Should I stick with this one? Not terribly impressed so far.

I picked this game up a couple months ago and finally got around to playing it tonight. I've played through the first chapter and I'm not too impressed. I can't see the enemies because they're too dark, the controls don't seem very responsive, and the graphics are pretty bad. Also, the story is cheesy as hell so far. Are there any open-ended portions where you can roam around or is it just linear all the way through?

Please tell me it gets better from here. Maybe I'm spoiled by Red Dead Redemption, but that was probably in my top 5 games of all time.

Please give me a reason to stick with this one. I had to give up for the night because the game was boring me.

there are definitely 2 or 3 levels where you can free roam to an extent, but not in the way you can in Red Dead.....i dunno what to say man if you're not enjoying it, personally i really loved the game, but maybe it was to do with the time it came out, maybe it hasn't aged well, especially with Red Dead on the cowboy game scene since!

For anyone looking here for a second opinion: This was one of the worst shooters I've played pretty much ever. Maybe I'm spoiled by more polished games like CoD, but this thing is riddled with shotty programing & playability. Poor hit detection combined with a broken auto-aim system are the biggest issues. Now throw in an annoying "dynamic" cover system that I only realized I could turn off at the end of my 2nd playthrough. Oh, and it froze up on me 3 times in the last 2 nights.

The first one wasn't a bad game so I'm confused as to what went wrong here. Even the story is terrible. I recently completed Duke Nukem Forever and thought that game was WAY more fun than this one. For the final nail in the coffin, this game has a bitch of an achievement list with the 3 worst types of achievements: 89 collectables, riddiculous hardest difficulty, and online grinding. Do yourself a favor and try not to answer the Call of Juarez.

to post above:

there is 1 achievement, besides "89 collectables, riddiculous hardest difficulty, and online grinding", IT D-Day Achievement-Destory ALL Rafts Before They Land.

I Repeat OVER And OVER And OVER, only to have soldiers ON THE BEACH!!!

I Went Left/Middle/Right, Hitting The Rafts.

i've seen the d-day video, still nothing

i read "Don't forget about this raft or the rafts that come from the far left of the screen". FAR LEFT, uh okay, WTF!!!

I liked it. And I played it *after* Red Dead Redemption (which was a fantastic game). Sure, it has some issues, but I picked it up for like twelve bucks used-- it's a damned fine twelve-dollar game. =)
