Anyone try out the multiplayer yet?

I loved this game on the PSP, and bought this version right away when I could. I'm working on getting stages beaten and getting the avatar awards, but did anyone try multiplayer out yet? Was curious on the details!

I haven't yet. I've barely scratched the game, but I'm looking forward to how it'll play out.

Multiplayer seems odd. It's competitive (it seems whatever hero beats the boss gets the "True Hero" mention towards the achievement), yet if you are just competing you'll eventually lose from not resetting the timer by a town. Any time the timer fails, you seem to go back in levels/gear since the last time someone reset the timer. So, you want to always make sure to keep the time going, even if it helps someone who's ahead of you, while still trying to win.

I tried it yesterday briefly. In order to win you're going to need a combination of; being good, being smart, and being lucky. Unfortunately I was none of those

Can anyone explain to me how the money system works in MP because I saw some people put different amounts in before they started, but I assume that you can't choose say 5,000 every time you play a match, or is there a penalty for starting with lots if cash?

seems you can only give yourself a max allowance off 1000 gold we haven't noticed any affect in a match, its odd it seems like it would be better to work together up until the end but you don't wanna hindrance yourself helping so that you don't have a chance win. So far my friends and i have been playing and i have won 4 out of 5 games due to luck and buying the items out of towns before they could get to them.

The multiplayer of this game is pretty bland and almost unnecesary. The only way to win is by defeating the evil lord before other players; there are no other tallies or stats that affect getting the true hero (victory)...

I tried it last night and found it to be pretty boring. I'll try some more just for the achievement, but I'd prefer it not to be there. It's also pretty difficult to find games right now.

I just tried and was pretty weirded out by it, it's like there's optional "bosses" that when you beat them you get a coffer with money. But what's the point when beating the boss is all that matters and only 1 person can buy each weapon.

It's more about speed than anything sadly.

I think making it an overall score between remaining health/money/dealt damage to the monster and -score per death would be a much better competitive multiplayer.

It's no fun as it is lol

So far, it's I'm liking it less than on PSP.

Especially the "rematch" bug, where you rematch after a game, and then the game stats come up again, the time goddess comes in to the game and says "FOLLOW THE RULES" and ends the game, forcing you to restart again. Time wasting. WITHOUT FAIL, it happens every other rematch.
