PC Corrupt Save :(

I'd finished playing through the story on hard and had found all the collectibles and was progressively completing all the medals in the challenges when I felt like it so my completion was >90%, when today I started up the game to find my save had randomly become corrupt.
I did not close the game or shut down my system during an autosave before anybody mentions that.
I've searched around and seen that other people have randomly had their save become corrupted for no reason at all.

I was wondering if anybody else on this site has had this problem with any version of the game.
This thread isn't to ask for help on fixing the problem. It's a discussion about it.
You'd think they'd have a backup save stashed away for you in case this ever happens...

Ninja Sandman's Gamercard
The same damn thing happened to me. I had everything done and was going to finish the challenges to get the perfect night achievement. I didnt exit out in a funny way or anything but when I went to start it up it just showed up I had a corrupt save so I had to delete that and restart a whole new game. It sucked but I dont think there was any real way to fix it or to save twice. I thought I was the only one this happened to.
