier on squire because you can take more damage, as long you can dodge his attacks you should be fine on Paladin. You can fight this thing normally until the cutscene where it activates the switch. From here on out you can only use the switch to kill it. You will need to do this 3 times to kill it. If you push down to run back towards the switch and have a perfectly time Earthquake punch (LT + Y) on the switch after the cutscene you can get 1 hit off the bat. Then just lure him to the opposite side of the switch, when he attacks jump over his head and hit the switch again. You will need to do this 3 times in a row to kill it with no checkpoints.

Chromatic Observatory
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Life Gem (22/30): In the green room, you will see it on the right when you use the hook to clear the gap. Just get close to it
  • Light Gem (19/30): Combine the blue lens and green lens, its underneath the enemy that comes to live
  • Shadow Gem (21/30): Use all 3 lenses blue the white key to open the white door. use the key at the end the room to open another door with the gem inside

Level Summary/Tips:
Use the prisms to mix and match color combinations to open new paths.
-Red Path: Use dark magic + Hold LT + Left stick to activate all the squares at the same time and open the gate to the green prism.
-Green Path: Beat the Swordmasters and use the hooks to reach the far end. Use dark magic + Hold LT + Left stick to activate all the squares at the same time to unlock the white key.
-Yellow Path (green+red): Use dark magic + Hold LT + Left stick to activate all the squares at the same time and open the gate to the blue prism.
-Blue: Just activates an enemy. He will drop a dark crystal if you kill him.
-Aqua (blue+green): Just activates an enemy. He will drop a dark crystal if you kill him.
-White (All 3 prisms + key): Is a path to a gem.
-Purple Path (blue+red): Is the path to the end of the level.

Trial:
Finish the level, destroying 10 Deadly Toys using normal hits before completely killing any of them with a grip
This is a very rough battle on Paladin, I recommend just replaying it on squire. At the beginning of the boss battle just don’t use grip (RT) to finish off any of the toys. You can use magic and everything just don’t grip to kill them. Holy water works pretty good on these guys. After your 10th kill use RT to finish them so they don’t keep spawning.

If you do decide to play on Paladin be prepared for a battle. For the first 3 guys I mostly killed them with holy water, making sure to kill all 3 at the same time. Once you have 3 fresh enemies use your dark crystal. Now you should have 6 down and basically full health. Finish off the remaining 4 by rolling to dodge there knife and slash attacks. Get in combos where you can but just focus on not getting hit. Stay out of the air as much as possible unless your avoid their ground attack. After your 10th kill you can start killing them and finishing them off with RT so they don’t respawn.

Chapter VIII – gem & upgrade locations, trials & tips

Outer Wall
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Shadow Gem (22/30): Just past the health fountain on the left when you make it to the top of the castle wall
  • Light Gem (20/30): After going down a long bridge, finding the key and then going up a long bridge its on the left in the room where you use the key

Level Summary/Tips:
Start the level by dropping off the balcony and through a climbing sequence. The puzzle to open the gate is: On the left side, starting from the furthest away from the gate – Blue, Blue, Red. The other side is Blue, Red, Red.

Use the lever in the center of the bridge to turn the gate, now run towards the right and through the hole in the rotating gate to make it to the stairs. The key is on a body down the stairs. Use the key on the other side of the bridge.

Trial:
Finish the level after killing 10 Gremlins using only your silver daggers
After using the colored ruins to open the door and going across a large bridge with a lever in the center gremlins will attack you. Just use your dark magic + throw a dagger to quickly kill them. There is only 10 so don’t kill any with other attacks.

Clockwork Tower
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Light Gem (21/30): Sprint jump to the platform on the left after crossing the first two beams of the level
  • Life Gem (23/30): On the balcony to the right after climbing up multiple ledges while missing the electric current

Level Summary/Tips:
You will need to use the beams and make a series of jumps to reach an upper platform with a lever on it. Then work your way through another section to find another lever. See the trial tips below for help.

Trial:
Finish the level and get to the top corridor in less than 5 minutes
You will reach a checkpoint at the first lever and at the 2nd lever. After the very first 2 beams of the first section you can skip the platform moving back and forth by double jumping to the side rotating platforms. This will cut out a good 15 seconds. If you don’t make it to the first lever with at least 3:30 left on the clock restart your checkpoint before turning the lever.

During the second part you will need a near perfect run. After dropping down to the platform and up onto a balcony, double jump to the ledge from the balcony instead of waiting for the platform. At the part with all the ledges, Grab some magic from the fountain, you need at least half bars in each or 1 full bar. Then wait until all the electric goes out, then wait until the 2nd cycle and jump to the 3rd ledge and wait for the power to go out again before going all the way up.
If your time is good (at least 1:40-2:00 left) when you get to the last lever, start turning it. If not restart your checkpoint. Use any magic you have to quickly kill the mech spider with Ultimate Light and Ultimate Shadow, turn the lever and cross the beams to the platform.

Olrox
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Shadow Gem (23/30): After defeating Olrox look in one of the Iron Maiden death traps he kept opening during the fight

Level Summary/Tips:
This guy isn’t to bad once you know his moves. His main attacks are to slash you and he will also teleport. Every time he teleports he will follow with an unblockable double slash. He will also say something and then throw his blades at you. Just keep your distance and keep rolling to evade his attacks and then counter with a few quick hits. Holding X + XXX is a good quick combo to use.

After awhile he will stop and feed on the Lycan in the coffins. After he is done hit the Lycan a few times to destroy it. Kill them all so he can’t regenerate his health

The puzzle solution:Steer the blood into the bottom right spot. Then directly left. Then to the spot above that. Now to the right corner and then into the last spot. Push in the direction u want to go before getting there.

Trial:
Finish the level after keeping the focus meter at its maximum value for 60 seconds
This is easier on squire but not to hard on paladin. Build your focus by pulling off quick combo and then retreating. Once you have your focus maxed out roll a few times and hit him once, then roll a few times and hit him again. Try to hit him once every 5-8 seconds and then roll.

The Throne Room
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Light Gem (22/30): At the start of the level on the right side of the stairs
  • Relic: Seraph Shoulders

Level Summary/Tips:
During the first part of this battle you will need to kill some small vampires. Meanwhile the boss will shoot electric at you, just roll towards her or sprint away from it.

During the second part you will face The Dark Lord. Attack a lot, just keep attacking until she makes a move, then roll away. If she releases bats just keep rolling. If you shoots a blast on the ground jump. Then go back to attacking.

Make sure to grab her when she is flashing. When she is finally down, go up to her and hold Lt and hit X, then get ready for a long button press sequence.

Trial:
Finish the level and defeat the Dark Lord after she kills at least 10 of her own Vampire Warriors
At the very beginning of this fight there will only be 10 vampires, so don’t kill any of them. Stay on the outside and wait for the Dark Lord to use her electric power. Try to get as many of the small vampires as possible between you and the boss. It helps if you beat them down a bit to get there health low and then let the boss finish them off. If one grabs you DO NOT press the button or you will kill it. If you kill 1 restart the checkpoint.

Chapter IX – gem & upgrade locations, trials & tips

Bones Forest
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Shadow Gem (24/30): To your left at the beginning of the chapter
  • Light Gem (23/30): On the other side of the rock structure that you start beside
  • Shadow Gem (25/30): After fighting the green floating heads take the left path, use sprint & dbl jump to clear the gap
  • Life Gem (24/30): Grab the ledge on the right after the Chupacabra steals your stuff

Level Summary/Tips:
When you get to the part where your relics get stolen again. Look to the right and head up the ledges. Fight the troll and then use it to break 2 sets of rocks. The Chupacabra will be directly behind the second rock.

Trial Finish the level after killing 10 Headless Corpses, without being grabbed by them a single time
There are 6 in the area after double jumping a gap and another group to the left after this fight. Sprint and double jump on top of the cave instead of inside of it. Jump and hold LT + X to hurt them and bring them to the surface, then RT to grab them. Holywater also works good.

Woes Moor
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Shadow Gem (26/30): At the start of the level head backwards
  • Light Gem (24/30): After using your hook to break down some wood boards, its on the ground inside
  • Light Gem (25/30): After sawing some wood blanks, its up the ramp to the left
  • Life Gem (25/30): Back from the fountain, to the right of the 3rd scarecrow, in the corner of a shed

Level Summary/Tips:
In this level you will need to shake posts that crows are sitting on in order to activate scarecrows that drop the keys you need. See the trial tips for the order to scare the crows. After getting the 3rd key head back to the start of the level and into the basket.

Trial Finish the level and get the three keys, scaring the crows only 13 times
Scare flock 1 two times in a row. Fight the scarecrow and get a key. Scare flock one again and it will tell you another flock has come. Scare flock 1 one more time. Now run down the left path and pull down the wood gate. Go up the path and scare flock 2. Now go back behind the barn and scare flock 2, keep scaring them until you get the 2nd scarecrow. After the fight the crows will fly behind the building, scare them 2 more times (this will bring flock 1 and 2 side by side). Now just unlock the 3rd crow by pulling down the wood beams blocking the door and scare the crows 2 times. WarningO NOT fight next to the crows, it will scare them and you will lose a turn.

The Music Box
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Light Gem (26/30): In the middle of the green path at the beginning
  • Life Gem (26/30): Take the straight path to the end and go left. Set the stones in this order -> Red, Blue, Magenta, Yellow, green

Level Summary/Tips:
Start off by putting the green piece in the box, then heading down the left path through the spikes. Grab the red piece and go through the portal. Now put the red piece in and order them red, green. Go down the right path jumping on the platforms, take a left through the spikes to find the magenta piece. Order the pieces red, magenta, green and go down the right path again. This time turn right to find the yellow piece. Now order them red, yellow. Head down the middle path (fill your magic) and take a left. Use dark magic + left stick to speed past the flames and find the blue piece. Order them Red, Blue, Magenta, Green and head down the middle path. Head straight, at the electric spot use your dark magic + hold LT + left stick to fly by the first part and land in the middle, do it again to pass the second part. Once pass the electric stuff, head right through the spikes to solve the puzzle.

Trial Finish the level and get the blue rose without falling in any of the Music Box traps
Follow the instructions above, if at any time you fall off or get hit by anything restart your checkpoint.

  • Collectibles Text:
  • Light Gem (27/30): After climbing out of the hole and down the rock, take the left path and keep heading left, then drop down.
  • Life Gem (27/30): After defeating the first big coffin spider enemy and before using the key, take a left across the long arm
  • Shadow Gem (27/30): When you get the the island that has 2 keys, its on the other side of the island
  • Light Gem (28/30): After using another key and jumping off another large arm bridge, its on the right beside where you land

Level Summary/Tips:
Once you climb out and your back on solid ground, head to the right on the statue’s hand, sprint then double jump to the platform in the middle. You will fight a giant coffin spider, once you beat him down he will go back in his coffin, run up and press RT and he will drop a key. Use the key in the ruin and go over the new extension.

In this area you will need 2 keys. Head out to the small island and then double jump to your right. There will be a small path with what look like a dead end in a small cave, at the dead end turn right to find more coffin spiders and another key.

Now head back out to the smaller island, this time jump to your diagonal right to find a couple more spider coffins and the last key. From here jump to the ledge and up on the arm, sprint and double jump off the end of the arm to another island where you can use the keys. Use the keys, on the other side of this island climb the ledges to the top of the statue and then run and jump off the arm.

Trial:
Finish the level after receiving at least 100 points of poison damage from the deadly mist
After you climb out and down the huge statue go a bit further until you see it auto saved, then just jump in the mist until the meter reaches 100.

Fire Pinnacle
  • Collectibles Text:
  • * NO Gems or Weapon Upgrades

Level Summary/Tips:
In this battle you will fight Pan. This is one of the only time when I will say blocking is key. His attacks are really hard to evade routinely, but you can block almost every single one without much effort. Always stay close to him, when he attacks block it and unleash a combo, then block again. You main focus should be blocking his attacks.

Towards the end, when you have both your magics back, if he is red use light magic (RB), if he is blue use LB. If he hits you while your the same color he will gain health. I found it much easier to barely use any magic and keep blocking and attacking. If I needed some health I would block, then switch to the opposite magic and attack a few times, then turn off my magic

Trial:
Finish the level without allowing Pan to recover any health during the fight
This doesn’t come into play until you get both magics back. If he hits you or you hit him while both you are both using the same magic he will gain health. I found this easy to do without using any magic at all. If you do need some, use the method mentioned above, block, then attack with opposite magic and turn it off. If you fail restart your checkpoint.

Fire Cemetery
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Light Gem (29/30): After your first fight, go right and jump into a pit , use the ledges to reach another rock platform
  • Life Gem (28/30): After the Chupacabra has stolen your stuff go left and then another left
  • Life Gem (29/30): After the Chupacabra has stolen your stuff go right and keep following the path a bit further

Level Summary/Tips:
After making it through the opening climbing parts and making a huge sprinting double jump, your stuff will get stolen again. You can find him in the center, in a cage. In order to unlock the cage you will need shine 3 beams at the cage. You have to power on beams by inserting a dark crystal into the little box near the beams.

Beam #1: Directly to your right, put the dark crystal in the box off further to the right. Shine this post’s beam at the post to the left, then shine that beam through the crack in the wall.

Beam #2: Attack the first beam to move it along the path and around the corner

Beam #3: Use your dark crystal form the first box and put it into the box on the left, near another beam. Now shine the beam straight ahead though a crack in the rocks. Now move the other beam over to it.

At the end you need to ring both chimes quickly to open the door. Just hold LT + X to ring one, then quickly roll back and turn around and ring the second.

Trial:
Finish the level after killing 20 Zombies in a single aerial sequence
After getting your stolen goods back but before ringing the 2 chimes. Get your jump just right and you can stand on top of the stone pillars holding the chimes. Let a large group of zombies build under you, make sure every single zombie is in the group. Then drop down in the middle of the group and use dark magic + YAA. You can use whatever combo you like as long as they die in the air. Standing on the pillar just lets the pile build longer without taking damage, its useful on Paladin.

Crematory Oven
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Shadow Gem (28/30): After you fight the gravedigger boss and your climbing out of the oven, on your 3rd hook shimmy to the right to reach a platform

Level Summary/Tips:
Here you will fight Gravedigger. At this point in the game he shouldn’t give you to many problems. Just keep rolling to avoid his slash attacks and look out for his pound attack, jump to avoid taking damage before he hits the ground. He also throws something at you but as long as you roll it will not hit you. When you finally get Gravedigger hurt, don’t grab him, instead use the lever to the right to open the door. Then grab him.

With the gravedigger dead you will need to work your way to the top before the fire catches you.

Trial:
Finish the level and kill at least 15 summoned creeping corpses during the fight against the Gravedigger
He throws 3 at a time, so just wait and keep rolling around until you reach 15 kills.

Chapter XI – gem & upgrade locations, trials & tips

Necromancer’s Abyss
  • Collectibles Text:
  • Shadow Gem (29/30): At the start of the level drop to a ledge on the left just before the giant circular device
  • Life Gem (30/30): After the stone smashing puzzle go through the first portal and then drop down to a ledge on the left before going into the 2nd portal
  • Light Gem (30/30): After defeating Death, go through the right mirror, jump through through the portal to reach a ledge
  • Shadow Gem (30/30): After opening the gate blocking the mirror and going through a long climbing session, go through another mirror and go down the left path

Level Summary/Tips:
The big sundial like object puzzle code: From left to right up x5, down x11, down x9.

For the stone puzzle you need to hold LT + y over one of the stones to pick a direction for the current to flow. If you look at the wall you will see the pattern to follow. Each row has its own direction. The outside row (row1) is up, row 2 is right, row 3 is left and row 4 is down. Here is the correct order: up, right, up, up, left, down, left, up, up, right, up. When your finished punch the center rock to activate it.

In the first section, use the teleporter then double jump to the portal. Now continue jumping across the rock platforms until you reach another portal. Here you will fight a Necromancer. Do big combos on the guys he spawn if you need magic. With the necro done, you will be facing 2 portals. The goal here is to open the gate in between the portals.

Head through the left door. From here there are several different ways to go. Start by going to towards the portal you can jump towards. Sprint then jump into the portal, don’t double jump. Use your double jump when you come out to reach a hook. Head into the mirror, then punch the ground by the first piece to unlock the gate.

Back at the 2 mirrors, head into the left one again. This time jump down into portal on the other side, and then double jump to reach a hook. After killing the Reapers, drop down and use the ledges to reach the health and the second piece of the gate.

Now head into the right mirror. Now head into the right portal and double jump to a mirror. Go into the next portal when floating rock is to the far right. Take the platform you fall on to the left and jump to a ledge. Work your way up to another mirror. Kill the reapers and activate the final piece to the gate.

After fighting another necromancer and a very long climbing/jumping session, you will final reach the top and the level’s end.

Trial:
Finish the level after destroying 60 Reapers
These guys are scattered across the map. There are exactly 56 to kill before entering the portal behind the gate you open. The Necromancer will release at least 9, so make sure you have 51 or more before enter the portal behind the gate.

The Dracolich
  • Collectibles Text:
  • * NO Gems or Weapon Upgrades

Level Summary/Tips:
In this level you will need to climb all over the giant beast. Start off by grabbing his belling as he flies over. Then just work your way to each weak spot going from side to side and then finally up his spine. You will get thrown off after this point, which will trigger a button press. After that climb down and over to another weak spot. At the end you will need to climb up into his mouth and hit the last spot.

Trial:
Finish the level and defeat the Dracolich in less than 5 minutes
You have to use a dark crystal at the beginning in order to make this time. You will have to fly through this pretty quick and flawlessly to make it in under 5 mins. Always use A when climbing and when your running jump to clear each section, this will save time. At the very end, after the cutscene double jump towards him and grab, then hit up a couple times to get further into his mouth and X to finish him off. Always reset from the world map so you don’t lose your dark crystal. If you make it to the last part and you know you have enough time to finish you can use your checkpoint.

Chapter XII – gem & upgrade locations, trials & tips

Final Fight
  • Collectibles Text:
  • * NO Gems or Weapon Upgrades

Level Summary/Tips:
The final battle, Satan! His weapon attacks are not to hard to avoid, he has the standard pound attack that you will have to jump to avoid and some slash attacks that can be rolled fairly easy. His magic attacks can get annoying. He will throw circles on the ground, use blue when your in blue and red when in red. If you get caught in one of these circles just switch to the correct color during the little cutscene and roll out of the way to avoid taking any damage. To do good damage to Satan you need to use the opposite magic from what he is using, this will almost instantly build you health back up as well. Once you have him downed you will see a bunch of circles on the ground, just change to that color magic to walk through each layer of the circle.

Trial:
Finish the level and defeat Satan without being hit by any attack with the opposite magic color
Playing this on squire is a lot easier. There are a couple different methods for doing this. You can go up to him and block, then switch to the opposite magic and get a few hits in, roll away, then repeat. I had better luck just taking my time and keeping my magic off most of the time. When I see a good chance to get in a few good hits I would turn on the opposite magic and attack but then quickly turn my magic back off. Luckily there is a checkpoint after you successfully grip him. I did most of my damage to him during the parts were the circles are on the ground, he rarely attacks during these parts. Also in the second part, the falling lava counts as a hit from him, I recommend just keeping your magic off when you start to see spots on the ground.

Not in the usual sense. Your character just keeps his upgrades permanantly once you get them. There isn't a new game+ mode specifically, but whenever you replay a level on any difficulty Gabriel keeps all his progress.

I just started this game yesterday and this guide has been very useful thus far. The developers really done a nice job of having you replay chapters in order to get certain weapons upgrades after getting different attributes and combos for Gabriel.
