I wonder if they would do any Avatar rewards? I'd love to have a portal gun or maybe a pet turret

Achievements are up.
Looks like a fairly easy 1000 with what appears like the bulk of gamerscore for simply finishing story & co-op with just a few time based or medal achievements.

Should be an easy ride.. will be able to sit back and enjoy the game without worrying about missing anything.

The achievement list looks really good, might be one of the best lists of 2011.

Even though some of these achievements may turn out to be difficult, it sounds like a lot of weird/random singleplayer achievements(my favorite). I'm personally glad that there isn't a "Complete the game on Insanely Hard Difficulty" achievement like most other games have, those get so annoying.

I think it should be an easy and very fun 1000. It won't be hard because if you are stuck you can just look it up on Youtube.

Professor Portal looks like it could be a pain. We'll have to see.

After beating co-op, i'd be willing to create a new gold account (new email tag gets free 1 month gold) for someone if they did the same for me.

Most of it seems to be Co-Op. There must be a shit ton more content than ever judging by the acheivements. Makes sense I suppose, before it was a downloadable game or part of the Orange Box now it's a full game by itself

Acheivement Opinions

Since the new list just got posted, which one are you

A)Most looking forward to

B)Least looking forward to

For me

A) The taunting the turret with a light bridge

B) Professor Portal (Finding a portal virgin)

I'm not totally sure yet, because some of them still seem ambiguous with their descriptions, but as of now:

Most looking forward to: Four Ring Circus
Least looking forward to: Professor Portal I guess (but with a second account it shouldn't be too bad)
Best achievement title: Stranger than Friction (just awesomely epic)

Also, anyone have any ideas what rock-paper-scissors might entail?

I actually wish each achievement was worth 5 points. That way I'd have 200 extra things to do and I could play this game for years without the possibility of boredom.

I think thats supposed to be that way. No spoilers for looking at cheivos but when you play the game and unlock them I'm sure they'll make perfect sense

Yeah I realized that, so my favorite achievement may change after I finished the game.

I noticed a great deal of em are for Co-op. Thats either to give us incentive to play it but that could also mean there's less to the single player story.

I think they're just relying on the co-op being so much fun that people will WANT to do that rather than play the singleplayer a bunch trying to get those achievements.

I have no doubt that they'll be correct in that assumption. Personally...I'd rather have more singleplayer because a lot of my friends don't play when I play. But a game like this will be fantastic to play with a friend.

Yeah, if you actually know them and cooperate it will be amazing. This is most certainly NOT a game to get paired with randoms on. Either they're dumb as shit and can't understand what's going on. Same people that couldn't understand Inception either (Seriously?). Or.......They do understand but drop you into acid every chance they get or get in your way.

The awesomest achievment name has to be 'Shcrodinger's Catch', the perfect nerdy in-joke for Portal fans.

And they all sound either really fun, or enjoyably difficult. Except speed runs. Speed runs = death for me. D:

Oh, me too. I've tried pulling some of the crap other guys used to be capable of but would always smack into a wall or land on a turret

What I noticed from Valve (and specialy Half Life 2 and Portal) is, that the Achievements are hard and not worth much gamerscore (Like completing a very hard level and achieving only 5G), others are to easy to bring op the gamerscore to easy.(You get 30G when you complete all Advanced Chambers, wich are only six). Now, in Portal 2, I think the achievements are much more fun, like 'A party of three' and 'Can't touch this'. I'm looking forward to have this one n my 100% completion!

valve has always been very clever with their achievement titles. It will also feel nice to get worthwhile points for achievements, not this beat every level with a gold medal and get 40 gamerscore...

'Good Listener' Cheevo tip: When you're asked to choose your escape route in Chapter 4, manually SAVE your game! Now follow the bridge over to GLaDOS's side and once your cheevo pops, reload your last save and go the other way as required.

a good % of the story achievements are found along the way with no real problems but some of the achievements that i haven't found yet in story mode are . "Final transmission", "ship Overboard", and "pit boss" those seem to be the pain in the a** ones.

and the rest are all co-op with about 2 online ones "Professor Portal" and "Friends list with benefits" every one else so far can be done with split screen co-op

rock paper scissors are a gesture that you learn while playing coop, as soon as you both get it, one player has to win three times in a row. You do not get to choose your hand, it does it automatically, so it may take a little while for the both of you to get three in a row, took me and a partner possible 10 minutes for the both of us.

Portal 2 Avatar Awards

I don't think anyone's posted these yet, so here we go:

1) TURRET SHIRT (male and female versions unlocks simultaneously): Received for completing the "Overclocked" achievement (Completeing Test Chamber 10 in less than 70 seconds)

2) PORTAL 2 COMPANION CUBE: Complete the Portal 2 singleplayer game

3) PORTAL 2 HAT: Survive Manual Override (the first mission I think)

4) PORTAL 2 SHIRT (again, male/female versions unlock simultaneously): Complete Portal 2 Co-Op

5) LOVE SHIRT (same as Turret and Portal Shirts): Hug 3 different friends in Portal 2 Co-Op

Is Test Chamber 10 marked as you enter it? Has anyone made a guide for it yet?
*Edit* Thanks for the list.
