Achievement Discussion

Anyone else think so? It looks like it to me, I checked out this achievement list only to discover a game that doesn't shoehorn in multiplayer achivements to prolong me sending this back to gamefly.

I think I might actually play the multiplayer for fun....what a different experience.

I was kinda on the fence about buying this game, but after this decent achievement list I think I will buy it.

Thoughts??

very happy with the list, iv never really been bothered about mp apart from fifa so i cant wait to get my teeth into it. some of them are quite funny as well like the poo one and the beer and steriods. looks like it will be a good 1000 points without the need for grinding or boosting which is refreshing. all in all I cant wait for this game and even more so now the chievo's have been released. hail to the king baby!

I was scared about DukeMatch achievements too but these really do look like they're all SP. I'm not mad at this at all. All hail the king baby! (pitchford)

Yeah super pumped that there's no insane multiplayer stuff for leveling up or anything like that. Seems like there's just the normal story progression ones and then a bunch of special killing achievements.

Glad to see no MP achievements. I would have been okay with a few, but only if they were easily achieveable for everyone, even if you sucked at MP.

The list seems a little simple though. Almost too simple...
Oh well, we'll see when it's finally out.

This is how games should be rated:
  • Absolute Buy - This game should be bought and owned in every house.
  • Absolute Play - Every gamer should play this game at some point in life.
  • Give it a try Fun enough for people to like it, but probably won't last through the years.
  • Possible Try/Rent If you thought about playing this, go for it. Keep it only if you love it.
  • Never Play Unless you absolute want to or you love bad games, don't bother playing.

Agreed, only having single player achs seems like a strong point; that way, it's all skill and no boosting (especially since I don't think anyone expects this game to have a long MP life, regardless of how good the SP is).

Ha, awesome achievement list. I love how half the list is just killing a mess of aliens every way possible. Also nothing that looks like it would take a million years/having to interact with other jerks to finish. Makes it a will-purchase case for me.

These achievements look hellarious, looks like another game to 1000G At least, if the Insane difficulty isn't too hard...

It looks amazing. The only one that might be troubling is the Damn I'm Good achievement. It shouldn't be too hard though.

A possible funniest achievement nominee:

Turd Burglar - 10

I am stoked for the game but by the look of the list unless difficulties dont stack its gonna be a 20 hr completion T.T 15 if you are fast :P

I was honestly hoping for a few simple mp achievements nothing major though

I would be very surprised if they don't stack.

Randy Pitchford has been quoted as saying that an average playthrough of the game will take around 16-18 hours. Most gamers just won't have the time to play through it for that sort of length more than once or twice.

Why would you be in a hurry to complete the game anyways?

Very good achivement list. 1000 GS on the way. I think the difficulty ones are not as hard as Call of Duty on Veteran

Thank you DNF developers for not forcing MP achievements.

Now we can explore the single player campaign for fun achievments and hidden extras and play multiplayer for the exact reason the developers intended it for....TO HAVE FUN!!

No back stabbing, cheating and usual crappy experiences to be had with the multiplayer on this one.

So, I'm probably a few days behind everyone...but there are no multiplayer achievements in this game?? That's actually pretty awesome. I agree, now multiplayer can be played for all the right reasons! I hope this game lives up to the hype!

I'm pretty landed at the list, sadly a few collectables but they don't seem too tedious. I'm actually looking forward to the multiplayer too, it actually looks/sounds fun for a change.
